Rating: Summary: the greatest of all... Review: This is the first book I read in the series. It somehow hooked me. What I love most is the way things were describe in details eg. the herbs Ayla prepared, the cookings, etc. Besides this, it also describe on the prehistoric life not to mention the animals life cycle. It is a great book.
Rating: Summary: GREAT - AS USUAL!!!!! Review: I, ALONG WITH COUNTLESS OTHER READERS HAVE READ THIS SERIES OF BOOKS OVER AND OVER AND OVER - JEAN, WHEN OH WHEN WILL YOU PUT OUT THE NEXT BOOK(S)?? SOON, I HOPE! THIS SERIES IS CAPTIVATING AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE ACTUALLY THERE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Rating: Summary: Deeply moving account of prehistoric lovers! Review: I truely love the Earth Children series, and have re -read the books several times. The adventures of Ayla and Jondalar have been inspiring to say the least. Jean - if you read this - just know that we all are so anxious to have book 5 out because the first books are so compelling to read. We get it all - romance, history, adventure, and mystery!
Rating: Summary: Where is #5????????? Review: I am currently starting my junior year in high school. I read this series in 6th grade. My parents thought I was too young for these novels, but I proved them wrong. It took me the entire year, but to this day I still call these novels my favoites. I am anxiously awaiting the next book. If you enjoy novels about primitive man, or want to read a few good romance novels, the Earth's Children's series is for you. Fabulous!!!
Rating: Summary: one of the best books I have ever read!!!! Review: I have read this entire series so far and I cannot wait until she comes out with the next book in the series. I feel like I have been waiting for this book to come out forever. If anyone knows when the next book is going to be released, please let me know!!!! Enjoy them all!!!
Rating: Summary: one of the best, eagerly awaiting the next book in series Review: #4 in series, Plains of Passage was not quite as captivating as the first three, but still great. Yeah, there's a little too much rehash and description in this one, but once you get hooked on this series it doesn't matter.I recommend reading the first three before starting this one, but non-bookworms too intimidated to try can pick up the story in this one. I saw the movie(what a joke!) when I was 12(now26!)and started the series then. It's still the top of my list of favorites, and I've been wearing them out reading them about twice every year waiting for the next one! The exceptional descriptions make you wish you were there and the plot is spellbinding, even with the rehash and excessive description in #4.Keep up the great work, Jean, but please hurry! Where oh where is #5??!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great! when reading, you have the vision that you are there Review: The first book was given to me as a gift. After reading the Clan of the Cave Bear, I could not wait for the next book. When I read the last book Plains of Passage for the first time, I was very disappointed. However, I re-read the entire series again and not excited, read the Plains again and was very impressed with the book. Jean's style of writing leaves you with the impression that you are seeing and feeling what the characters see and feel. I am awaiting the next installment. Everytime I am in a bookstore, I ask when the next book will be coming out. Pass the message to Jean that her fans are VERY anxious to read the next book. It's been a long time, TOO LONG.
Rating: Summary: Next book please! Review: This is the fourth book in what I feel to be the best series of books ever. I never get tired off reading the Earth's Children series, the story stays with you for always. All four books were brilliant BUT I am constantly scanning the book shops for the fifth and final book. PLEASE Jean publish your final book as I am dying to continue Ayla's story.
Rating: Summary: An Extradordinary Book that Leaves you Waiting for ??? What? Review: Where is the next book Jean? The Earth's Children series is so captivating I dream about what will happen in the next books. The descriptions of Ayla's surroundings are extraordinary. Jean's interpretation of life 25,000 to 35,000 is superb. The last two books may be repetitious in parts, but it gives a good basis of the previous two novels for those who pick up #3 or #4 books first. I very much enjoyed the first 4 novels and am waiting anxiously for the next 2 books in the series.
Rating: Summary: an unfinished series is not worth the time invested Review: jean auel is never going to finish this series. but it really dosent matter anyway, because she will just repeat excerpts from all the other books over and over again, just like she did in the last 2 books. she has run out of story , before the story was told. i've read all 4 books in the series, but the plains of passage was so repetitious, i could barely keep reading. i've been looking for the last book to be written for years, and it is quite evident, it will not be written. hey, jean! thanks for nothing.
