Rating: Summary: FINALLY OUT! Review: Fruits Basket manga is really good. For months people have been bugging the shirokiya store when their new shipment is going to be coming in. Finally fruits basket fans can reasure that it's finally in english. Fruits Basket is a game kind of like duck duck goose. Anyway it's about a very sweet yet naieve girl with a heart of gold name Tohru Honda. Her mother died in a car crash and moved in with her grandpa on her father's side. Though she didn't want to burden her grandpa, since the house is being rebuilt she decided to live in a tent, in the woods. Unknowingly the land she was staying on belonged to the Sohma clan. From then she learns of one of her most popular classmate's has a secret that nobody but some of the members of the sohma clan knows. 13 of the members of the sohma family turn into the spirits of the 12 zodiac animals including the cat. Since she learns of this secret she is offered to stay at the house in exchange for house keeping, cooking etc. If you've seen the anime you'll love the manga. From what a friend told me the anime is only about halfway though the manga series. Which is good, since in the manga we may see what happens after ep 26...or was it 25...oh well... And if it's completely similar to the anime you'll see the Prince Yuki Fanclub. Most of the female student body are in love with Yuki Sohma and have a huge grudge against Tohru because she's friends with him and not them.....hahaha...Anyway, they are literally obsessed with him. They made, Chibi Yuki keychain ornaments, hair clips, bobble heads, dolls, etc. This manga is excellent if you like girls manga like card captor sakura or comedy manga like tenchi muyo, and love hina.
Rating: Summary: Fruits Basket Vol. 1: Did it live up to my expectations? Review: Fruits Basket or Furuba as it is known to fans, is something that many fans of manga have been anticipating for a long time. But I myself, had only just heard of it last December. I really had no idea what it was about even though I read about the anime and such. I expected it to be quite different from what it is. Fruits Basket, if you don't know, is about a girl named Tohru Honda whom is an orphan, and is currently living in a tent because her grandfather is fixing up his house so other relatives can live in it as well. She doesn't want to trouble anyone, so she decides to rough for those couple months in a tent. She ends up camping on the property of the Sohma family. A group of young men whom find her and decide to take her in for the night, but she soon finds out that they are a cursed family. Each of them represents a member of the Zodiac and one of them is the cat, the one who didn't get to go the banquet. :( Tohru has always been fascinated with the Zodiac and especially with the cat, she always wished that her sign could be the cat. She soon finds out about their curse and that when they are hugged by a member of the oppositte sex they turn into the Zodiac animal they represent. They decide not to erase her memory and let her stay with them, she does chores for them and cooks for them, and begins to feel quite at home. In fact, she feels so at home, she feels like it is her home. Needless to say, this is NOT what I had thought Fruits Basket was, but I found it very intriguing and fun to learn about the Chinese Zodiac. And the plot is pretty fluffy, but its all in good fun, and the characters are well developed and have their own personalities. The drawing style is nice too. All-in-all, I would say Fruits Basket is a quality Shojo manga, and lived up to my expectations by being something I completely did not expect and still turning out to be very good. I will continue to follow the series. :D God Bless ~Amy
Rating: Summary: Fruits Basket #1 Minh's Book Review Review: I completely adore Fruits Basket. If you read the description, you'd hear all about a zodiac curse and people turning into animals etc etc. What was unexpected about this series, was the deep emotions that are portrayed in it. It's something that most people can relate to at one point in their life. But it's not all drama, it's also full of comedy. It's amazingly upbeat and amazingly depressing all at the same time. Fruits Basket continues to be something I can read/watch over and over again. I never get tired of it.

Rating: Summary: This Will be ur new manga obsession Review: I love fruits basket! I have been an anime and manga otaku for 2 years, and i have never encountered such a kawaii shojo! You will love every single character!(Which is rare for me for there is one character in a manga that i hate with a passion!)Anyway to the story....
Young Tohru Honda just lost her mom and is living in a tent in the woods. Turns out, her tent is pitched on Sohma property. When she is invited to stay in the sohma house..... She learns when they are hugged by the other gender.......*poof* they turn into animals. It may sound stupid, but trust me, it is really woth reading.
Rating: Summary: my favorite manga Review: i was looking for some new manga, so i decided to just look at this one to see what it was about. now i have become addicted to the furuba manga and anime. it is so cute and you will absolutely fall in love with the characters. probably one of the best mangas out there in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: The Best Manga Ever Made Review: The story of 'Fruits Basket' is wonderful! The comedy is comical and the deeper moments are deep. ^.^ And that's how it should be. My favourite moment is in the first book (I believe?) when Tohru explains how everyone has an onigiri on their back with a different flavor of umiboshi in the middle. (Or something like that.) Anyway, she uses it as a brilliant metaphor for different people possessing their own special abilities and personalities. Even though it does get a little bit deeper as the story progresses, I'd save this for a day when I'm in a grumpy mood and need an uplight. Tohru is so kind and sweet it's almost sickening, and sometimes that's what I need.
