Summary: Like watching paint dry.
Review: A terrible disappointment. I got a copy of this book for free when I bought the video, and still feel vaguely ripped off. It's good for reviewing bits of dialogue if you don't feel like firing up the VCR, but otherwise adds nothing to one's X-Files experience. Unless you're a hardcore 'phile with nothing to read on an airplane, leave it on the shelf and read *any* other book ever written.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I would say EXCELLENT, but then I'd be lying.........
Review: Botttom line, I am an X-Phile, but that doesn't mean I love everything Chris Carter does. This is a fine book, but I thought it was just a little too dead. It SCREAMS "This is EXACTLY what happened, this is the EXACT way it happened, and this is EXACTLY what it looks like" There's no description whatsoever. As for the overall book, I'm glad CC decided not to include a billion pictures. Anyone who thinks they can save their seven bucks to see a movie by reading a five dollar adaption is completely destroyed by this one adaption. One to three small pictures, not highlighting key moments, included in the book, it doesn't paint the picture. The reader is forced to read it, instead of looking at a few pictures and figuring out what happens next without reading it. Good movie adaption novels are often so degraded by a dozen pictures that it is called a Junior novellization, which is written in more abstract for younger audiences. That way, parents can in a way let their kids see a R movie without actually seeing it.

Summary: The book was well written and addictive.
Review: I couldn't put it down, a GREAT book

Summary: Well...I finished the book...YOU ORDER THIS BOOK NOW!!!
Review: I finished the book a couple of days ago. It was awesome!!! It is an excellent novelization of the movie. It cannot be missed by anyone. Don't listen to the person who gave this book 1 star, she doesn't know what the heck she is talking about! It is a very good book, and I suggest reading the books before seeing the movie, cause usually books are better than the movie. I must warn, some parts are funny, some parts are full of action, and some parts are disgusting. (Readers with weak stomachs beware!!!)

If you want a copy, pick it up at Amazon.com cause it is way cheaper and they sell the hardcover edition, too, which I ordered from here cause I couldn't find it anywhere else, and I wanted the hardcover edition because they last longer. Once again, it is an excellent novelization of the movie and now I want to go see the movie. I heard it is excellent! Now while I go see the movie, you go order the book if you don't have it. 'Kay? The truth is out there in the book! "TRUST NO ONE."

Summary: Good recap of the movie but writing quality is TERRIBLE!
Review: I have not read the whole book yet, but I was anxious to let people know that IF you read *real* books (not just novelizations of movies like this) be FOREWARNED! The writing is sub-par, complete with sentence fragments, weird diction, and hackneyed descriptive passages. Like Grisham novels, though, the story itself -- leaving the writing out if the discussion -- is interesting. A page-turner. This book is helpful if you had trouble figuring out what was going on. Don't expect Norman Mailer or Maya Angelou though.

Summary: WHAT A WONDERFUL NOVEL!!!
Review: I haven't seen the movie yet, and I guess this is kind of ruining it for me, but this novel is an excellent read. I think Elizabeth Hand did a great job at adapting it. I have read her "Millennium" adaptations and they are perfect. I liked how the novel explained what happened to Samantha Mulder. Great pics as well. Any dedicated X-Phile or a new fan who has just seen the movie and wants to know more should by this novelisation. It's legend!!!!

Summary: Great for those confusing parts
Review: I like the book because it helps me to clear up and understand some of the things going on. It helped me to understand the conspiracy and the seriousness of the conspiracy alot better.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was the best book it followed the movie great.
Review: I liked this book because, if you watch the televison show you get to know the characters and this is what you want to see in their performances in the book and the movie. The book did go into more detail than the movie that is why I liked it so much. It also let the reader know more about the mythology of the XFiles. This is why I loved this book so much. Also the book had some good pictures in it from the movie. This book was great.
