Rating: Summary: A Match For Even Q's Annoyance Review: I have never laughed so hard while reading a Star Trek book in my entire life. Luxiana, please excuse my spelling, Troi who'se Betazed frankness and lack of restraint is evenly matched with the manifestation of Q as we know them. Within brief moments, we can see why Q are somewhat afraid of Terrans. One day, Q will have to put up with an advanced version of Luxiana! Forget about a civil war in the Continuum, all hell will break loose! As advanced as Q are, they are wise enough to know there's someone always wiser than they are, or will turn out to be. As Michael Strazinky did with Babylon 5, it would be interesting to see "humanity" one million years from now. What will humanity have evolved into? Just a brief taste of our potential would keep my appetite for Star Trek going for a lifetime. Peter David demonstrates that not all "Trekkies" and / or "Trekkers" have no sense of humor. In fact, they can be somewhat diabolical.
Rating: Summary: This Book Saved My Sanity! Review: I laughed so hard I cried at the end of this book. It was a master piece. Because of Q's typical arrogance, he learned that 'hell hath no fury as that of a woman scorned'. If you ever have to spend time waiting ( driver license, Dr., jury duty ) take this book along. It will save your sanity. It's too bad that they could not make an episode or movie out of this book. I have read it 3 times and will read it again and again and again. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: This is a very funny book. Review: I like this book because it's funny. I also like this book because it's read by two voices. It's a great abridgement with music and sound effects. I also like John DeLanci's portrayal as the villainous Q. This book has some parts in it that made me laugh. I highly recommend this to future Star Trek fans.
Rating: Summary: Great Quality ST Audio Book Review: I must say, this is one of the better audio books I've heard. John Delancy is a great narrator and he does very impressive imitations of Picard, Worf and other characters in the story (the voice acting is almost perfect actually). Majel Barette also does a very good Diana Troi, in addition to her own character. Thus, as far as the dialog and narration are concerned, as well as sound effects and background music, this audio book is a real winner. In this respect, I give the book 5 stars as most narrators can't pull the same sense of pace and excitement and can't provide convincing voice acting like John Delancy can.Peter David is known to be a more comical writer than most, so if that is the kind of story you were expecting, you'll be very pleased. You'll probably laugh out loud a few times at least, or something is wrong with you. However, I give the story only 3 stars, because it doesn't really develop any of the characters except for Q and Luaxanna Troi. The rest of the characters are just present, don't move the story along and aren't the center of attention. While Picard has some good dialog and Worf is definately his usual self, this is really a story about Q and Luaxanna. The story isn't incredibly enlightening or anything and Q is up to his usual things, so it's not really a masterpiece and it's not one of the best Star Trek novels I've read or listened to. It is, however, a delightful 120 minute diversion from life and that's probably what it was intended to be. Thus, overall, I give this audio book 4 stars.

Rating: Summary: One of the Funniest books I ever read Review: I read this whole book in one day. It is filled with jokes and the plot is superb. I won't give anything away but I've got to say this. Worf: Sell tickets.
Rating: Summary: Average Trek, Below Average Peter David Review: I'd been trying to find this book for years. Given my experiences reader Mr. David's Trek novels, I figured this would be another exciting, entertaining, and witty voyage of the Enterprise-D. But to my surprise, it was rather bland. Some things PAD gets right, like Lxwanna and Q. Other things, he seems to be doing wrong - he doesn't seem to be giving Capt. Picard appropriate dialogue at all, and there's far too much talk and far too little action. Given what he does with Q in the superior Q-Squared, this book is bland and pointless. At the same time, this is better than a good deal of the Trek books out there and a pretty good Q story. But Trekkies and PADians shouldn't expect very mcuh from this.
Rating: Summary: Fun again Review: I've allways enjoyed Peter David's work, and he did it again. Good naration and a fun plot as well.

Rating: Summary: Disappointing. Review: I've always been fond of Peter David's work; what enthralls me is the fact that he's one of the few writers of Star Trek books who can capture the feel of some of the original series episodes, like "Trouble With Tribbles", "A Piece of the Action", and "Shore Leave", which manage a tongue-in-cheek humor without sacrificing the drama of an actual plot. This book didn't seem to me to find that balance as well as others of his that I've read; the humor seemed more heavy-handed, the plot sillier and less worthwhile. It finished better than it started, but on balance I didn't feel like I was reading a real Star Trek story with a bit of humor to it; I felt as though I was reading a comedy with the gloss of a Star Trek story superimposed on it. Still not a bad book; just not nearly as good as I expect from Peter David.
