Review: The strategy guide is both more readable and more helpful than the game manual. I read it through, and continue to consult it while playing.It's true that the stragety guide focuses more on game basics than on grand strategy, but that's inevitable in a game as complex as Civ3; there is no one "right" strategy. If you're looking for more strategic ideas, take a look at some of the fan web sites devoted to the game.

Review: There isn't much in this book to make it worth buying. A few tips, most of which you'd learn on your own after playing one game of Civ3. I consult the manual more than I do this book when playing. Skip this book and use the money to buy caffeinated drinks so you can play Civ3 all night long.

Review: This guide is only for those people who don't know the difference between a spearman and a warrior, or for those who get eliminated while playing the Chieftain level, which isn't an easy feat. Otherwise, it does the job it's supposed to.

Summary: Not very helpful and sometimes misleading
Review: This strategy guide is not very helpful at all. It contains little useful information, and some incorrect information. For example, it says that one needs 80,000 culture points for a cultural victory when in fact one needs 100,000 points. A buyer has a right to expect that people who write strategy guides will at least know the rules.
