Review: ... What it lacks in reading material it more than makes up for in photographs. The detail shown makes you appreciate even more, if it were possible, the skill that went into the model making. I spent many happy hours admiring the finite details that this book highlights brilliantly. Also the opportunity to see prototype models as well is more than welcome, giving an insight to the creative process. Overall, I would say that this is an essential purchase for SW fans. But, until we get a book that combines both in depth narrative AND crisp photographs then the ultimate Star Wars book is still waiting to be written.Oh, and it's size and weight makes it murder to read in bed!!

There are many drawings of aliens, ships, and anything else you've ever seen in the films. Its impressive presentation only adds to the worth of this book. A definite delight for the Star Wars fan.

Review: A gift for my birthday, my wife bought this for me with some reservation. Even at a wonderful discount it was a steep investment for an oversized picture book. What I received surpassed my expectations - and well worth more than what was paid for it. It is a complete look at the trilogy, from models to storyboards to costume design to special effects to background character information. I am a veteran of the trilogy, having seen Star Wars: A New Hope over 400 times since 1977 - this book teaches me something new each time I open it.

I highly recommend The Star Wars Chronicles.

Review: Although spendy, this book is the ultimate reference. If you like making reproduction props, or are just curious for an ultimate behind-the-scenes look at them, this is the book. In making my props, the book more than paid for itself. Examples: 6 pages of Boba Fett photos, several four-page fold-outs of the Starships, detailed photos of both the cantina and Jabba's court masks (tres cool), and countless other photos of props, actors, and sets. It even has photos of stuff that never made it to the movies.

Review: As a huge fan and abid collector of Star Wars, my girlfriend bought it for me as an anniversary present.. At an expensive 195 Australian Dollars, this book had a lot to live up to.. And of course it did.. Although a little short of written content, the photos are more than enough to keep you glued to each and every page. This is sure to be one book that will increase in value as time goes on. Be sure to look at the complete matching set of books to add to your collection. As a whole this book is beautifully presented, and will teach any star wars fan a little more about the star wars trilogy.
