Summary: Oh my..not the death of Drizzt
Review: I really can't believe Drizzt may die. I have read many novels, and many of those are fantasy. But never in all my fantasy reading have I read about a character whose death would affect me more than Drizzt's. In Dragon Lance, when Tanis, Flint , Sturm died, I got over it. I don't know if I can ever get over Drizzt's death. I am a masculine man, but I may actually cry if he does. I have not cried for a character since old dan and little ann in 'Where the red fern grows'. Please R.A....don't kill Drizzt.

Summary: The Death of Drizzt Say it ain't so!
Review: Can it be true? Is Drizzt really going to be reunited with his Father the hard way? I've followed Drizzt from Homelands to his ship board life and must honestly say that out of the 200+ AD&D novels from all systems he has been the most memorable. Not because of the originality of a good drow but because of how well Salvatore defined him. From childhood to Ranger we've seen Drizzts life, from hardship to true friendship we've felt for him. Well I guess the only other thing to cover his his death but I sincerely hope he goes out with a bang mayhaps while helping to destroy the crystal shard which has been left unfinished in Passage to Dawn...

Summary: All excerpts from the book that I have read are top notch!
Review: I have read two excerpts from the Silent Blade. Both are just a hint to the readers of the never ending talent Salvatore utilizes. To Mr Salvatore, thank you for a world of fantasy and excitement and please continue the fantastic work.

Summary: Salvatore's new novel should not disappoint
Review: R.A. Salvatore defines timeless fantasy. The character Drizzt is one of the most well defined ever, in any novel or series of novels. Salvatore's strengths lie in his creative, exciting action scenes, his overall character development, and his keen ability to string together a compelling plot. Rumors abound concerning the death of Drizzt, along with many strong reactions against it. I look at it like this: even if Drizzt dies, Salvatore will make it worth it.

Summary: RA Salvatore's Drizzt series
Review: I can hardly believe what I am hearing, but maybe it is true that Drizzt dies. Then again, maybe not. Who knows for sure (RAS and all the others who have read the book, I guess) =)

RAS definitely creates memorable characters. Who out there doesn't just feel a certain tingle every time cunning Jarlaxle enters the picture. Whenever little Regis gets himself into trouble, we all feel terrible for him, although he almost certainly brought it upon himself. And Drizzt, the valliant ranger, with whom some (myself included) often associate with, creating rules for himself that others around him think absurd. We all adore Salvatore's characters.

We also love his style. The fighting sequences in RAS's books are amoung the best one can find. But the constant struggle inside Drizzt is what I feel keeps this series going. If Drizzt has no passion, there is almost no story. Others may have their inner turmoils, but our dark elf hero is what keeps us coming back for more, to learn what he learns, to see what he sees. Drizzt's lavender orbs are our eyes to a world where we can learn many lessons about mankind, and what our deep dark past shows us. Yes, drow are not the only merciless instruments of evil. But hopefully we CAN learn from them.

I certainly think there is plenty more we can learn from Drizzt. I can only hope that RA Salvatore sees it that way too.

Summary: Salvatore is KING
Review: it was easy knowing Zak wouldn't be coming back, mr salvatore made it too obvious, by hinting too much that it would be him, and the subtle hints about it being wulfgar. Also,Drizzt and Cattiebrie wont be together. They dont work as a couple, but Wulfgar and she need to be together. Drizzt has another to fall in love with, and if you truly knew Drizzt you'd know who i am speaking of. Think on it........

Summary: Drizzt gone???
Review: I read Bob Salvatore's Dark Elf Trilogy as the first of Drizzt's encounters. The character has become a great inspiration to us all, and I hope that if Drizzt becomes a memory, that he goes out in grand fashion.

Summary: Entreri again and again but at least Wulfgar is back
Review: Artemis Entreri had his chance, he just ain't good enough to defeat Drizzit, almost don't cut it. Enough with Entreri please create another character for Drizzit to fight! Entreri had many, many chances, just admit it man you can't win. :) However I can't wait to see what happens to Wulfgar, now there is human with power.

Summary: Drizzt is the modern king of action fantasy characters
Review: Being an avid reader since the age of 11(now 30), my very first book was Wizard of EarthSea. After reading the DragonLance series when it was first released I was in heaven. Then came "The Crystal Shard." I was at that moment hopelessly caught in the world of Salvatore's characters. I have not read The Silent Blade but this letter is to the author and I hope some day he sees this.

I have heard many complaints about bringing Wulfgar back. It wasn't a suprise that Errtu had SOMEONE, so it wasn't far fetched at all - in fact Wulfgar's death was far more sketchy than Zaknafien's. which brings me to my next point:

Zaknafien died in a pool of acid. He isn't coming back. Besides, what is he other than evolution of Drizzt's character into what he is today. Zak was key to Drizzit but is gone. I loved the character too and in my heart I would love to see him come back but its just not gonna happen.

One thing that puzzles me is the realationship of Cattie-Bree and Drizzit. Now that the big guy is back I find it hard to beleive that the feelings Drizzt and Cattie shared would just disappear. Even a fantasy world isn't perfect - Wulfgar went through much in his imprisonment but I think that Drizzt deserves the girl who is much more suited to him.

Artemis. The assassin should be KILLED OFF. Drizzt has proven time and again that his heart and his skill are what makes him the better of the assassin who is nothing but a heartless killing machine. We all know Drizzt will defeat him.

Jarlaxle - This is the most promising character I have seen. Salvatore always mentions how different he is from other dark elves... From the preview of the new book I hear he is teaming up with the assassin. My dream is that Jarlaxle discovers the wonders of the surface world and even teams up with Drizzit in future novels or even new novels spin off only about him. Since he is not the pure hearted Drizzt it would certainly be interesting seeing him change to the side of good and the inner turmoils he has.

Salvatore you rule. Thank you for the many times I have read the whole series and hope to keep on reading. Every friend of mine has either loved the books or have not read them and when they do they don't put them down. Cheers!
