Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK: Very vivid adaptation of the movie!!! Review: The novelization of the X-Files movie is excellent. The book was very well organized. In addition, the cutting-room-floor scenes allow for a more even flow of the storyline. As a die-hard X-phile, I was asking myself during the movie - "why is Mulder calling Scully from a pay phone?" The book provides the answer as well as a few other interesting tidbits. If you haven't seen the film yet... what's stopping you, anyway? This book would be a fine substitute! EXCELLENT!!!
Rating: Summary: It was not that good. Review: The X Files was not that great of a book. I did not like it that much because it was the same thing of the movie. I mean like if it was the skript exept they just put it in a book style.
Rating: Summary: X-Files Fight The Future Review: The X-Files novel, Fight the Future, is a great book if you like the X-Files in general. Fight the Future goes into more detail into the government's conspiracy of denying the existence of aliens. Mulder and Scully are two FBI agents who are trying to make these men keeping thier existence a secret "famous", which mean to expose them. Mulder's sister, Samantha Mulder, was abducted by aliens, he believes, long ago. The search for Samantha is what spurs Mulder on. Scully joined Mulder on the X-Files, but she was assigned to him to keep an eye on him and tell the conspirators what he was up to. Scully broke her truth with these men and became loyal to Mulder. Fight the Future begins with a bomb explosion destorying a building. This building was destoryed to cover up bodies which were infected with an alien virus. Mulder and Scully find the bomb, but the man who was to disarm it ordered an evacuation and let the bomb go off to cover up the bodies. Mulder and Scully are blamed for the bomb and are ordered to be split up. Mulder gets advice from a man whom the government is trying to find and kill to shut him up, and he finds out why the building was destroyed. Mulder and Scully then venture out on clues to a huge tent-like building filled with bees. Scully gets stung by one of these bees, and Mulder calls a hospital. The conspirators have intercepted his call and they go and take Scully, who is spasiming. Mulder is grazed by a bullet from a gun in the hands of the fake hospital men. When Mulder wakes up he gets help from one of the conspirators, who later kills himself. Mulder never thought that he would get help from one of the original conspirators. He has the vaccine to the virus Scully has and the coordinates to her location. Mulder comes to the coordinates and falls into an alien shuttle. Mulder searches through many human infected corpses untill he comes to Scully. He gets her and gives her the vaccine and escapes while the space shuttle leaves. When Mulder and Scully try to tell others about thier adventure they are laughed at as usual, but the X-Files were reopened. The investigations will continue, but it was said that one man alone cannot fight the future.

Rating: Summary: Great Movie, Great Book! Review: The X-Files seems to have become the biggest marketable sci-fi television show in history. The Movie lives up to the expectations of fans as does the book which coinsides with it. The simplest way to put it is "Great Movie, Great Book!"
Rating: Summary: The X-Files: Fight The Future book cannot be missed! Review: The X-Files: Fight The Future novelisation of the feature film has been released and it is fantastic, mainly because it contains extra scenes and dialogue that were not included in the movie (most probably cut out)-- one specific scene is the explanation of Samantha's abduction and her DEATH and to make her a human/alien hybrid, so she would be immune to the effects of the black oil (This scene was NOT included in the movie!) Knowing that it is written by the legendary Chris Carter himself is even better and makes you read on and on and on - I suggest you read this book AFTER you see the movie, however, as it seems much better (I, unfortunately, did the opposite - but the movie is still better than the book). The book captures the mood and atmosphere of the feature film, but unfortunately it cannot convey all the special effects, loud explosions and the visual graphics onto the pages. A must have for any X-Phile, movie buff or anyone else -- incase you miss the movie, pick it up, also. 5 sunflower seeds out of 5!
Rating: Summary: Parts of the truth definitely in here! Review: This book came out in Manila, Philippines before the movie, and really helped in keeping me up to date on the plot line. I started from scratch, doing background reading on the "X-Files" so I could understand the movie. Started with the official site, then the fan fiction, and can now be called a novice X-philer. The book complements the movie very well, and I think Chris Carter did an excellent job in expanding the series from its original TV format to the big screen, and now books. Great work!
Rating: Summary: AN INSULT TO ANY TRUE X-PHILE Review: This book dissapointed me BIG TIME!!!! I guess if you only watch the show once a year it would be ok, but to any TRUE fan, its pitiful! The so-called writes, Elizabeth someone-or-other, Gets quotes wrong, skips parts, lets her imagination run wild, and completely misinterprets the whole story. I found myself wondering if she had ever seen an episode of "The X-Files". A total waste of six bucks. Save your money and get a book such as "I want to believe"
Rating: Summary: Must read for true X-Philes Review: This book is a bit more detailed than the movie. The action scenes from the movie does not translate as well into the book, but for the true fans of the x-files this is definitely worth reading. For more involved story lines, fans should read the novels from Charles Grant and Kevin J. Anderson. The only disappointment from the book is that it was very short and you can easily finish it in one night.
Rating: Summary: The best adaptation of a book I ever read! Review: This book is excellent. This book was pratically word-for-word with added parts. That's what I like in an adaptation. I really liked this book. Worth all six dollars, even though I was a little dissapointed with the pictures. The discriptions are really good. Especially the discriptions of the scene in Mulder's hallway and the part in Antarctica. I finished this book in less than one day. I couldn't put it down. Even if you aren't an X-Phile, I think you could be interested in this book and absolutely love it. I saw the movie first, so it was easy to picture the scenes in my head. I enjoyed every part of it. A job very well done.
