Summary: Would have been a good book, but...
Review: I would have enjoyed the book, but as many people have pointed out, there were many glaring errors and/or omissions. The one that really annoyed me was Alberta, British Columbia, Canada. Not once, but three times. Alberta is a province. British Columbia is a province. There is no city named Alberta in BC. If the writers can make a geographical error like this, is the quality of this book worth your [money]? Personally, when I find errors like that, and other glaring mistakes like with Wolverine's claws.. I feel I've wasted my money.

Summary: Good--Not Great--Movie Novelization
Review: I'd like to give the novelization of "X-Men" four stars, but I can't for two glaring reasons: 1) the authors claim Wolverine has four claws per hand TWICE in the book, and 2) the authors claim Cyclops melts a metal door with his eye beams.

Concerning the first point, anyone who knows anything about the X-Men knows Wolverine has only three claws per hand. Concerning the second, anyone who knows anything about the X-Men knows Cyclops' eyes emit a force beam, NOT a heat beam.

That being said, however, the book did a splendid job of delving into the thoughts and inner motivations of several characters, Wolverine, Rogue, and Magneto included. I enjoyed the book immensely (despite its glaring errors--did ANYONE at Marvel edit it?) as I waited in line for tickets to the film version, and I was able to compare the two immediately: Logan's introduction to Rogue was much better in the book, though the final battle was better onscreen. Most of the rest followed the book closely, and I liked the extra dialogue presented in the book.

All in all, it's a good movie novelization made weaker by its authors' apparent lack of background on the subject matter.

Summary: Possibly Worse then Daredevil!
Review: If any of you have read my reveiw for Daredevil you know what i mean. I hated the Daredevil Movie Tie-In and i did not like this one that much either. For starters I am a huge fan of the X-Men ( Wolverine is my favoerite! ) In the book Wolverine has four claws that come out of his nucles. Well and body who has seen the movies, or read a comics knows that he only has three claws that come out from in between the nucles. After reading that the book just wasn't the best for me. Too much was changed from the movie.

Overall: Well...It is an easy read, but not up to par.

Summary: Good enough for 4, but not for 5
Review: Ok, by the time you read this you've already seen the movie and probably the DVD as well. But essentialy the book is pretty good. There are reasons(of course) why it doesn't get five stars. First off, the relationships between Mystique and Rouge(before she got her powers from Ms. Marvel) are not there. Plus we never get to see Logan's history, from his CIA days to "the lab." Other than that, the book is pretty good.

Summary: A "must" fo all X-Man fans!
Review: Over the past 60 years, a phenomenon has occurred across planet Earth. A few people discover they possess extraordinary powers. Some bend metal. Some change weather patterns. Some read minds. Some have laser vision. Some regenerate missing body parts and heal in record time. Some use their powers for good. Some don't. As time passes, more and more mutants appear and their presence terrifies the general public. There's even a movement in Washington to require mutants to register their powers with the federal government. Politicians use the issue to whip their constituencies into a feeding frenzy of fear, while mutants suffer ostracism, rejection and solitary lives. The majority of mutants wish to use their power for the greater good and they present a strong moral argument before Congress against registration, as they know it will lead to even more discrimination. Led by Professor Charles Xavier, the caring group creates an environment where all mutants are accepted and taught to live with their gifts. Working in direct opposition to the Professor and his X-Men, a few militant mutants want to use their gifts to dominate ordinary humans rather than co-exist with them. Their leader, Magneto, is convinced the government is out to contain and control their species. He and his maverick mutants create havoc and destruction wherever they go. The inevitable showdown between the Professor and his misguided counterpart makes up the general plot of the story, but there's a lot more to this slim volume than action. What makes this novelization of the summer's blockbuster movie so satisfying is that underneath the action, the sub-plots address some very human issues like good versus evil, acceptance, tolerance and self-esteem. There are great lessons to be learned from the mutants and their struggle. Maybe there's hope for this planet after all. X-Men is worth a closer look. Enjoy!

Summary: Amazing! A MUST HAVE for X-MEN fans!
Review: The story is much like the comic except for a few small things, that were worked for the film itself. Logan or Wolverine, shows what he's got just like the character in the comic and Rogue, now reworked to be more like Jubilee works great. The battle as well, holds well. At first glance, I didn't exactly know what I was going to get into but as you read on you feel for what's happening. It's not just a fight every scene instead we get a real character driven story, that we can relate to.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This book is wonderful. I read it before I saw the movie, and I was immediately drawn into it. It was so suspenseful, so well done, that I couldn't put it down. I'm not really a true x-men fan, I just remembered watching it every now and then when I was eight or nine years old. Now, when I found out they were making a movie about it, I thought that was pretty cool, since the story line of the series was interesting to watch. When I read the book, it really kept me going. The way the characters were developed were really well written. Of course, there are some places in the book that are different than in the movie, for example, how Rouge and Wolverine met. But that didn't bother me, I could only think about how involving and intriguing the book was. Read it, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: This book started out with the early years of Magneto, Cyclops, Storm, and Rogue when they became aware of their mutant powers. Then it went on with Wolverine and Rogue meeting to them becoming apart of the X-Men team. If you are intersted in seeing the movie or just like the X-Men this is good book to buy.

Summary: The X-Men movie novelization!
Review: This book was OK, it was not what I expected it to be. I amsure the movie will be SO much better. I was expecting more fromMystique. In the preview there seems to be a big showdown between Mystique and Wolverine, but in the book Wolverine punches her in the nose. It was a waiste of my time and money. I advise everyone to just wait for the movie to come out! I am not saying it was a bad book, because it wasn't. I was impressed by the storyline, character development, and dialouge. But other than that it wasn't that great. It was an easy read and I finished it within 7 hours... It was OK...
