Rating: Summary: One of Salvatores worst books! Review: I found that this book had to many plot lines going. The thing about the love triangle is getting very stupid and stupid. Why doesn't Drizzt go for someone else like Lady of Silvermoon. I did like, however, like the final fight between Drizzt and Entreri. This fight was very exciting and action packed. Jarlaxe was a great character to add to this story. He gave it alot more suspense and some humor. The book was to short to completly develope the characters and to give a good complete ending. Wulfgar character development has to be worked on.PLEASE SALVATORE DO NOT LEAVE US HANGING.
Rating: Summary: Solid if unfulfilling Review: Wulfgar's plot is tremendously bland, and Entreri's is repetitive, and Drizzt's is, well, slight. The ending happens too fast, it seemed almost rushed, and resolves very little... it's a sequel setup, clearly, but that only results in an strong unsatisfying feeling in the reader. Central themes are nonexistent. And yet still, this book is compulsively readable, almost paradoxically so. Despite the fact that I only seem to have criticisms, I still enjoyed it a great deal.
Rating: Summary: Brawls, swordplays, and a whole lot of suspense!! Review: I loved the book, as I do all of Salvatore's books, but this one had some dry spots. I really felt that the focus of this book was on the next book. So many things were setup for a sequel, but no closure was provided. There was just to many loose ends left dangling. As usual the fight sequences were beyond belief. The way Salvatore has brought in the characters from his other novels is also very intriguing. The suspense in this book was to die for too. Keep writing and I'll keep reading, but the book should not be about setting up another novel, but about the story at hand.
Rating: Summary: The best book to end the best series I have ever read! Review: This book was great. It forked onto different story lines several times seeming to tie up loose ends but in all I enjoyed it. I have read the entire Drittzt saga and I am hooked. I hope he does more with the characters.
Rating: Summary: Best book in the whole series Review: The series continues with Wulfgar tormented by the horrors he experienced at the hands of Errtu. Wulfgar must search himself to find where he belongs in the world. At the same time, another soul is tormented by his own demons, Artemis Entreri. Without a guild of his own and with a lose of purpose in his life, Entreri returns to Calimport to not the most welcome of receptions. All this on the backdrop of the Heroes of Icewind Dale's quest to bring Crystal Shard to Cadderly to be destroyed. The book delves into the minds of some of the other major characters in the series beyond Drizzt. Constantly exciting, with a surprising ending that answers the questions many fans wished to know, the novel completes several plotlines, only to open up a few new ones.
Rating: Summary: a long-awaited return to form Review: The Silent Blade delivers like no other Salvatore book since perhaps Siege of Darkness. Unlike the muddled Passage to Dawn, Bob trims down his narrative, focuses in more on character development, and the results are fantastic. The battles were great, but like the best of Bob's work, the personalities of the characters and the conflicts that arise due to those personalities is what really keeps you turning the pages. And what turns the characters take! Salvatore rebounds from his blunderous ressurection of Wulfgar by painstakingly constructing the man's inner turmoil. And it is wonderous to watch Artemis (by far the most intriguing character in this particular novel) slide back into his devious ways during the course of the book. Furthermore, I can't see why some are knocking the ending. While the previous couple of novels had tacked on, lame cliffhangers, this one really delivers a full-blown nailbiter! There are so many unresolved issues that need attending, especially pertaining to Wulfgar and Artemis. But, they will have to wait until the next dark elf installment, a book that I will snatch up faster than you can say "Rumblebelly."
Rating: Summary: Salvatore always leaves you wanting more.... Review: The Silent Blade is classic. I am beginning to wonder if Salvatore can write a book with a neat, tidy ending, or if he just doesn't want to. The fact that Drizzt gave anything with sentient powers to Regis on a boat is just plain crazy. Also, is this rogue guy a doppleganger? Finally, will there be another book, or will we be left hanging? I think your average fantasy novel fan would prefer closure, but are any fantasy novel fans normal???? Finally, I think the whole apathy theme spills over into every part of the book, even the fight scenes. Don't get me wrong, I totally recommend this, but be warned, I am a tsr/forgotten realms novel addict. :)
Rating: Summary: Bad ending? well, sort of Review: Another great book from R.A. Salvatore. I can admit though that the ending left you hanging. But what R.A. Salvatore book hasn't left you wanting to read more...
Rating: Summary: An Inspiring Adventure, Review: R.A. Salvatore has done it again. He has added new depth to some of the most interesting characters in of science fiction/fantasy liturature. I couldn't put this book down. Hopefully, he will continue to write more about the life of Drizzt.
Rating: Summary: Great Book!, More Salvatore Genius. Review: Salvatore shows us his writing genius again by being able to write such a great book with the page restrictions and all the editing that TSR inc. forces him to follow. It could easily have been one of his greatest if it could have been the length of one of his non TSR books, ex. The Demon Awakens. I really enjoyed reading about Entreri in detail. I am glad that the rumors a year ago about him not writing any more for TSR were false. Too bad the ending seemed rushed. Overall a great book though!
