Rating: Summary: the first of 9 great books Review: Read this book and you will undoubtably be hooked into its mastery and the mastery of the whole series. dont listen to those who blather on about it being to long or confusing, those are the people still reading at an eighth grade lvl. These books are great and though they are not exactly Tolkien material they come pretty damn close. These books are great for taking on trips or just reading at home because they are so long that they will keep you occupied when nothing else will. In this book Jordan creates a whole new system of magic and enemys and powers that is truly amazing and he still was able to include a great plot with many twists and turns that will lead to unexpected events. This is definitley a book/series that a real reader will want to read.
Rating: Summary: The Eye Of The World Review: I read the eye of the world , The first book of The Wheel Of Time Series written by Robert Jordan. I read it very slowly and i got a lot out of it. i enjoyed it very much. Everything was very detailed in this book and was detailed to great depths. The main plot of this book was that the Dark one is Chasing three Boys from the Two Rivers. The Dark One is the like the Devil and he is the ruler of all evil. The three boys are Mat Perrin And Rand. They are from the Two Rivers. Which is a Small Faming village. The Boys are aided in running from the Dark One by an Aes Sedai and a Warder. The Warder and The Aes Sedai are inseparable with a bond nothing can break. Maraine And the Warder Lan are very strong and Moraine is like a good witch that has powers. And a gleeman named Thom Merrlin. A gleeman is a one man Circus With Tricks of many kinds. They have a great many adventures togther And most of them in fear of the Dark One. But Somewere fun for the time being. You Will find out the ending when you read it and it is a very good book. it is the only book i have read this whole year and will read this whole year.
Rating: Summary: One of the best! Review: This is one of the best books Ive read in a long time. It is so good I just couldn't put it down I will contnue to read the whole 9 book serise. I'm hooked!!! One of the many reasons I like this book is because it goes through only about 4-5 weeks of time in 800 pages and is therefore very rich in detail were most books go through a whole year or more in way less pages
Rating: Summary: Some Addictions are healthy, I assure you. Review: Through years and years of thourough research (I am joking) I have come to discover that there are two kinds of WoT fans; 1. The ones who think The first was the best and each following book steadily worsens 2. The ones who think the first was amazing, but that each book afterwords gets better and better. I am the latter. If you read this book, and start the second, and find you fit in the former, stop instantly, because there will be no point in you reading further. I read several of the reviews that said Robert Jordan was trying too hard to write a fantasy like Tolkeins. While there are similarities, I disagree. It's a wonderful experience to read a fantasy that doesn't have hundreds of strange and exotic creatures popping up everywhere. There are maybe 5 species in this series that would not be found on "Earth." This gives the readers an opportunity to more fully understand the characters. The books are long because Jordon felt it was necessary for everyone to become aquainted with the characters, no matter how insignificant they may turn out to be. I'm reading this a second time, and it's unbelievable how much I missed in my first reading, everything makes sense! if you look at the first book, and compare it to the ninth, you see that he has made no slipups, and everything matches up, unlike some uh.. more popular books *cough* *HARRY POTTER* *cough* And for those who want to know when it will end, The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills, and only the Pattern may determine the outcomes.
Rating: Summary: A good piece of fantasy literature Review: Let me just start by saying that this is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I couldnt put it down as Jordan's world just pulls you in. The only downfall to this book, and the series for that matter is that Jordan tends to drag things out to longer than what they should be. I defenitely think some of his books could be a lot shorter. While its no Lord of the Rings, the Wheel of Time series is a good investment. I recommend it for any fantasy fan.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK SOME PROBLEMS Review: This is an excellent book and the ones following aren't bad. But Jordan takes a long time between books and most fans start to lose interest. Wait till the series is done then by the whole thing and read it. Some of the books do fall short and seem to just be part of the journey almost as if he wasn't sure where he was going. Some of the main characters are barely mentioned in some books and are the sole focus in others. Plus there are a lot of characters to keep track of many don't really participate but as long as you don't try to remember every innkeeper barmaid and minor villain you should not have much trouble. When the new book comes out I will be first in line then when I get home I'll call in sic brew some coffee and read for a few days.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book. A great start to a fantastic story. Review: Wheel of Time was the first "epic fantasy" story that I ever started. Eye of the World is the first book in the series and it is a fantastic start. I love everything about it: the characters and their interactions, the plot, and the fascinating world that Jordan has created. But be warned, this story is the very definition of "epic", and you need to be prepared for a long ride if you start this story. Others have criticised the series for dragging on too long and wish that Jordan would finish it up. I've had no problems with Jordan's pacing and would be overjoyed if he decides to give us another 9 (or more!) books to complete this wonderful, epic tale.
Rating: Summary: Great Suspensful Epic Review: This book is the first great fantasy epic in the Wheel of Time series. It has all the great quilities of a great book like suspense, forshadowing, great characters, and a amazing plot to put it all together. If you haven't looked into this book you should. It has magic users the aes sadia and people who think they are the rightous one that do things right the whitecloakes and then of course a great evil that threatens the world. And to some the aes sedia are evil considered, but I'll let you decide this when you read it. Since I'm bad at explaining things Ill leave the rest to you by reading it if you don't oh well its you miss.
Rating: Summary: Excelent book - Pity about the Series Review: This book was an absolutly wonderful read, but it is part of a series that was originaly going to be 6 books (I think No 8 has been released recently). As such it is a waste of time to read, at least untill Robert Jordan actualy finishes this series. The story line from about the 4-5 book was changing. I will be interested, if he ever finished the series, to see where it ends up.
Rating: Summary: You'll be hooked Review: I received the first books in The Eye of the World series from my brother as gifts, and I was instantly addicted to Jordan's world. I'm now on Book 8 and reading it through like a banshee. Jordan has defined the new generation in fantasy.
