Rating: Summary: A fantastic book! I picked it up and couldn't put it down! Review: If Amazon had a six star rating I would give it for this book.I read all the bestsellers, but this one stands alone in terms of pure enjoyment and fun. If one is up for an exotic South American spy novel with more twists and turns than a mile of rope, then this is the book.
Rating: Summary: Not the best I have read. Review: If you like spies and espionage, this would be a book for you. Ai! Pedrito! starts out a little slow and has a loose plot but, in the whole time there is something happening. This book provides a good mental image of what is happening almost like a movie. This book was a joy to read along with a funny twist. What do you think would happen if a South American revolutionary terrorist leader would switch places with an elegant, proper, and an identical twin of him that was a high ranked Naval Intelligance Officer? To find out you need to read this book. It will keep you guessing the whole way through.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: Looking for a book that will be a real thrill ride for the reader? I found the tale was fast moving and always full of excitement around each and every corner. It's a very funny, adventure, spy story of what happens when a Lt. in US Naval Intelligence and a South American revolutionary leader (who look identical) get switched. The parody on the CIA underworld was hilarious and so where some of the situations Smith and Pedrito found themselves in. This book leaves the reader with the thought 'What if a case of mistaken identity really happened to me?' and 'Do I have a double on this planet?' The plot is what keeps you reading, making it a great 'What If' novel.
Rating: Summary: Martin Short as Indiana Jones Review: Ok, I admit I'm a Kevin Anderson fan. I even had Amazon.com search high and low for his "Assemblers of Infinity" because he was between new book releases (and they found it). But my problem with this latest work is I went looking for Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and instead found Martin Short (or Leslie Neilson). This is a comedy, not one of Anderson's typical action-adventure tales. The main character repeatedly stumbles between cases of mistaken identity that, somehow work out in the end. If you read the book with this in mind it will be entertaining. If, however, you're looking for a Kevin Anderson book, look for "Assemblers of Infinity." -- David Hess
Rating: Summary: A roller coaster ride into espionage! Review: Prepare to be surprised! I was when I looked at the clock at 4AM in the morning when I finished reading this book! There are enough surprises and twists along the road to make one want to drive a tank! Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Ai Pedrito a classic in the making. Review: Sure to be a best seller, "Ai! pedtito" will appeal to everyone from you teacher to your great aunt betty. I personelly think this was the most creative thriller ever concived by man. So if you are tired of sitting down and being bored, then this is the perfect book for you to read. If you ask me, this is the perfect book for anyone from teenagers to senior citizens.
Rating: Summary: A very fast and exciting read! Review: The combination of Hubbard and Anderson in this rolling adventure is a real thrill ride for the reader. I found the tale was fast moving and always spiced with excitement around each and every corner. The satire on the CIA underworld was a roar! I often found myself laughing out loud during some of the hilarious situations Smith and Pedrito found themselves in! I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure tale with its original plot that actually was sparked by an actual experience in Hubbard's life during his worldly travels! It leaves a reader with the compelling thought 'What if a case of mistaken identity really happened to me?' and 'Do I have a double on this planet?' The intrigue of this plot is what keeps you reading and afterward tags this book in your memory as a great 'What If' novel. I loved the combination of these two authors, and so will you . Hubbard and Anderson are two of my favorites of Science Fiction and Adventure. I really recommend you get a copy, strap yourself in to enjoy the ride and watch out for those chickens!
Rating: Summary: Ai Ronito! When your intelligence goes wrong! Review: This book is on the level of a pre-teenie comic book without the cartoons. It is so stupid, that one wonders why Ron Hubbard needed a co-author: to make the book, or to take the blame? If they just labelled it as pre-teenie material per se, like the Hardy Boys, maybe it wouldn't get such a terrible review from me. But this example of vanity publishing by the super rich Hubbard, using his own publishing house, offers it dead pan to all, in competition with writers like Tom Wolfe and Tom Clancy. Forget it. At local bookstores it's discounted 50% and still they can't give it away. WASPs never are exact doubles for Roman Catholic Cubans, by the way. Lame.
Rating: Summary: A rip roaring, can-put-down read. Review: This is a 10. It was so funny I found myself lauhging out loud. It had so many action scenes, my knuckles started turning white. I you love spys, humour and plenty of plot twist and turns, this is a must.
Rating: Summary: A case of mistaken identity taken to a new level! Review: This is a fantastic book. L Ron Hubbard outdid himself again with the idea for the story. One hilarious adventure after another that keeps you turning the pages. The hero is likable and the heroine is admirable in the extreme and the plot! Wow! A definate must read in my opinion.
