Summary: Great Read but.....
Review: Overall a great book. Gotham City faces something worse than even the Joker or Penguin could do to it, Earthquake! Batman battles those who come out of the darkness to take advantage of the destruction while Bruce Wayne fights to save his city politically. Only mistake I made was reading the No Mans Land Comics(which were even better) before I read this so It spoiled some of the suspense for me. I would advise against doing that.

Summary: Interesting comic book, with a few flaws.
Review: The greatest entity about Batman: Cataclysm is that it had excellent artistry; most of the pictures/scenes made sense, and are clear. For the most part, this book contains well-thought writing, which makes it better to understand . Although, there are a couple cons in this book that I must share with you. There are about four grammar errors, and some of them may keep you mind-boggled for the rest of day/night thinking about what they were trying to express. Once you get to meet Ra Al' Ghul, he can make the story confusing because of his wording. Overall, this book will get very exciting with its art, and knowing if you're a Batman fan, you'll love this book.

Summary: Pretty Boring
Review: There's at least a dozen better Batman stories out there. This one throws in the usual earthquake cliches, the Huntress's usual rants, repeated deification of Bruce Wayne regarding the quake-proofing of his real estate, and so many ham-handed attempts at heart-string-tugging that you'll think you're a cadaver in a medical school. (That was a terrible metaphor, wasn't it? I'm very sorry.) There's really three plot threads: the destruction caused by the quake, a Blackgate breakout, and the "Quakemaster." The whole Quakemaster subplot is just awful; I was hoping that he would actually level the rest of the city just so the story would end. The best sequences are three short vignettes with Two-Face, Penguin, and Leslie Thompkins. As a final complaint, the book is cheap. Physically, as well as literally. Cheap paper.

Summary: HOW DID THEY POSSIBLY PULL IT OFF???!!!
Review: They actually were able to pull it off. An awesome book. It starts off with the one villian that Batman can do absolutely nothing to it. An earthquake that measures 7.6 demolishes Gotham. Wayne Manor is in shambles and the Batcave is fully exposed. The Bat team must rush to save the survivors whether they be wondering the streets, under collapsed buildings, or just plain lost in this new land. An excellent ending with great art the entire way through. Wonderfully written and you need to read the followling five volumes entitled No Man's Land to find the finish.

Summary: pretty good Batman storyline
Review: This trade paperback reprints the earthquake storyline that ran through the Batman titles a while ago. I haven't been reading the regular comics, so I picked up this book to see what had been happening in Gotham. It's not a bad collection, but neither is it a great, cohesive, story. The art styles vary quite a bit from issue to issue, which can be disconcerting. Some of the issues reprinted are good stand-alone stories; some are not much more than filler material.

Summary: Shake it baby....
Review: This volume has just about anything you could possibly ask for and almost every Bat character in the Bat universe. Nobody escapes the disaster, the book ends on a high note...at least higher than one might expect, but as soon as you pick up No Man's Land you see that things only get worse.... Moving story and well worth the read, it does stand on its own but you must buy all of the NML volumes if you want some sense of closure.

Summary: bring down Gotham
Review: What we have here is a major earthquake that pretty much destroys Gotham. You get to see what Batman and company would do in the face of a major natural disaster. On a scale that we've never seen (after all, they do close it off). It's a great story with really good art. It helps keep Batman from becoming stale.
