Rating: Summary: one of the best books I ever read Review: This serie is the best I ever read about fantasy. All the characters are very realistic and build up with a lot of care in giving details. The aspect were he started with and the evolution through the books are very amazing. Everyone who likes fantasy, must read those books.
Rating: Summary: Way to go Robert!!!!!!!!! Review: While the story starts slow, with a lot of "filler", it is deffinately needed for the rest of the series. I have just finished reading it for the sixth or seventh time-I have lost track-and each time, the excellent charactorization pulls me in. I must admit that I started it, got through 300 pages, found it was going nowhere, and put it down. Then a friend saw it on my bookshelf, asked if I had read it. When he found out I hadn't, he freaked. A week later, I picked it up again. I made it all the way through and thought. "Why, in the name of the Light did I put this down!" It was simply astonishing! The charactors are well rounded. That's what the first 30 pages are for. Rand, Matt, Perrin, Egwene, Moirane, Lan...they're all human. That is something I think has been lacking in other fantasies. David Eddings, Terry Brooks-they are fluff. Even Tolkien can't compare. Excellent work Robert. Bravo!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: This book is very intruiging. I had trouble puting it down. The story twists and turns and you never know where you're gonna end up. I really suggest reading it.
Rating: Summary: The BEST book I've ever read! Review: I haven't read any book that can match this book by far... I REALLY LIKE IT!!!
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I must admit that I had never heard of Robert Jordan before I saw this book on the shelf. This was just after I had read all of Raymond E. Fiest's books and I was looking for something new to me. I never thought that it would be as good as it turned out to be. The way Magic works, the different beasts. Instead of just using orcs or trolls we have Trollocks. The mood he sets at the start is very real forr me as I ca think of a few situations that I have seen that are similar. (on Guard duty at 3 a.m. in wooded countryside with hostiles all around) All I can say to you if you have never read this book is to try it. It may seem to start slow but it is worth it in the end.
Rating: Summary: Excellent foundation for the following books Review: I began with TGH (#2) and immediately became addicted. Afterwards I read EOW and the remaining books in sequence. A must read for any sci-fi fan enjoying great stories of this type. Go ahead, try it - you won't be sorry!!!
Rating: Summary: OH HELL YEAH Review: This book goes down in literary history with the greats. Rand Al'Thor is comperable to Elric, Jon-Tom Meriweather, and Sparhawk. This is bound to be the series to set the standard for the 21 st century.*****
Rating: Summary: Love Jordan's writing, dislike his females! Review: Yes, I am female, I am strong minded and hold my own. I've read more books than I can count over the past 30 years. And I hate the females in this series! I've read the first three books three times, and I can't make myself go any further. I *love* the way Jordan writes. I love to read, and his style is very engaging. But listening to females with the minds of 6-year-olds pouting and stomping about drives me completely insane. I've actually moaned out loud at the drivel that comes out of their mouths. Why can't he write something with NORMAL PEOPLE in it???
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT Review: Sure it starts out a little slow but after that I read till midnight to finish it (started at 6:00) . A must read but be loyal through the first two chapters
Rating: Summary: This Book is good Review: I like this book. Robert Jorden is very talented.
