Rating: Summary: pure truth Review: One of my favourite books, and M. C.'s best. For me it is the very book on aggresion in professional life. Six stars!
Rating: Summary: great dialogue made this novel. Review: After the dialogue, it's hard to say what I like best about this novel. The movie (which I watched last night) seems to follow the storyline to a "T". Tom Sanders is E.W.M. (Every White Male), no doubt. However, I got lost in the sheer entertainment value of the book and somewhat disregarded Crichton's didactics, you know about sexual harassment and stuff. As well, I seemed to forget whether a scene occurred just in the novel and not in the movie, and vice versa. I mean, the script was followed that closely to the novel! I sometimes find it a little unnerving that Crighton seems to be writing a screenplay as well as a novel at the same time. I guess I basically read his novels for better explanations for scenes that I saw in his movies and, I think most importantly, for the sheer entertainment value of his novels.
Rating: Summary: A little weak. Review: I did enjoy the book and would recommend it, however, I know MC is capable of better plots. I had a bit of trouble buying into the sexual harassment plot. I did enjoy the legal posturing though; I believe it is that part of the novel that saves it from being a waste of ink.
Rating: Summary: The book is better than the movie Review: I read the book after watching the movie, and I think the book is much better and the plot is very good. but there is something I don't like about the book is that it's a bit too long at the beginning, and I think crichton could make it shorter. afterall it's a good book and I recommend everyone to read it.
Rating: Summary: The Best of the Best!!!! A most read! Review: Warning!! If you start reading you will not stop!! I thought this was one good book and it has a good plot. I dont think they would make a movie of it if it wasn't good. When I told friends I had finished they could'nt believe how fast I read it. I think the author did a very good job!!
Rating: Summary: A breathtaking book by M.C Review: I got a little more than the usual from Crichton in this book-a fast paced, extremely detailed book which deals with 2 plots-a man filing a sexual harrassment suit against his female boss in the middle of a big merger, and a company plan to bring this man down. Crichton handles them both like what he is-a master at the written word. Bravo!
Rating: Summary: Not very interesting Review: Not that bad, although I get tired and confused over the law and firms and all those stuff.
Rating: Summary: Raves for exposing sexual harassment as a power issue! Review: Crichton gives a page turner as he explores a sensitive issue. A sexual harassment charge is used as a power play to cover up company secrets. He literally keeps us on the edge of our seat waiting to see how it will play out. For those of us who have investigated these issue in the scope of our job, Crichton does an excellent job of focusing on the side issues that often play a role.
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ, CLASSIC CRICHTON Review: This was a wonderful book and brought out the best of Crichtons tallents. As i began reading it, i wasen't sucked right into it as most of Crichtons novels seem to do to me, but once i got to about say page 100, there was no stopping me. I liked how the book relayed the fact the sexual harrassment casses can go both ways and ARE NOT just the female vs. the male all the time. Crichton addressed these issues w/ his typical skill and precision. If you are a Crichton fan or love suspence novels this is a must read!!!!
Rating: Summary: Never Give Up Review: The first 100 pages of the novel were slow, and I was wondering if something was going to pick up the speed...But then it goes into a maze of trill. And you find yourself reading page after page, after page. Crichton is the best writer I have ever read
