Summary: Definitive Fantasy Epic
Review: The Dragonlance Chronicles (recommended to me by a friend) were my first foray into the world (an entire realm in itself) of fantasy literature at the bookstore several years ago. I had no clue what I was getting myself into, but I purchased the books and, being an avid reader, immediately devoured the first book in the trilogy. I must say that I was completely blown away by Ms. Weis and Mr. Hickman.

This world, these stories, and these characters are by far some of the most detailed, realistic and true to life characters- even if you have never met a dwarf. By reading the first few chapters alone, the descriptive powers of these two amazing authors make you feel like you've known the characters, their entire races' histories, and you can almost FEEL the tension in the air when the characters are in danger. A truly amazing read indeed, second only to Tolkien's works but only because Tolkien was more influential and came first.

Think elves are little midgits who make toys? Don't know your dragons from your wyverns? Well this is a great place to start learning about the wonderful world of fantasy literature. You couldn't pick a better, easier to understand, yet complex story that is ultimately about human nature's frailty and it's wavering between good and evil, yet still holding much sway in the universe. Go buy this. Now.

Summary: Five Stars Aren't Enough To Do This Series Justice
Review: The Dragonlance Chronicles is by far the best fantasy series I have ever read. And that list includes Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, David Eddings' Belgariad, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and R.A. Salvator's Dark Elf Trilogy to name a few. Weis and Hickman craft a masterpiece of a story, with a motley cast of characters the readers will come to know and love almost as much as I have after countless readings of this trilogy. These three books are responsible for launching the Dragonlance Saga, as well as bringing countless new readers into the fantasy fold.

Summary: You will never regret buying it!
Review: The Dragonlance Chronicles is the BEST fantasy series I've ever read. I first read it when I was really young, and I was so amazed, that I read it in one night. Since then i'm reading it again every once in a while, and it's never boring. It worth every penny you might pay, and a lot more, and a must not only for fantasy lovers, but everybody who likes adventure, thrill and a good laugh.

Summary: Classic, Timeless Masterpiece
Review: The Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy is, without a doubt, the best fantasy that I have ever read. I will blaspheme and admit that I enjoyed this more than J.R.R. Tolkien's legendary The Lord of the Rings. Don't misunderstand me - I greatly acknowledge the impact of those books in the world of literature, but when it came to actually reading the books, I found the characters of Dragonlance to be more well-developed, the plot more interesting - it was generally more enthralling overall. Highly recommended.

Summary: Solid storytelling and a very mature plot for any age
Review: The Dragonlance Chronicles Trilogy. Even though its a fanstasy book, this series has a unimaginable amount of unexpected twists. The books are great, really. The writing is solid and there is everything from broken hearts, betrayals up the ying yang, deaths of central characters (no, they don't come back to life with a resurrection spell), unexpect reunions, lost chances, regret, and falls from grace; all of which is set in a world of swords and magic and dragons. But the characters are more interesting than the swords, magic, and dragons could ever be.

I have to disagree with the comparisons to Tolkien's work. There are certain plot elements that are essential for any type of fantasy work, but you can't argue against the fact that the basic plotlines of these two trilogies are totally different: one is searching for something to help with a problem, the other has already found something and seeks destroy it in order to remedy the problems it brings. Maybe the reviewers just see simple similarities, such as larger parties being split, but that's something that happens in a lot of fantasies in order to keep it from becoming stagnant. Whether the authors may or may not have had inspiration from Tolkien, the story really is their own.

Anyway, this is an incredibly solid story that's about more than just dragons and swords. I recommend this to anyone looking for good books that stir the emotions. However, you may need to be over a certain age and have experienced certain events to really appreciate it. Go and read it!

Summary: The best
Review: These books had to be the best, I absolutely loved them and I'm only a teenager! I found Dragons of a Summer Flame and Dragons of a Fallen Sun first, but then I got the Chronicles. Everything is masterfully written, and understandable. Tolkien was great, but hard to understand as where Weis and Hickman were in plain old English. I have since then read all the books by them, and I beg for more! If you haven't read them, I suggest you do.

Summary: One of the greatest books ever written
Review: This books is probably one of the best boks on Earth, next to JRR Tolkein's books. Right away it brings you into the story, capturing you like a fly in amber. Margaret Weis has outdone herself with these novels. It is a story of eight forced heroes that have to go on a journey to save the world from a gathering darkness. This is one of the best examples of fantasy ever. It is full of Elves, Dwarves, Kender, Magic, Mystery, and, of course, Dragons.
