Summary: SALVATORE STRIKES AGAIN
Review: I am as big a fan of Drizzt as any, though Bob told me personally that the only appearance of Drizzt in this book is the journal entries, however, I'm sure Mr. Salvatore will not let his readers down. Wulfgar is as good a character as Drizzt and I'm just as anxious to hear of his strugles as Drizzt's. I know you won't let us down Bob. To those reading this review, if you hear of any more interesting rumors please email me at the following address. Thanks.

Summary: the coming masterpiece.
Review: I am a reader of R.A. Salvatore. I have to admitt, without this author I would not be reading. I have enjoyed him from the Dark Elf Trilogy, to the Canticle, to the Woods Out Back, and now the Demon Awakens. I think this book is going to be great as well. I can't wait for it. I am a big AD&Der, and am fascinated with fantasy.

Summary: i cant wait to have this latest addition to my collection!
Review: about two years ago my friend let me on to salvators world and ever since i havn't been able to put it down. i have every book he wrote and cant wait to get this one. along with all of the dark elf novels i recommend the demon series, i still havn't read the latest but i cant wait for that as well.

Summary: Great Book, bad change in main character
Review: Ok, I think this book and all the other books by R.A. Salvatore (Bob) have been wonderful. But I have to admit, I would much rather hear about the on going adventures of Drizzt Do'Urden then the trials of Wulfgar. He's a good charecter and all but a hole book on him?!? But I will have faith in Bob and I would like to get in touch with him to talk about his books. Thanks.

Summary: It is finally coming
Review: As an avid Drizzt fan, I am a little disheartened by the rumor that Drizzt will not be putting in an appearance. Hopefully this is a rumor but only the man really knows anyway. I definatly give this book 5 stars already. I dont need to read it to know it is going to be another masterpiece. If I had it my way though, Zak would be here still and Cattie-Brie would be where she should...with Drizzt! I am completly looking forward to the September release.

Summary: A book centered on Wulfgar?
Review: So, what has Salvatore got for us this time? From the short summery and the preview (from The Demon Spirit) I've read, it seems like we're up to an adventure with Wulfgar at its center. I've no doubt Salvatore would give us another wonderful sequel, but I'd sure miss Drizzt. Bob, don't let us down!

Summary: Oh, how I wish it was September!
Review: Well, it seems a little silly to give five stars to a book I have not read yet, but why not? I hear this book will only contain essays by Drizzt. Too bad, considering he is my favorite, but I do want to see what happens to Wulfgar. While he isn't the most interesting (to me at least) this new twist is a good idea. A dark, acoholic, bully, what a change! But really, how could we expect him to be the same after a six year tenure in the Abyss? Then again maybe I'm still lamenting that it was him brought back and not Zak.

Summary: A good change of pace in the series
Review: You know, if you read the entire legacy of Drizzt straight through (which you may be doing with the new book coming out soon), it is actually quite relaxing to read about a character other than Drizzt. Wulfgar, by no means, is a boring character. Despite what others say, I think this book was actually quite entertaining, and unlike other reviewers, I could care less if Salvatore uses some of the same phrases over sometimes. It really didn't annoy me. These books are meant for entertainment, and to maybe teach us a thing or two along the way, who cares about the occasional grammar slip? Besides, the story was not all that weak, and the action scenes were not all that fantastical (considering there weren't nearly as many of them as usual), and it actually makes some sense in a way that it will likely set up the rest of the series.

Summary: Skip this tripe
Review: This installment of the series takes a new direction. Moving away from the constant combat and adventure, Salvatore tells the story of a small town girl and the lord of the castle hopelessly in love with her. While initially slow, I enjoyed the character development and really appreciated the introductory thoughts of Drizzt beginning each chapter. Even though Drizzt isn't in the story, we can see his development as a thoughtful and introspective character. At first skeptical, I ended up enjoying the book.

Summary: Completely different style for RAS
Review: I agree it starts out QUITE slow with seperate stories running. Its very difficult to see how they will combine. The combination is not predictable. Lots of time spent on character development in this book so that everything the characters do is consistent and believeable.

This book is basically about Wulfgar's torment. Its the first RAS book I shed a tear over. Not everyone is a ultra hero or ultra villian. Characters are flawed, and they are shown suffering from their flaws.

I have to be honest and call it a "romantic" book. I got sucked into it because of the characters, and had this been writen by someone else I would have never read it. But since its about my buddy Wulfgar, I thouroughly enjoyed it.

You should ONLY read this book if you have grown to care about the characters it contains, namely Wulfgar. If not, find another book to read because I think you will not enjoy it, or you will get the wrong impression of RAS books.

In the end this turns out to be one of RAS best books, and probably his most successful character book. He accomplished in this one book for Wulfgar what he did in The Dark Elf Trilogy for Drizzt.
