Rating: Summary: Great stories - uplifting! Review: This wonderful graphic novel features the Justice League as featured on the Cartoon Network television show of the same name: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Wally West), Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern (John Steward) and Hawkgirl. In keeping with the television show, the illustration quality is a little on the low side, and the stories are simpler than in most graphic novels. But, on the up-side, there is no gratuitous cleavage included nor are the stories dark and filled with angst. Instead, what you have is a collection of seven great stories that are uplifting, and of the sort that you don't mind handing to the young reader in your house. My ten-year-old son greatly enjoyed this book, and I enjoyed giving it to him. We highly recommend this book to you! In case you are interested the seven stories are: Disarmed (Justice League Adventures #1 - Jan. 2002) - After a strange machine is found in Oakville, an alien shows up to warn the Justice League that it is a bomb that accidentally went off course during an interstellar war. Can they disarm it in time? The Star Lost (Justice League Adventures #3 - Mar. 2002) - When the Justice League find a space ship near Earth, they investigate it, and find that among the many cryogenic chambers, four contain still living people. These people turn out to be freedom fighters, and when brought to Earth they find that they have the same powers as Superman. But, sometimes when one has been fighting too long, one loses sight of what is important... Wolf's Clothing (Justice League Adventures #6 - Jun. 2002) - It's the Sale of the Century - Chronos has captured Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, and has called *all* of the super-villains together for an auction. But, this is less of a sale and more of a con! Must There Be a Martian Manhunter (Justice League Adventures #10 - Oct. 2002) - Everyone loves Superman, but no one knows what to make of the equally heroic Martian Manhunter. But, when a super-villain puts Superman out of condition the world needs him more than ever. But, maybe they need a Martian Manhunter as well. The Moment (Justice League Adventures #11 - Nov. 2002) - When Chronos comes up for parole; the Justice League is against it. When released Chronos sets out to do something good, but his meddling nearly shatters the time-stream. It's up to Flash and the Atom to stop him! Cold War (Justice League Adventures #12 - Dec. 2002) - When an unlikely alliance of cold-criminals (Mister Freeze, Captain Cold, and others) take over the government of an African nation, the Justice League intervenes. But, when they are soundly thrashed by the villains, they realize that they have to take a closer look at the situation. Local Hero (Justice League Adventures #13 - Jan. 2003) - When the Green Lantern is called back to Planet Oa, the Justice League calls on local hero All-Star. This is a big responsibility for All-Star (high school girl Olivia Dawson), one that might cost her more than she knows. [This is my favorite adventure in the book!]
