Rating: Summary: superb manga Review: If not for the storyline, you should get a glimpse of the beautifully done artwork by CLAMP. The four-woman team is famous for their shojo style artwork- something that no manga fan should miss.
Rating: Summary: It's only the beginning... Review: okay, it may not seem like much since it has only started. The art is absolutely breath taking and it's so detailed. For those who like fast plots, don't worry. The next couple graphic novels really speed things along (I have all ten of the chinese set).
Rating: Summary: Good artwork, but boring story Review: The artwork of X is as stunning as all other Clamp's manga, however, the story itself isn't that great, esp compared with many other good manga. Many scenes just keep showing up again and again in an unnecessary manner. If for artwork alone, I would have given it 5 stars, but the story only worth 1 star, IMHO.
Rating: Summary: A must Read for Manga fans Review: This is a Book That really makes you Think about Destiny. It is a MUST READ!!!!
Rating: Summary: Kamui is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a great story! Kamui looks cool with his power!! The story drives me impatiently to read the next edition! I do really HIGH recommend this book to read! it is really unusual story with highly artwork done by CLAMP.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: This is, by far, the best comic series from Japan being translated today. The story line is rich and the artwork is stunning. While the story line isn't for everyone (about the end of the world), it's well presented and thought-provoking. The graphic novels are a must for those who are fans of the on-going monthly series presented in the publisher's Animerica Extra comic anthology (I think the next book is about to be relased in the next couple of months.). I recommend this book and series for anyone who enjoys thought-provoking stories, for anyone who enjoys gorgeous artwork, manga fans and comic fans in general.
Rating: Summary: The quintessent comic book series... Review: X (or X/1999) by Clamp is the perfect union between words and art, the kind that is prominently missing from American work. The storyline is rich, layered, and intricate, and the art is immaculate, with theological symbols from at least five different religions. However, the work is undeniably dark...it is about the end of the world, after all. Still, there are moments of exquisite beauty also, and the characters are always attractive. But, if seeing those characters ripped into six pieces with their bowels spilling out is not your cup of tea, I advise you to pass this one up. A final word of warning. X/1999 is an ongoing series. In Japan, they are in their thirteenth volume, and it is expected by some to run at least to twenty-two. Here, Viz has compiled the first four books that have been translated into English and has, inexplicably, stopped. If you think that you might get addicted, it may be better to stay away. Nonetheless, I recommend it to anyone who loves this sort of media, and even those who think that they do not. It will not disappoint.
Rating: Summary: X/1999 : Intermezzo Review: X/1999... a must have for anyone who has seen the movie. It explains a lot that the movie never did. but it does seem to trail on a bit ^_^
