Summary: Yay!
Review: I loved the first one and the second is even better, sine the characters have been introduced and the story can really begin. I think that the way CLAMP is advancing the relationship between Chi and Hideki is awesome; please don't hesitate to buy this book because of some nudity. This series is so good it would be a shame! I think the rating is wrong- it should really be T for Teen, 13+ not OT 16+.

Summary: Hooked
Review: I think I read it in a hour! I am so hooked! The artwork is wonderful. The story is intriguing and Chi is a loveable character.

Summary: Clamp does it again
Review: Okay; I'll admit that certain parts of the art in Chobits shouldn't be exposed to children too young. I was 14 when I read Chobits, volume 1, however; and it didn't really make me want to go run naked through the streets, or whatever people seem to think exposure to nudity would do to young girls- however, it DID make me want to read volume 2.

It was a long and grueling wait but as usual the results for Chobits volume 2 were well worth the effort. Okay, I'd like some of the backround writing to have been translated- but the more important parts, like 'grin' and 'copycat' were written nicely if one looked closely. And, you can't exactly get rid of the large letters in the backround- they portrayed a lot of emotion when Hideki would shout in anguish at Chi's actions. Or exposure to girls, in general, in either real life or in.. certain dreams. Naughty, naughty!

The storyline was interesting- it covered a lot about Shimbo and Ms. Shimizu's , leaving very little confusion about it but allowing for a few laughs as Hideki oversees things. It also shows Hideki having divided feelings, as he confides to Yumi that Chi's just a machine but then he goes back home and forgets there's a difference.

All in all, the storyline was rather deep for a comic which could be enjoyed by kids.. I'd say, twelve and up. Unless they were male, or somehow turned on by drawings of naked women. Hideki had a constant obsession with pornography, and Chi had no ideas about modesty, with a tendancy to play copycat to things she saw other people do. While there's less of Chi posing ... the girls in Hideki's porn, Chi DOES go to work in a peep show- however, she doesn't actually show too much; just keep it away from little children. Chi is constantly nonsexual and really very sweet- there is no fear that this is a form of hentai, as Chobits might show a bit of skin but overall it remains both innocent and charming.

Review: Parents: This is porno; not a comic book. Do not let your children order it. It states on the cover that it is suitable for older teens 16 +.

Summary: Cute dreamy story about robots and love
Review: The story line to Chobits follows 19 year old Hideki. He is trying to pass his exams to enter college and meanwhile working as a bus boy at a restaraunt. He has a beautifal test prep teacher, a knock out land lady, the cutest custom model persocom (a robot slave that he found) and a crush on a co-worker. This is very distracting since he has no girl friend and as we are repeatedly told in the story is a virgin. In this book Hideki goes on a date with his cute co-worker and is psyched. Meanwhile his persocom gets into trouble when she goes looking for a job and one of Hideki's friends has mysterious business with the test prep teacher.

It was cool to see the books that Chi, the persocom, liked (small picture books about finding love) and see that exploration of self awareness and love in computers, especially since real people grow so attached to them. We see many of Hideki's friends who have been hurt by falling in love with a persocom or having a friend fall in love with a persocom, and yet Chi has a personality and comes across as very innocent and sweet. Her programmed desire is to be loved. The story isn't sad but it isn't clear what a happy ending would be. (This is part of a series and ends with a bit of a cliff hanger, so we don't find out yet.)

The graphics: The drawing was excellent. The cover art represents the quality well (including the fact that there are quite a few pin-up pics in here). I'm assuming the pin-ups are to help males accept the book, since the plot is very feminine. The layouts were really nice. I particularly liked how there were very narrow frames as spacers, but there was still some important thing shown in those tiny frames. Much of the plot happens visually and not with what characters say.

One thing that bothered me about this book was that it was printed to be read from right to left. This was a little weird. I guess if they had reversed each page and just printed the English like normal that fans would complain. Part of why this bothered me is that there were some interesting things going on with the layouts and I probably missed a bit of that. Anyway, the backwards aspect of the book distracted me.

I recommend this book if it sounds interesting to you. After I read it I wanted to read the sequel. This book might be offensive since much of the story involves showing us the hotties in Hideki's life and him having a hard on is a plot point more than once.

Review: This book is really funny and will have anyone laughing in the first couple of pages. You get to meet a new character named "Black Chii", which is the inner programing of her! I will not tell you anymore but if you have read the first one, this one is the next best thing to get.
