Rating: Summary: A 5* read! Review: Well written...really brings out feelings of compassion towards Tom Sanders, the target of a ruthless sexual harassment charge brought by a former lover and now boss.
Crichton writes with confidence about such nascent
technologies as 3 dimensinal representation of
computer data bases.
Convincing and very, very realistic!
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: It did not take long for me to become engrossed with this book. Throughout the entire book, I felt deep empathy for Sanders, for all that he was going through at home and at work. Especially at work. But from the first meeting with Meredith, I simply LOATHED her, and I'm a woman! She was a sneaky, conniving person from the get-go and in the end, she got what she deserved. Hurray for Sanders
Rating: Summary: This book kicked BUTT, really suspenseful Review: I thought this book was awesome. It kept you on the edge of your seat, wondering what would happen next. The book did sometime get a little thenical but it didn't matter that much if you didn't understand because the book didn't revole around it. The book did revoule around the main chartcher and how he was kinda lead into a trap and couldn't get out. Like I said the book was awesome and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense
Rating: Summary: the best!!! Review: The best book Crichton ever wrote. It is interesting and informative. When the book ended i started crying
Rating: Summary: A thrilling court battle to rival Grisham fiction Review: This novel is a wonderful piece of work. Crichton takes on reverse sexual harrassment and discrimination with ease. His extensive research makes the book enjoyable and an ultra-fast read. He leisurely walks through the complexities of our legal system and comes out shining with a novel challenging all traditional thought modalities. I would highly recommend this novel to any fan of law novels and shows. You will finish it quickly and then have the desire to absorb more of Chrichton's brilliance through his other novels. ENJOY!!
Rating: Summary: Superbly orchestrated, a must read! Review: This book will be hard to put down. Michael has done a fantastic job of accurately portraying sexual harassment. Extremely well detailed. Prepared to stay up all night
Rating: Summary: On par with "Jurassic Park", "Disclosure" is a GREAT book! Review: "Disclosure" is as good as "Jurassic Park", Michael Crichton's best novel. Unlike "Congo" and "The Lost World", the book is interesting and fast-paced from the VERY beginning and never lets up. I strongly reccomend this one
Rating: Summary: You don't need Boots to climb the Corporate Ladder! Review: This book was read in one sitting - As a male Flight Attendant in Sydney, Australia, I not only had a whole "layover" day in Perth to relax in my hotel room and read it, but it opened my eyes to my own working environment. In the Airline Cabin Crew Industry, men occupy about 20% of the employees. In an adverage Boeing 767-200 crew, there is 10 Flight Attendants - of those 10, I am usually the only male. I am married to a Cabin Manager working for the same company. (Rarely do we ever fly together!) I am surrounded by women everyday, and I join in to all the conversations about work, and about men. They sometimes ask me my feelings towards a particular type of man, or maybe how I would deal with this sort of personal situation. I am so in touch with my femanine side - my wife and have become so much closer since I started with this company! But, I have had instances where I have come close to complaining about some of the other female flight attendants actions towards me, physically, and verbal. I can see exactly how words and actions could be manipulated, and "the heat of the moment" could distort feelings of what is right and what is wrong.
Michael Crichton has brought to life the world of the "Big Company". Where you don't need Boots to climb the Corporate Ladder, heels work just fine! It's a must read for any one who works for a large company, and where equality has become an important role in the 90's. It's a reminder that ANYONE can be successfull, and at the end of the day, honesty proves worthy, whether your a man or a woman. And for the men out there who work in an environment where your Boss is a woman, and there is sexual harrassement, remember, you have every right they would if they were in your shoes. Too much pride are for those who are too afraid to speak up. Michael Crichton can put another feather in his cap for his absolute variety, and relentless investigations in his writing
Rating: Summary: My absolute favorite book of all time. Review: Nevermind Michael Douglas and Demi Moore, this book is so much more than the characters could ever portray on a movie screen. The high tech tools these characters have at their fingertips will mesmerize you. I was completely unable to close this book until I had read every word. If you are the least bit interested in the capabilities of a computer, you are going to love the way Michael Crichton uses a virtual reality system to stretch your imagination
Rating: Summary: Disclosure finds its way to the top of the best reading. Review: Non-fictional story which stirs ones imagination and emotions. Sexual harrassement is reverse faced as the tables have turned on the male from an upper management female. The two had once been involved some years ago. Now he is happily married with a family. He finds himself tempted but resists. The ego of this woman detest rejection and lack of control over the situation. She convives and manipulates the situation to make him the quilty party. It is intense with excitement. A must for you libray
