Summary: Its sheer visual impact will blow you away.
Review: Well designed, well collated book that doesn't scrimp on production values. Behind-the-scenes stills pack a mean wallop. However, if you're looking for depth of prose, check out other more text-oriented Star Wars literature

Summary: A sure-fire favorite for your Star Wars library.
Review: What can I say -- this one's reeeeeeeally cool. Packed with tons of rare photos that I've never seen, chock full of excellent reference material on vehicles and costumes. A bit light on real meaty info, although I did find out a few things that -- gasp! -- I didn't know before (which is saying quite a bit since I'm kind of a sponge for useless Star Wars info...my friends refuse to play SW Trivial Pursuit with me anymore ^_^). The book's real strength is the behind-the-scenes shots: for example, there are five pages dedicated to the building of the prototype Star Destroyers *alone*, and seven pages packed with tons of photos of the development of Boba Fett and his costume. And if the contents of the book alone aren't worth the hefty price tag (which they are), the book itself as an artifact definitely is. Beautifully huge and heavy, very high-quality paper, well-made, excellent construction and layout, complete with a nice sturdy slipcase which is equally well-designed with a large flap that opens and closes with a metal clasp. If you wanna take the plunge on just about the ultimate pre-Special Edition Star Wars tome, I definitely recommend this one to my fellow hardcore SW fans.

Summary: The ultimate in Star Wars obsessiveness
Review: While Deborah Fine's decision (or lack of) to place just about everything ever having to do with the Star Wars Trilogy is admirable, it makes for lousy reading. Luckily, I was only looking for an obsessive photo book and "Star Wars Chronicles" is just that. Few articles make for dry fireplace reading, but the amount of visual material far makes up for this. In all my years of Star Wars book collecting, NEVER have I found a photo of the unused "Anchorhead" set, nor have I found anything short of fan magazines which feature material regarding the hopeless "Star Wars Holiday Special" of 1978. This book truly is a treasure (and at the retail price of $150, will stay that way) and will be the crown jewel of any SW collection. Beware the packaging: the hardboard slipcase is notorious for damage and the velcro clasp is held on with only the cheesiest of hot glue. *sigh* And with all of this geeky obsessiveness, would you think that I could find ONE decent picture of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from "A New Hope"? Guess I'll have to wait for Steve Sansweet's entry

Summary: This is the definative archival STAR WARS Trilogy book!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: Wow! This book is spectacular! It is full of great color photos from all three Original films, and I especially loved the behind the scenes shots. There's also a few pages dedicated to the Holiday Special, something that many fans never saw. As if that wasn't enough, there's tons of information, making it a great reference guide. An extremely attractive book, it is well made--very high-quality. ANY die-hard SW fan will LOVE this book. (great gift-idea!) It is well worth the price.
