Summary: A Gripping Novel
Review: This book keeps you interested and never lets its characters or plot stray too far from your mind; that is if you can put down the book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Michael Crichton meets R. L. Stevenson
Review: I've been a fan of the authors for quite some time. I read Riptide, and while it was not great, it was a good fast paced yarn. It kept me entertained, and was very cinematic in nature. I can defintely see a movie being made from this.

I however was a little bit dissapointed. I figured out the radioactivity angle long before anyone else did. I mean it was so blatant that anyone who lives in the late 20th century should have picked up on it. I did not however figure on the sword being made from a meteorite. Not being a physicist, I can not comment on the veracity of radiation playing that much havoc on electronic components.

So yea, the story had a few weak points, and the characters were somewhat one dimensional, but for a summer or airline read it is worth picking up.

Summary: THE MAXIMUN ADVENTURE; A PAGE TURNER AT WARP SPEED
Review: I first read RELIC and put it down after the first 100 pages. I was reluctant to give these a guys a second chance at my money. but I am glad I did. This was so great, I went out and got it in hard back for my home library. People don't wait, but go ahead and read this. I will be going out to get the NEW BOOK " THUNDERHEAD". RIPTIDE will take you at warp factor 10.

Summary: Nice twist in Oak Island traesure story
Review: Because i'm familiar with the story of Oak Island, i bought this book to find out what a novel writer would make of this well documentated history. I was not disappointed. It took me two days to finish the book, having almost no time for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As i read the book in Dutch, i'm not able to compare the original vs the translation, but i suppose the original will be more thrilling. The are just a few flaws in the story line. The bad guy becomes to sudden a bad guy and at the end the story rushes to fast to an ending. Nevertheless i really enjoyed the book and i recommend it (especially for a holiday or a rainy weekend).

Summary: Great story, but dies at the end
Review:

Spoilers in my review.

I thought the book was great, until Mailn discovered the radioactive twist. Then the story went south. There were plenty of other outcomes that could have been had, which would have left me more satisfied with the ending. I really needed to see them get some treasure. (one coin did not do it.)

Summary: Intelligent, fast-paced reading!!
Review: One of the best books I've read this year, Riptide is a twist-filled rollercoaster ride; an adrenaline rush that also stimulates your imagination. A pirate adventure story for modern times, I recommend this to all of us who get bored with the typical, predictable detective thriller or courthouse yarn. Riptide is completely original, thoroughly researched and fun to read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fast and smooth!!
Review: A good read for readers who like fast and smooth plots. Looking forward to read "The Relic".

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It ain't no Tresure Island !!!
Review: I have never been one of those who like pirates and buckeneers...."Riptide" changed my oppinion. It doesn't have the same speed as "Relic" or "Reliquary" but it does keep you at the edge of you seat...and any book that does that to you, is worth a read...but not on a stormy night !

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most captivating book I have read recently
Review: From the very beginning to the last page, Preston held my attention and interest. The plot and characters of Riptide come alive with action, energy and suspense. I wanted to read more after the story ended.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Hardy Boys Mysteries for Adults
Review: I was humming the tv show theme the whole time. If you enjoy GI Joe book and records, or Hardy/Nancy Drew books, grab this book. It's got PIRATES "Arrrg!", TREASURE "Oooh", BOOBYTRAPS "Yikes!" But man, it let's you down. Great setup, and the the whole damn souffle falls flat.
