Summary: Very episode like but still good entry
Review: Book 5 in a series of 7.

Edmund and Lucy(Peter and Susan don't return in this one) are joined by a rather irritating cousin, Eustace, as they travel into Narnia by a painting. There, they must help King Caspian find his exiled ancestors. There they sail to various islands and its perils, such as the invisible people, an island where water turns everything to gold and where dreams come true. At the end, they reach the end of the world where one of the travellers must go into Aslan's country.

While it's told very episode-like like you would see on tv, it's a delightful read and has some great characters

Summary: A Quest to the Edge of the World
Review: When Caspian became king, he made a pledge to track down the seven friends of his father that had been sent to explore the unknown waters beyond the Lone Islands. After establishing peace, he sets off and is aided in his quest by Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin Eustace, who arrive from England via a magic picture. Bravely sailing into the unknown (occasionally prodded by the mouse Reepicheep), they encounter dragons, sea creatures, magic, and lots of danger. Will they be able to find the seven Lords?

I love this book in the series, probably partially because it is set at sea. The story is episodic in nature, but the quest and information found along the way keep things moving forward. And there is plenty of action and adventure to keep anyone entertained. Lewis really used his imagination to create some of the locals where the boat stops, and it's fun seeing what he came up with. I especially love the Dufflepuds, although I'm glad I never have had a conversation with them.

As with any series, there are little things you'll pick up on if you read them in order. However, it's not strictly necessarily. Anyone looking for a fantasy adventure will love this book.

Summary: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Review: I think that "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" was a fantastic book. I liked it because it had a lot of suspence and adventure. The story was about how King Caspian (a king of another world called Narnia)and his crew sail out to the end of their world. This world, unlike ours, is flat and nobody has ever sailed out that far. Throughout their journey they come upon many new islands which hold secrets beyond anyones belief. In conclusion, I think that this book was fantastic and that anyone who purchases it will be very happy with the plot-line and over all story.

Summary: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Review: One day Lucy and Edmund are visiting their snotty cousin Eustance when they are suddenly transported to Narnia. They are going on a voyage to the end of the world of Narnia and in search for 7 lords that were cast away by Marza. On this daring voyage they come across many forsaken lands and wonderful adventures while they sail on the Dawn Threader to the end of Nairnia

Summary: An Odyssey-like adventure in Narnia
Review: This volume of the Chronicles of Narnia finds Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin Eustace back in Narnia again (Peter and Susan are too old now and can never return). In this story, the children enter Narnia in the midst of the sea, and are taken aboard Prince Caspian's ship The Dawn Treader. They join Caspian and his crew on an Odyssey-like voyage to the end of the world, encountering many strange people, creatures and places along the way.

Christian references in this book are abundant (as they are throughout the series). The most obvious is the change in Eustace, who goes from being a nasty, self-centered boy at the beginning to a tolerable child by the end. It is all because of a meeting with Aslan, of course, that this change comes about. The connection of Aslan with Christ is obvious throughout the series, but becomes even more so in this book, where he appears in the form of a lamb and tells Lucy that, though he is present on Earth, he is known by a different name there. His statement that the children have come to Narnia with the sole purpose of learning of him (Aslan/Christ) completes the allegory.

One of the most intriguing things about CS Lewis's fiction is that he believed that Christianity could be taught through fantasy, or "fairy stories," as JRR Tolkien called them. Throughout this series, there are many references to Christianity, and these books truly do fulfill their purpose of entertaining children while teaching them good moral values at the same time.

Summary: My fav. in the series(but I havent read the last one yet)
Review: I bought the book entitled "The Complete Chronicles of Narnia" from Amazon.com ... about 3 weeks ago, and I have NOT been able to put it down, it has all 7 of the books in this series. I have read 5 of them and am about 3/4 of the way done with "The Silver Chair" and so far, "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" has been my favorite. Eustace Clarence Scrubb joins Edmund and Lucy as they go on an adventure of their lifetime. (As if going to Narnia werent an adventure enough) They travel from island to island, doing the Christopher Columbus Thing, you know, exploring unexplored islands. They run into lots of adventures along the way, and I would recommend this book to all.

Summary: The best in the Narnia Chronical series!
Review: I loved this book when I first read it when I was in 5th grade. I actually read all of the books in the Narnia series 3 times. However, I read the Voyage of the Dawn Treader 5 times. It was by far my favorite. I also loved the illustrations from Pauline Baynes in this book. I could look at those drawings for hours. Many of the other reviewers give away too much of the plot. So beware of them! Just know that if you want to be transported to another time and place, then this book is it!

My least favorite book in the Narnia series is Prince Caspian because it was rather bleak. Even though Prince Caspian is first introduced in the Prince Caspian book, his character in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader is much more interesting and uplifting.

If you cannot read all of the books in the Narnia series, even though you should, then the Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the best one to read. This book captures the imagination and adventure in us all. I plan to read all of the Narnia books again. I can't wait to share these book with my kids when they get older. Happy reading!

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the fifth edition of the series The Chronicles of Narnia, is an interesting story, but first, you have to know about Narnia to understand it better. Narnia is a real secret country where four people, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, and Peter. Narnia is a land of witches and talking animals, kings and queens, adventures and mysteries. Their time is different from ours; one week in this world equals 1000 years in Narnia. The only way you can reach Narnia is by going in pictures, wearing green and yellow rings, any form of magic can transport you to here instantly.
This book is about when in Narnia, Lucy, Edmund, their cousin, Eustace, and Caspian, sail on a ship known as "Dawn Treader" to search for seven lords, and they want to reach the end of the world. Their challenges, struggles, and adventure brings them to the end of the Narnian world.....known as the country of Aslan.
I loved this book; it was adventurous and thrilling, like the other four books before this one. My favorite part was the fact that Lucy and Edmund's cousin, Eustace, came too, because I was able to read Eustace's new experience about Narnia.
Overall, this book was fantastic. It was a thriller. If I could, I would give this book an award and I would give it more than five stars.

Review: The star rating I would give to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis would be a four.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a great book. I give this book a four rating because of how elaborate and adventurous it is. They also wnat to sail to the end of the world into Aslan's country. Throughout this great adventure, they are plagued with many unexpected problems which they are forced to face in order to continue their journey. Summary: Mr.Tawney right here!!!
Review: I thought the book was great! It is one of the best books I have ever read. The book is about a boat named the Dawn Treader and it's crew. Some people in this book are in other Narnia books such as Caspian, from the book Prince Caspian, Lucy, and Edmund with there new to Narnia cousin Eustace. The story is great and I really like Reepicheep the mouse that could talk. My favorite part was where Eustace turned himself into a dragon and could fly over the island. Lucy, Edmund and Eustace were [taken]in by a picture of a boat. Onboard they met Caspain and went with them on their journey to find seven men that Caspain's father sent out to see what was to the east of Lone Islands, Where no man had gone and returned. on their way there a storm hit and they landed on a unknown island. They went looking around on the island to see if one of the seven men were on the island. They found several more islands and found the remains of several men. They sailed past the Silver Sea and to the end of the world. This book was great and I really liked the book.
