Rating: Summary: AWSOME! Review: Way better then the first Star Wars radio drama! The lightsaber fight is done really well. My only complaints about this radio drama are that several of the characters come across as blow-dried, even silly. Here's an example: (Han and the other character's walking in cloud city) Lando: "I just made a deal that will keep the Empire out of here forever." (Door opens) Han: "It's Vader!" (shoots at him) Han: (sputters) "What!" (sputters) "nobody stops blaster shots with their hand!" (sputters). I'm sorry, Han, but he just did. And I also think there where things like that in the first radio drama. Leia: My poor, poor, Alderran (OH MY GOSH!). Also, John Lithgow is a (...) Yoda! Putting aside minor casting defects, AN AWSOME RADIO DRAMA!
Rating: Summary: Star Wars Review: Well, I bought this CD collection after hearing how good it was from some other SW fans. I must admit that it didn't really live up to my expectations. The best thing about the Radio Dramas is A New Hope. It starts out with the events leading up to Leia's ship being chased by a Star Destroyer in the first place. We get a sense of where Artoo and Threepio came into it and learn a little bit more about Viceroy Bail Organa and Obi-Wan Kenobi's friendship. This was a standout point for me. We also have dialogue that was filmed but was cut from the original print after early showings. This is between Luke and his friends at the Toshi station. A New Hope is also the longest in the series. It seems that the more action the movie had, the less time there was on the Radio series. I think Empire Strikes Back suffered the worse from this. Also some of the characterisations where a little bland at times (especially Leia and Han), but that could be because we are all so use to Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. The collection is interesting and great to have if you have to travel to work.
Rating: Summary: Bad, bad, really bad. Review: Words need not even be wasted on this product. Besides each character having a different voice than that in the movie, the audio effects are terrible, as well as the actors and script. The one good thing about this product is its availability is limited. Save your time, save your money. Don't let Lucas put his hand in your pocket.
