Review: After the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, few fantasy novels can compare to it, but the Eye of the World possibly surpases it. Pick up a copy and you'll soon find the rich universe of characters too appealing to go back to reality.

Summary: Eye of the World begins a good series. Worth the time.
Review: Simply put, it's the beginning of a tale of the beginnings of the battle between good and evil. He brings characters of both genders to the fore, without settling for stereotypes or casting unbelievable roles. A paganism lurks beneath the surface with a refreshing clearness. However, Jordan fails when he tries to paint broad lines of strategy rather than focusing on where he succeeds: Jordan brings his characters to life. The biggest downside for an adult reader is the lack of realistically handling sex and sexual situations. While this might be a comfort to parents of teens, it's a disappointment when the very real relationships developed lack the adult side of the relationship. After reading Eye of the World, there are many weeks of enjoyment ahead in this as yet unfinished tale. All the books move the characters forward. Review: But it is A beginning.
From the first moment you read the first few lines of the Prologue to this incredible journey, you realize you've never experienced a world as alive as the one Jordan creates.
It is a world which has its own history, its own myths and legends. It is a world where its inhabitants are so full of life, that you are immediately immersed into Jordan's magnificent Weaving of his One Power: his creativity.
All characters, good and evil, reatain their distinct personalities throughout the book, and even more incredibly, throughout the entire series. Yet each of them go through their own changes, and this makes them seem even more alive.
The struggle between Good and Evil, Light and Darkness, and the struggle in each character's mind and soul, has been the most incredible read in my whole lifetime.
You can't help but laugh at each character's jokes, flinch at their pain, and find a favorite. They're just too believable for a book. The villans are not all-powerful; they have their weakness, and strengths, as every one of us has.
If you wish truly to enter a world FULLY, in mind and soul, then this is the book for you. It will pull you in, and never let go, and just like the World of Dreams in the Wheel of Time, since you are entering fully in it, you won't return the same, and the only cure for the pain of having finished a book, will be to read the next one in the series.
It has been the only series I've read entirely over from the first book before reading each new one released.

Let the One Power enter you, embrace it. Let Jordan's words be the arms of that embrace. May the Light shine on you.

Review: I have never been so amazed at the greatness of a book in my life. It is a story about the struggle between good and evil, darkness and light, men and women! what great insight Robert Jordan has on how the genders look at each other. Not only is this story exciting and action packed, but it has many subtile subpoints that you can relate to your own life. I loved reading this book, It is a great book to read if you love symbolism, fantasy, action, love, hate, or mystery; or all of the prior. I would not be surprised to see it raised to the status of a classic after it's completion

Review: Though a bit slow at first, Robert Jordan has created a true masterpiece. Dozens of vivid characters fit seamlessly into a realistic, well thought-out world. Actually, the first book of the "Wheel of Time" series is a bit flawed. The ending seems rushed, and at places Jordan's prose is over-wrought, but in the end this is a great book to start a monumental series. Things just keep getting better and better, as each book passes.

Review: Robert Jordan has created a world and characters that draws upon the raw bones of many old myths and legends, yet presents them in a way that you don't even recognize them as not being original. The characters are well written and you feel you know them personally by the time you finish the book. The world and the races are not your typical elves and dwarves, but new races that will enchant you in a new way. I strongly recommend this book and the others in the series to anyone.

Review: I've made my way through Eddings, Simmons, and Feist, and, above all, the WOT series has been the most captivating sci-fi fantasy series since Tolkien. Jordan's acute attention to detail doesn't lose the reader, but still gives an intelligent portrayal of the story. The WOT series is a good read for all ages who love rich and ideal stories. Jordan takes the ordinary "maiden in distress" type story and embellishes to make it a unique work of art. I have thoroughly enjoyed what has been written in this series. I look forward to more!!!!! Fantastic reading adventure!!!!!!
