Rating: Summary: Great book Review: The book was almost as good as those earlier ones (first three books). Description of all those mental demons in wulfgars head was a good idea from the author. But why he have to always put those dark elves and Entreri everyplace to mess up the plans of drizzt and his companions.
Rating: Summary: prolouge Review: This was an excellent book. I am a fan of all of Salvatore's works so far. In this book, I saw the whole part with Wulfgar as a prolouge to his next book, The Spine of the World. Salvatore didn't let me down with his great use of detail and superb fighting scences.
Rating: Summary: The Silent Blade Review: This book was great.I loved this book all the way until the end when Drizzt, well I cant say what happens for the people who havent read this magnifacent addition to the series.
Rating: Summary: The silent blade by R.A. Salvatore Review: I thought that this book was as great as the rest of the series by Salvatore. The book was magnifacent until the end when, well I cant say for the people who havent read this masterpeice of a story.
Rating: Summary: A throwback to old school Drizzt, indeed! Review: Ever since Starless Night, these character's haven't been as compelling. I was hoping for some kind of redemption for Artemis, but Salavatore knows how to keep a good thing going. I do think Wulfgar is a much more sympathetic character now that he's a drunk. Also Catie-Brie has never been interesting. She's the one who should die.
Rating: Summary: While I'm a fan of Salvatore's books, this was disappointing Review: I'm a long-time fan of all of Salvatore's books, especially the Dark Elf series. This one, though, left much to be desired. I felt that Salvatore knew where he wanted the story to go, and forced the characters and events to bend to fit his ideas. Several of the major characters didn't act in accordance with the way their personalities were developed in the earlier books. While the basic storyline was okay, it was also weak; there really wasn't much going on in the entire book. While I will probably be buying the next book simply because I'm hooked on the series, I will be profoundly disappointed if it's a soap-opera like The Silent Blade.
Rating: Summary: Yet another Fabulous installment to the Dark Elf Series. Review: What can I say, the man is an excellent writer and I love his work. I liked the fact that Wulfgar has so much emotional termoil after spending all that time in the abyss and even though some people disagree I'm glad he's back. There could have been a little more fighting scenes with Drizzt but I can let that slide. I'm glad to see Entreri is still hanging around after all this time too. What would the story be without a arch enemy for Drizzt. The only thing I want to know is WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK COMING OUT!
Rating: Summary: Good, but not as well written as other Salvatore books. Review: I found the story a bit rushed, and not as solid as I usually find Salvatore's books to be. This one felt like it was hurried through to make a release date. I will still stay a faithfull reader of the Dark Elf Series, but hopefully the next one will be better.....
Rating: Summary: Well... Review: I think RAS finally realized that his books were getting too predictable, and decided to keep some things hidden for once. I'm not going to read a book if I already know what's in it. The other criticisms/raves...those just depend on what a reader's looking for, what he's expecting. Why does everyone love Tolkien but some people insist on dissing RAS? The emotional problems that Drizzt faces never end because he'll always be that same virtuous, introspective drow. Yes, sometimes he sees problems that aren't there, but we all do that; I think that was meant to be a link to reality, and it's a strong one. The characters are real, the world around them fantastic. Tolkien created fantastic creatures that always acted within the stereotypes of their race. Drizzt is a good drow elf, for Mielikki's sake! We'll always love him! It is so hard to create a character like that that Salvatore deserves the luxury of just writing anything with him in it and making it sell!
Rating: Summary: Salvatore's writing is superb!! Review: I have always enjoyed the story line and was thrilled to read yet another from him. Story line is always captive, charecters are to die for. I's so glad he keeps writing this story and can't wait untill he writes more!
