Rating: Summary: Loved the book, hated the ending. Where's #5? Review: As I was getting closer and closer to the end, I was pleading with ...?(Doni? Mut? The Spirit of the Cave Lion?)NOT to let the book end the way it did! Never the less, I loved it, even though Jean Auel did get into the descriptions of the animals, the plants, and this that and the other thing too much. By the way, why can't Ayla let any man know about her special contraceptive tea? Why do they drink so much tea, anyway? My closing comment is that if I can't read #5 soon, I am going to go stark, raving mad and murder someone. And I don't particularly want to go to an insane asylum, so ... HURRY UP ALREADY!!!
Rating: Summary: It left me breathless. Review: I am only 16 but I totally loved this book, along with the other three. My mom wanted me to read more so she bought me The Clan Of The Cave Bear to make me read. Once I read the first page, I didn't even need my mom to tell me to read, I totally wanted to. It caught me and now whenever I read I always read these books. I love them so much that I would recomend them to all of my friends. My friends think I am nuts spending so much time reading, but with these books, I couldn't give a rat's butt what they think because I simply adore the series. Ever since I finished reading The Plains Of Passage, I have been eagerly awaiting the next one. It has taken her about 8 years to write the next book, it's a good thing I only started reading her books this year because I would NOT be able to wait 8 years for the next in the series. I am sorry for the people who have had to. Ayla's struggles, adventures and her strength to overcome makes her my personal hero. COME OUT WITH THE NEXT BOOK ALREADY!! I CAN'T WAIT MUCH LONGER!!
Rating: Summary: So sickening it doesn't desrve a star! Review: This book was BORING, it was REPETITVE, and SOO TRASHY! I cannot say how much I hated it. Clan of the Cave Bear was inventive and interesting (worth buying, actually), I really honestly liked it, but it just went downhill from there. The characters are shallow, the setting is boring, and the story is plain, the book should be named The PLAIN Passage. It seems like all Jean loves to write about is sex, sex, sex. I give it "0" stars!
Rating: Summary: I just loved this book and the former three. Review: An interesting book in all respects. I now have acquired knowledge about toolmaking, medicin and the wild life in Europe during the ice age. I am now awaiting eagerly for the continuing of the story in book 5 and 6 which was promised by the author. Please do not disappoint your fan world-wide.
Rating: Summary: A well reseached and excellent book Review: This is a timeless classic. The Plains of Passage continues Ayla and Jondalar's journey to his home. It kept me breathless and I couldn't stop reading! I loved all four books and I am eagerly waiting for #5!!(Which I still don't know the title of.)
Rating: Summary: This book makes you feel a life of adventure coming to life Review: I read the first book (clan of the cavebear) in 87. And did not read the other books before 94. But when it was done, I was ready to pick up the next book and found out that there was no more of them. In four years now I have been hoping to see the reeles of book five of earth`s children sometime soon? I only say this because these books where writen in a way that made you feel the adventure and the people in it. I hope that Jean M. Auel soon can say, stop begging I have already releest them. I wish it could happend someday, because the last book did leave some questions that you normaly find in short stories. A novel should end a story, not give one bye free imagination, well maybe, but not in a good story sutch as this. I`ll say as many before me, please finis as you had intended, a story in 6 books. But, thank you for the entertainment, it`s been without a dout the best story i have read so far.!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Series Review: I love this book,it's characters and it's use of histry. It's true human conflict and i wish number 5 will come out soon
Rating: Summary: I loved this one and the first three Review: I truly loved the whole series and have been waiting years for the next one. Please don't let all of your avid fans down, give us number 5!
Rating: Summary: Awesome writing! I was there, man! Review: I loved this one as much as the first 4. The big question is "Where is #5?" I've been waiting for this one longer than I waited for#4 in Stephen King's Dark Tower series and that seemed like forever. Come on, Jean, have a heart!
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK! SO REALISTIC - YOU WON'T PUT IT DOWN! Review: I HAVE READ ALL THE BOOKS IN THE EARTH CHILDREN'S SERIES. I ALSO DID A RESEARCH REPORT ON THEM IN COLLEGE. JEAN AUEL TOOK A LOT OF TIME TO RESEARCH THAT ERA. THERE WERE MANY THINGS BASED ON FACTS VERIFIED BY ARCHAEOLOGISTS AND OTHER HISTORIANS. THE TOOL MAKING, CLOTHING, HOUSING, WEAPONS, ETC... I HAVE BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THE NEXT BOOK, THERE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE 6 BOOKS IN THE SERIES. JEAN HAS A WONDERFUL IMAGINATION FOR THE FEELINGS AND ACTIONS OF THE CHARACTERS.
