Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: this book is an execellent sequal to THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR, just another breath-taking book. Its just an amasing book
Rating: Summary: A very good book, vividly re-telling of the old ice-age. Review: I really enjoyed this book, and I think that many people can relate to the "abomination" part of it. Obvioulsy those people were ill-treated, yet they were a great deal smarter than the rest. I enjoy Jean Auel's books, and I have read them all. I think that it is a very good book, and I would recomend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: One of the best ever written Review: I started with this book in the series. When I found out that this was a series, I went out and bought the rest. The depth that the author went to was the best I have ever seen in some time. The research that went on must of taken some time. And then to weave a readable story around such things really captivates the reader. I sent these books to relatives who enjoy reading and got the same response.
Rating: Summary: The best book of the four "Earth Children"series printed Review: It has give me a thinking insight and a possible perception as to what every day life could have been like in those far off days. I just wish M/s Auel would publish the three remaining books to the seven book series
Rating: Summary: grade school porn Review: I read this book way back in grade school. In typical prepubescent male fashion, I skipped all but the sex scenes. It was the closest thing to a porn shop rag I could get my little 12 year old hands on! Never got around to reading the rest of the book though.
Rating: Summary: What a let-down! Review: Clan of the Cave Bear was a great book. I rushed right out to get Valley of the Horses and continue the adventure. What trash! It was boring and read like a cheap romance novel.
Rating: Summary: I have read all her books in the series . Review: All her books are great and I have been waiting for her next one to come out. Please can't wait much longer.
Rating: Summary: The equal sequel Review: Without the large cast of supporting characters in "Clan of the Cave Bear," this one gets more up close and personal with Ayla and her aloneness after being banished from the Clan. The contrasts between the way she obviously views herself and the way Jondalar views her are very interesting, showing that her life with the Clan afforded her little or no sense of self. Their confrontation over the fact that she has borne an "abomination" rings so true. To me Auel writes of certain things, even bad things like discrimination, and depicts them as flaws in our nature that did not just develop with complex societies. It's very rewarding to read about Ayla learning about herself and developing the talents that the Clan punished her for. And the sex scenes...can't say I've ever read anything that graphic. Talk about steamy. But in a lot of ways it highlights the naturalness and the basic-ness of these people.
Rating: Summary: Captivating and Suspenseful! Review: I thought that this book was so captivating that I could hardly put it down. Auel discribes the scenes so well that it feels as though you are actually there. She described Ayla and her travels so that you could actually see her collecting supplies and hunting. Although this book does have some dangerous scenes, I would reccomend this book to a wide range of ages. Whether you lke science fiction or suspense, you will love this book, I garentee it.
Rating: Summary: I really liked the book because it was so captivating. Review: This book is one of the best that I have ever read. Jean M. Aual really captivates the moments in the book. She describes Ayla and her adventures so well that it almost feels like I'm there with her. I would recomend this book to anyone who loves a somewhat slow-paced book but that is so enjoyable to read that you can't put it down.
