Rating: Summary: HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! Review: Well folks, we got ourselves another Peter David laught riot.
This book is great. Althouht the main theme revolves around the wedding of two feuding space vagabond clans (whew!), the
works soon get gummed up when Q pays a visit. He wants to study love, and his guinee pig is ... Laxana Troi. The main plot is good, but everybody will love the ending, where
Laxana bets the s*** out of Q!
Rating: Summary: Lwaxanna Troi + Q, 2gether, 4ever? Review: What jumps out of this book are the things that you don't expect. There is so much oddball humor in this book that it makes "the Trouble With Tribbles" look like funeral service. For example, Q reveals that secret of the universe is the avocado. The hinge of this book is a quick fling that Lwaxana Troi has with Q. Of course, this pre-dates the flirting that Q had with Janeway, but, hey, that series haws been cancelled.Lwaxana Troi and Q together-why it reminds me of the Honeymooners! You see great character interaction, which is the best part of any story, since special effects are getting so boring since they are so easy to do. And people are the reason why we are here on earth, anyways. I think this book would be a great for a reunion episode, although I don't think it could be recycled for "Enterprise." Q would be no problem to introduce into the series, but you need Majel Barret to spar with him and push the godling around. The subplots are also gems, one of which is Wesley getting an alien love slave that he doesn't want. She is agreeable to everything, but he isn't. Funniest line in the book : Slave to Wesley "I'm sorry fro apologizing." Peter David makes Wesley Crush look good. And that is worth a Nobel Prize!
Rating: Summary: Peter David is the uncontested King of Star Trek Novels Review: You know, I read this book a few years ago and I just stopped laughing last week. Peter David brings together a highly unlikely couple in quite possibly the funniest and most dramatic non-David Trek book. Who would've though that Lawaxanna and Q would...well I'll let you read it and see :). Fans of Star Trek Novels already own all of Peter David's works, however if you're new to Star Trek novels, or you just want to read a nice Sci-Fi story you should definenly pick this one up. After you're done with this one, go get IMZADI!.
