Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Guide Ever!! Review: This guide is the best because it has detailed maps. It also has a real good desription for each character and enemy. The mixing charts are cool. The author forgot the Rocket Launcher though, but it is still a good guide. The items section is real cool too. The best part is the walk-through and its secrets section.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: I honestly can't recomend this guide. Review: This guide was not very helpful to me at all. Almost no detail in the maps, didn't help out with puzzles (thats not too big but it could've explained how to get the solution), some screenshots in the wrong place and some misleading information.First of all, the walkthrough is very dull. It'll tell you how to get to certain areas, but I found several screenshots in the wrong place, and the walkthrought moved very quickly. There wasn't enough detail to tell me what I'm running into. They don't tell you how enemy placements work, or what items could be replaced as. The Quick-Decisions card was nice, but I could've gotten along without it. Also, the guide doesn't tell you what items nemesis drops. While it would tell me sometimes, something was always missing. The puzzle solutions that they claim to be there, aren't really there. They hardly tell you how to get to a solution. For example at one point in the guide when your searching for a password it reads and I quote "Just look around for a while and bingo! (That's not the password)." The problem with this? What am I looking for? I don't know! It just tells me to look around. Every other guide I saw told me EXACTLY what I was looking for at that point in the game. The maps are from the ingame so of course they have no level of detail in them, making the maps useless. The only thing this guide really did state to me were the secrets. However, it didn't cover too much about the rankings or the mini-game. My Advice, VERSUS BOOKS and BradyGAMES made a guide to RE3 and they're much better than this. (The BradyGAMES guide even tells you what's in Jill's diary!) So you might want to looke away from Prima for this guide.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A good guide but with a few problems Review: This guide was very informative for the most part. mapping out just about every step you take. However, sometimes the book will just say "go to (insert location)" and not even try to tell you how to get there. The monster section was informative but somehwhat of a dissapointment. It did have every monster in good description, but little info on strategies to use against them. My biggest problem, and this mind you is unforgivable to me, the author makes a lame attempt to tell you how to get the rocket launcher. The exact line is something like "A good friend of mine at Capcom told me you can use the lab key to open the locker where the rocket launcher is. I haven't gotten it to work however. Maybe you will have more luck." I got so mad because he failed at it and made NO attempt to figure out how to get the rocket launcher. Yes, the key is needed to open the locker, but first you have to get it imprinted with special clearance data at the computer next to the machine where you purify the water. It was not hard to figure that out but the author made no attempt to figure it out. Extreme laziness on his part. If you got the game, you may as well get the book, I didn't get it until after I beat the game, but it's definately worth the money. ALl in all it's a pretty good guide with very few mistakes in it. The only other minus is that it does not have a weapons chart.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great, but not Great Review: This is a great guide, the best for this game, it basically tells you everything. It mentions the weapons but forgets one. It also doesn't explain how to get the rocket launcher either. He could have been lazy or just did'nt have the time. He gave it his all and it was more than good enough.
Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: Author responds to reviewer comment Review: This is in response to one of the comments posted. The writer indicated his disappointment over the lack of a solution to a small puzzle near the very end of the game, and called me "extremely lazy." I am aware of the omission and apologize for it. At the time the guide was being written, the puzzle had not been finalized and I therefore used "placeholder" text which, unfortunately, was included when the book went to print. However, let me note that you do not need to ever solve this puzzle to complete the game. The fact that no one has previously complained about this omission leads me to believe that either they were able to solve the puzzle themselves or else they finished the game and didn't care that they couldn't open the locker. I believe that his harsh criticism is therefore unwarranted, and trust that you will otherwise enjoy and appreciate the guide. Thank you for considering it.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Poor guide. Review: While better than 1 or 2 other guides I have read, this guide is sloppy. They don't list all the the different choices, etc. in the game, pictures are wrong and in different places than where they should be. In fact, it's less frustrating to figure the puzzles out yourself then trying to read this guide.
