Rating: Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Review: Now I like X-men books and all, but this one is just the dumbest thing I have ever seen! It just seems like the originality for this book was stored on the shelves and forgotten like some boring book. Plus the comparsions between the world of the X-men and Planet X are so similar you may find yourself having trouble trying to distinguish between the two reallities. Plus the ending looks like it was rushed and waaaaaaay to simple. The character descriptions are the only reasons way this book gets even one star. Aviod this one at all costs
Rating: Summary: What a Gulty Pleasure!!! Review: O.K. I know when I saw this book, I raed the backflap & then ran from the store, wondering if my head would explode from the concept!! BUT... once my husband bought it for me & I read it...WOW!!! Great writing! Friedman not only captures the crew of te Enterprise(not surprising considering all the Star Trek novels he's written), but he also nailed down the X-Men. I found myself cheering the charecters on all through the book. Especially priceless though is an interaction between Wolverine and Guinan. Lots of action, and lots of humor. ( A great relief from all the usual pathos.) I really would like to see Friedman take on another project like this.
Rating: Summary: Ok premise, but the writing lacked Review: Oh boy, where do I start......from the beginning, I guess. This book is a bit confusing if the reader didn't get the comic book that this book uses as a backstory for how the X-men got to the Enterprise's reality. And of course, Worf had to tag along. Well, let me put that another way: I think that Worf should be part of any Next Generation movie, but couldn't Friedman have written it better, so it wouldn't be pure coincidence that he happened to be on the Enterprise when the X-men appeared? Please, we're not morons. And two things nag me throughout the whole book: The Draa'kon, are bloodthirsty hate-mongers who want to control the universe. Oh my god, could Friedman have been any LESS imaginative?????? There's ALWAYS a bloodthirsty enemy!!!!!!!!! Another thing that nagged me was that when the Enterprise was fighting the Draa'kon, they didn't use quantum torpedoes, why? AND Friedman wrote that there was damage on deck 33, or something like that. But there are only 28 de! cks on the Enterprise-E. Please Friedman, try harder next time!
Rating: Summary: An excellent way to bring together two genres Review: Outside of watching "The X-Men" movie and looking forward to the next one, I'm not a huge X-Men fan. That being said, this book absolutely floored me. I couldn't put it down and read it in two days (if I wasn't working 18 hours a day at that time it would've been one day). MJ Friedman has with this Star Trek installment, once again, shown why he's one of the top selling Star Trek authors. Thanks to the author for a great read.

Rating: Summary: Not worth the Ink Review: Sadly a good Idea, stolen from the Next Gen series, which was originally stolen from Dr. Who, is subjected to a unsucessful attempt to join two groups that have nothing to do with each other. While the characterizations weren't at all bad, the interactions were. Storm and Picard was forced, and Picard and Archangel was just not a good idea in the first place. But, a disapointing book was made just plain silly with Crusher's offer at the end, and it's reception by the group. Don't bother.
Rating: Summary: No way Review: The Marvel Universe and the Star Trek Universe are two vastly different place and their characters should stay in their respective universes, not in these silly crossovers.
Rating: Summary: Stuck in a Time/Dimension that Fears and Hates Them Review: The planet Xhaldia is facing an interesting blossoming of youths into mutants, or as the inhibitants of the planet call them transformed. The chancellor afraid of these youth and how they may affect society appeals to the Federation, specifically the starship Enterprise E. Meanwhile on station 88 a group of mutants familiar to Marvel comic collectors appear, yes the X-men. Soon the X-Men are guests aboard the Enterprise and drawn into the situation on Xhaldia, especially when hostile aliens start kidnapping the transformed off-planet.
The plot to this crossover novel is not as deep as other Star Trek novels. Then again why should it be. This is basically a story for fun. While there are some deep moments as Friedman;s description of physics in the Star Trek universe attests, and the themes that travel with the X-Men no matter what format they appear in also exemplifies. The main theme being tolerance.
So overall I would say it was fun and interesting to see some of my favourite comic characters guest star in the Star Trek universe and that this book is a light read.
With all due respect to Trekkies and comic book "geeks" if you start this novel with expectations other than a side trip of momentary amusement you are bound to be disappointed. Friedman after all handled the continuity and characterization well but I think everyone will agree this is not War and Peace:).
Rating: Summary: Well done novel! Review: The X-Men and THE ENTERPRISE-E together again. This one was a very well done blending of the X-Men into the Star Trek universe. As you can imagine, Wolverine was hard to control, Archangel pushed the rules to the limits, and Storm was definitely their leader. The combination of Wolverine and Worf was particularly interesting. The situation they were dropped into was also well written. When a planet suddenly develops a crop of super-powered mutants of their own, the Enterprise is asked to help the authorities, only to find an alien ship there ahead of them to "harvest" the new mutants. With the help of the X-Men, the Enterprise bridge crew rescue the transformed teens, but not without cost. The X-Men themselves do a bit of growing. Colossus finds himself guilty of the same snap judgement he's accused non-mutants of having. In all a well written story.
