Rating: Summary: Absolutly Wonderful Review: I was first given a copy of Clan of the Cave Bear as a gift. After reading that first book I had to read the next and the next. I waited for Plains of Passage and purchased it the moment it was on the shelf and am patiently waiting for the next. I would just like to thank Jean M Auel for creating such a wonderful series and will continue to wait for the next book to be written. The enjoyment I have in re-reading the series over and over again, I am sure it will be worth the wait.
Rating: Summary: Captivating, spellbinding cliffhanger, and intriguing Review: I have read all four of Jean Auel's Earth series books and like everyone else am waiting to read the fifth. Here storytelling is very descriptive and informative. You can lose yourself in the story, as if you were right there with Ayla throughout all her adventures. I do hope she is continuing to write the sequel and is in good health. Her new books always seem to come out around the holidays, and with each passing holiday without the new book, hope seems to fade. If able please, convey my best wishes to Ms.Auel and prayers that she is able to finish book #5. She has done some great research and brings the story to life with vivid descriptions. I had seen the movie with Darrel Hannah and it did not do justice to the book. Really wish that all the books would be made into a tv miniseries ie: "Shogun" or a full length movie for that matter. Here's to your new book, and all the rest that may follow.
Rating: Summary: this series has the wow factor! Review: i have read and re-read the earth's children many, many times (7?!?) although i eagerly await the book 5, there are so many ways it can go that i don't know what to expect. hurry up!
Rating: Summary: Awesome - Where's #5!!! Review: The Earth's Children series has been a part of my life since Clan of the Cave Bear first came out. I have read and re-read (many times) the whole series thinking that by the time I finished the 4th one (again!) that #5 would be one the shelves and ready for me to read. Where are you Jean?
Rating: Summary: Fantasy adventure at its finest! Review: Ms. Auel's research and attention to detail bring the story of Ayla vividly alive. I have enjoyed all four installments, and have read..., and read..., and read..., and read ..., The Plains of Passage the last few years. Will Ayla and Whinney be "expecting" forever? Will we never know the meaning of the image at the top of the cave entrance in her dream? So many questions to be answered. PLEASE, Ms. Auel, barring any dire impediments, your readers beg you for the fifth installment. We Ayla and Jondalar junkies need another fix!
Rating: Summary: This book was the greatest! Review: I loved this book soooo much! My favorite one was Valley Of Horses, but this was my second favorite. A friend of mine read them before I did and she said they were great, she had just finished them (She read them in fourth grade! Wow! ) And I just finished in October. I also got extra credit from my teachers for reading a long book :) It wasn't hard, but it was long. I started all my friends reading it, and we have little disscusions at the lunch table. I think I'm a crazed fan. When's she comiing out with her next book?
Rating: Summary: Where's Jean Auel now? Review: First of all, I have to say that I loved this series! When I read the fourth book in 1992 (at the tender age of 13; I'd already read the other two) I waited eagerly for the next book to come out. It never did. The back of the paperback I now have says she was writing her fifth book in the series; so where is it? :) I don't think this should be the last story in the series; I can see so many angles where this could go!! Like, what happens between her sons, with that dream she had? I'd love to know how these questions go; like how does Ayla react when she meets Jondalar's former love? Little things like that I want to see finished. I hope she hasn't decided to quit writing, or worse yet passed on!!! *~* Sarah
Rating: Summary: One of the best series I've ever read! Review: I beleive this particular book has left me hanging more than the other three! Clan of the cave bear was absolutly heart wrenching. The valley of horses proved the strength of Ayla and her obvious talent with Baby and Whinney, and as a medicine woman with Jondalar. Mammoth Hunters and Plains of passage showed the strength of her love for Jondalar. I can't wait to see her baby. Hurry with that next book!!!
Rating: Summary: Praise for the Plains of Passage Review: I have enjoied all four of the Earth's Children Series, and while The Plains of Passage at times laged a bit, the characters I have come to love are at it again! Auel has done an excelent job of describing the scenes and creating intrigue...
Rating: Summary: Beautiful and captivating, intelligent and powerful Review: I love this series with a passion! I have never read anything that has so captivated my imagination! During the time I was devouring the four books, I didn't let myself get more than six hours of sleep a day! Although she does tend to ramble in her descriptions, I don't take it against her because they are written so well. And just think of the research that went into it! It's a monument to modern paleontology! I'm surprised at the few negative reviews: these people clearly didn't GET it. This series has heart, mind and soul, and where is the next one? I can't wait to see Jondalar in that white leather and ermine tunic Ayla made for him!
