Rating: Summary: fantastic!!!!! Review: If you want to own any book on Star Wars, this should be it. From the case it comes in to the fold out pages this is THE Star Wars book. It has everything any Star Wars fan could ever want and then some. What I liked the most about it was the photos and the attention to detail. I was very glad I decided to add it to my collection.
Rating: Summary: Great if you can afford it, thankfully there's alternatives Review: If you want to read in depth articles, skip it. But if you want superior photos of all things Star Wars, this is the best! Prop builders, costumers, and model builders should all own at least one copy of this book. Well worth the price!

Rating: Summary: Amazing photos poor text Review: If you're a Star Wars fan looking for information on exactly how the movies were filmed, this book isn't what you're looking for. If you scan the pages, the basic information is here, but the text, such as it is, is more like that of a "Tolkein Encyclopaedia" discussing the characters as if they were real [the info on the design and creation of the films is frequently in small type almost as an aside]. As a movie fan, rather than a fantasy fan, I'd have been disappointed, except that there are so many pictures of almost everything, including the prototypes for the various models, models, sets and characters from different angles, shots of every TV special, spin off book, etc, that the failure of the basic text is almost inconsequential. The book was written before the release of the Star Wars Special Ed, however, so there is only brief information on that. Nevertheless, this is a true must have for hard core Star Wars fans.

Rating: Summary: Serious Fans, Don't Let the Price Daunt You... Review: Its WORTH IT... You will probably never see so much information and so many photos as in this book. (It even has some amusing things like a chart of time it takes to travel between planets...)It covers EVERYTHING from the trilogy.
Rating: Summary: A Must Have for Any Star Wars Fan Review: Star Wars Chronicles is THE book to have in your collection. It shows all the behind the scenes information and photos about characters, ships, and locales. If you buy only one SW book this year - make it this one.
Rating: Summary: Great if you can afford it, thankfully there's alternatives Review: Star Wars Chronicles may be the best single Star Wars photo reference out there, but nearly the same thing can be accomplished for much cheaper by getting a few other books: DK's Star Wars Visual Dictionary in combination with Sansweet's Action Figure Archive (as good of a movie photo-reference as it is a toy one). Add to this From Star Wars to Indiana Jones and the Magic of Myth and you have little reason left to crack open an expensive copy of Chronicles. That being said, here's where this book earns high marks: 1) Cantina Aliens (the best photos anywhere) 2) The Holo-Chess pieces 3) Boba Fett (6 pgs) 4) Vehicle models, including many prototypes & the Tauntaun 5) Jabba's palace aliens And here is where I find it lacking: 1) Imperial Troop Costumes 2) Costumes of the main characters after Star Wars: ANH 3) Set photos (including the Falcon interior) 4) The Bounty Hunters (aside from Fett) A fantastic book if you can afford it; but had I not purchased mine used for half price, I doubt I'd be willing to shell out $150 or even $100 for it.
Rating: Summary: Counterbalancing the guy from Moscow Review: The guy from Moscow who made the snide comment, abviously didn't read the book, so I'm trying to counterbalance his review. The whole staff is already making plans to stand in the line to see the movie. I also run a gaming league and many gamers are looking forward to the movie as well. Paul Sundling
