Rating: Summary: The best, most intense, and most involving TNG book ever!!!! Review: This by far is my favorite Star Trek book of all. It's unique order somehow lends a realness to the story that not many other books possess. The story itself explains a great deal about the characters of both Counselor Deanna Troi and Commander William Riker, and their interactions, on both professional and personal level, throughout the TNG series. This book enlightens fans everywhere as Peter David delves into the murky past, and shines a probing light on the mysteries of the relationship between the two who call each other Imzadi. Peter David then turns that same beacon of light into the future, and allows us a small glimpse of what is to come...or more precisely, the possibility of what is to come. Peter David has just the right mix of everything that he puts into his writing. This story grabs your heart, and your imagination from the very beginning. I've read my (hardcover) book so many times that I can open it to any page and recite it almost word for word; I just couldn't seem to put it down. You are not a true TNG fan if you haven't read this book. Peter David has written a masterpiece that will live on in Star Trek history for ever.
Rating: Summary: True Love, Star Trek Style Review: This is a story of what you will do to save the life of the one you love, or, what love is capable of. It has got to be one of the best STTNG books I've ever read (see my review of Time's Enemy to see the BEST ST book of all time), and it is the only book I have ever read that shows, once and for all, what real love is all about. The book opens with a completely demoralized, elderly Admiral Riker grumpily running Starbase 86, with a nervous lieutenant looking after him. The lieutenant tells him there is a message from Betazed: Luaxana Troi is dying, she wants him to come to Betazed. He gets there, and she doesn't die until she impresses upon him that it's his fault that her daughter, Deanna, is dead. That's okay, Admiral Riker's life has deteriorated because he believes it, too. Then Data tells him that it may not be true, that in another timeline, Deanna lives. He explains that in this timeline, not only did she live, but she stopped a peace treaty with the Sindareen, a warrior race that is similar to the Ferengi in that they will trade with anyone...but their trade is based on terrorizing worlds and stealing everything they sell. When Riker hears the story of how Deanna didn't die, he immediately sets out to go back in time and save her from her fate. Data decides to stop him at all costs, in keeping with the Temporal Prime Directive. Riker cannot live without trying to prevent Deanna's death, and Data cannot live with allowing Riker to stop it. Not to give away too much of the ending, BUT in the end, Riker turns out to be right and Data is wrong. This is true love, fellow readers. That's all that this book is about. I cannot stress it enough: this is the story of how one person can change your life permanently, and without them, you are lost. It's about the lengths one will go to to save the one they love, and, in the end, how love can be the strength you draw from when you have nothing left.
Rating: Summary: Who would William T Riker become without his Imzadi? Review: This is an incredible undertaking for Peter David. To delve deep into the past of William Riker and Dianna Troi's relationship, as well as an alternate future. But what lengths will Riker go to change his past, and thier future together? What lies in the past for these two....and what happened that caused them to not see or speak to each other until they met once again on the bridge of the Enterprise? This book answers these questions and many more. Peter David has captured the charachters with accuracy and understanding. We see intense action, witty dialogue, and romance and danger. An expansive novel, this should be a part of any TNG fan's collection.

Rating: Summary: IMZADI! Review: This is definitely one of the better Star Trek: TNG books out there. Riker literally goes to the end of the universe and back to save Deanna. Please add this to your collection.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Star Trek novels Review: This is the first adult book I read at the age of eleven and it was such an excellent read that it encouraged me to further explore into the world of books aimed at adult readers so it will always have a soft spot in my heart.
'Imazadi' mainly focuses on Will Riker and Deanna Troi, delving into their past- something we never really learnt about in the TV show- as well as showing us their present and a possible tragic future. This book really is a mixture of everything from romance to angst to, of course, science fiction.
Peter David is not only a gifted author but he has such a good grasp of the Star Trek characters, in particular Will Riker and Deanna Troi, that as you read the book, you're getting a visual sense of how it would appear on screen. The characters seemed so alive in 'Imazadi' and I think it really endeared me to Riker and Troi (who I never really liked in the TV show).
I think any Star Trek fan would love this book, especially if you love the Riker/Troi relationship and the Classic Star Trek episode 'The City On the Edge Of Forever'
Rating: Summary: Perhaps the greatest TNG book to date. Review: This is the story of how Deanna Troi and William Riker, both of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D, first met and fell in love. It is also the story of how that love ties two people together, even across the unimaginable distance of alternate realities. Peter David has done an extraordinary job explaining everything you need to know, without sounding reduntant to those who are already familiar with ST:TNG. It doesn't matter if you are a die-hard Trek fan, or a housewife who can't tell a Tribble from a Tellarite, you will love this book. Imzadi's incredible story will capture your imagination and tug at your heartstrings.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful story Review: This novel is truly incredible. It can be summed up in one word: magical. The story is just packed full of wonderful, unusual events - and we finally find out how Deanna & Will met...and broke up. But the book is not just made up of this story. There's a whole future world, where Riker lives heartbroken because Deanna died way back in the past - around season 4 or 5. This old Riker decides to sacrifice his whole future timeline by doing what his heart tells him - using the Guardian of Forever to go back in time and save his Imzadi's life. It's an absolutely fabulous tale. The only problems are some "technical" details because of later seasons changing things. Such as, in the book, Wesley Crusher is a captain - however, we now know he went off to "fulfill his own destiny". But these little mistakes are easy to overlook as you're reading this powerful, wonderful book. (Have I said how good it is yet?) I read "Imzadi" in one sitting, straight through, without taking a break - I couldn't! This is the one novel that has it all - suspense, intrigue, humor, time-travel, superb characterization, fun, joy, sadness (I nearly cried several times), but most of all, it's about the true love of Deanna & Will, Imzadi forever. The only thing left to say is - read "Imzadi"!
