Yes, again the dialogue is pretty lame but what can you work with if you're writing a Christian book about modern times-tough! I think that Marzulli did an excellent job. The scripture references are accurate and the reader should not be discouraged by any of the other biblical text. I also said, armed with the mind-what was I thinking! This book was probably meant to stress Marzulli's personal opinion on the power of prayer. Hats off Marzulli to a wonderfull first-time effort!

I not only read it from cover to cover, I've told my friends about it. Now they want to read it too. If you like books that keep you up until midnight, reading, this book is for you.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Decent Review: This was a decent book. So it has some cheezy dialogue? Big deal. The point of this book is to convey how stong man can be without picking up a weapon. You're always armed. You're armed with your mind. That's good enough.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book unnerves the readers more than they will admit... Review: It is very clear to me after reading through the reviews, "Nephilim" is quickly dismissed by those that want to believe their own innocent (and equally unprovable) ideas about UFOs... And it is loved by those that either simply enjoy good "fiction" or by those that have truly studied Biblical prophecy. Hmmmm... either way a book that is only loved or hated deserves to be read. In the case of "Nephilim", it unearths some possibilities that are intriguing. I quickly dismiss the criticisms from the UFO lovers community because this book steps all over their romantic notions of UFOs. The fact that they hate it is all the more reason to read it. For the Prophecy community, the more steeped in scripture you are the more slowly you will be apt to dismiss the theory surrounding the storyline. Nothing L.A. Marzulli comes up with in this book is able to be disproved by a sole on this planet. Regarding the use of the Book of Enoch, don't be too quick to be offended... This book was found in the caves of Kumran along with the rest of the Old Testament books that sealed the near thousand-year gap from Christ's birth to the King James translation. It has massive credibility. The Left Behind series has been excellent and biblically accurate reading so far. "Nephilim" goes one deep step further in attempting to answer the question that "Left Behind" seems to gloss over - how will those left behind be deceived regarding what really happened at the rapture? Cheers Marzulli! For a first time effort, "Nephilim" is BRILLIANT!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Barely passable formula Christian fiction Review: I can only assume that the other customers who enjoyed this book so much have never seen the X-Files or read a thriller before. There is nothing new here and the "thrills" don't thrill. The book starts out reasonably well, then goes nowhere for 200 pages, and finally manages a slightly interesting finish. An obligatory conversion-to-Christianity scene in the middle of the book is forced and unconvincing. The picture of Christianity presented is shallow and narrow: good Christians always get their pains healed, one good prayer session will cure you of the pain of your 10-year-old son dying, absolutely any situation resolves instantly if you just call on Jesus' name. This is a throwback to Christian fiction before Peretti and others figured out how to weave their evangelical perspective into the plot. Here, the spiritual stuff is tacked on; the characters too slow to realize the trouble they're in; the core premise (UFOs are really demons) poorly developed. There is some promise here in the first and last 100 pages of the book, but one hopes Marzulli's sophomore effort is better than this mediocre debut. If you're really after good commercial Christian fiction, try Left Behind by LaHaye and Jenkins or The Visitation by Frank Peretti before you buy this one.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Dreaming Awake - The Nephilim Real or Imaginary? Review: Lynn has captured the wantoness of us all in "Mac". Do we dare to consider that the turning of the Earth is more than just coincidence? Could there truelly be another reason for the unrest we feel when unseen things are felt? Mac didn't have all the answers, and the questions catapulted him into a state of frightful thirst that alcohol could not quench. Can we believe what the author is really trying to say? Do we dare to ignore it? This book is truely riviting and takes the mind on a wild journey that only One has yet payed the price. Can you say you would call on Him for your "rescue"? The Way, the Truth and the Life... Jesus is the only answer for now and forever. Believe the Book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A page-turner that keeps you reading on the rental car bus Review: I started this book on an airplane and when I landed 4 hours later, I couldn't stop reading. I actually read on the rental car bus! Marzulli does a great job of weaving religion, science fiction and wonderful writing style to keep the reader wanting. Many passages reminded me of Michner - especially the level of detail in describing surroundings. Character development was great and you want Mac to learn it all. A great surprise at the end. I hope there's a Nephilim II.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Too much to swallow.... Review: I must preface this by stating it was an enjoyable book to read - it was all here - good characters - interesting plot - a Christian page turner. It was pure fiction and could never ever happen in real life - however I got the impression the author has bought into this sort of thing hook line and sinker. The UFO community still has not provided a single shred of evidence for me to start developing the kind of argument the author has. I'm not entirely sure that Genesis 6 and the book of Enoch were used in context here either. I also think that the author may have crossed the line, because he seems to put just as much authority in the book of Enoch as he does in the Bible - not good. If a sequal comes out - I'll still buy it but will read it only for enjoyment and nothing more.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Written to challenge your view Review: In reading this book, not only does it take you on a journey of a man (Mac's) personal inner battle,it also takes you on a journey for the reader to make a decision on how they feel about this hot topic Aliens vs God, and what really is the truth about aliens. L.A. Marzulli does a great job in weaving you through this thought provoking subject.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Review: This book molds the stuff of UFO conspiracy theorists into an imaginative tale of fallen angels disguised as alien beings. As the story begins the main character, Mac, is in the middle of a long and difficult personal journey. As the plot unfolds, Mac reluctantly assumes the mantle of hero in his search for the truth about the evidence uncovered by two Israeli archaeologists suggesting Nephilim, or a race of giants, did exist in ancient times. If you rooted for the underdog when David fought Goliath, then you'll follow every step of Mac's journey with great interest!
