Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the greatest adventures of ancient Egypt Review: This is by far one of Wilbur Smith's best books. I could not put it down. The detail he puts into the story that will keep you reading through the night and into the day. For anyone with a love of history and reading this book was written for you
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Compares to George RR Martin Review: When I first started reading Birds Of Prey, I was immediately hooked by the way the author lays out the story. I went on to read Monsoon and was over taken with emotion. I waited for his new book to come out(a very long time). I found out it had to do with Egypt(Warlock). I went to read River God. WOW! What a great read. Some readers will not like his way of words with violence and sex. I love it because he doesn't sugercoat anything. These books are not for children or adults who don't act like adults. If you have any interest in ancient Egypt, this book is for you. I have just started reading The Seventh Scroll which is a sequal that takes place 4000 years after the first story. If you like George RR Martin's fantasy novels you will loves these books by Wilbur Smith.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Taita Rules! Review: Wilbur Smith is my favorite writer, I would rate most of his books in the 4 to 5 star range, but so far this is my favorite. We even named our new dog, a yorkie, Taita. I can't recommend this work highly enough. It allows the reader to time travel into ancient Egypt. As with all his books, you hate the end because it's over.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wilbur's the Best Review: Wilbur Smith is the best storyteller ever. I've read all the Courtney books and then the 4 Ballantyne books and enjoyed many a flight or evening of reading. I recently completed River God and Warlock and these are great writings. Fun, exciting, easy to read. Be sure to read River God before reading Warlock for the greatest enjoyment. Now I'm about to go to Seventh Scroll and if it's half as good as these other two on ancient Egypt I'll be back with a review in a week.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: River God - Literary Perfection Review: River God is one of the most gripping books I have ever read. I loved the way that just when you thought the book must be coming to an end in the plot, new threads are introduced. River God follows the life of an enunch in Ancient Eygpt, Taita and his connections to the highest ranking people in Upper Eygpt at that time. I really don't think I could have learnt more about Egyption gods and lifestyle from a text book, every thing is so carefully researched but portrayed interestingly. I would not recomend this book to a reader with a non-comittal attitude to reading as it is long and takes a while to get into it but after a chapter I found myself so engrossed that I could barely put te book down and was up many a nightuntil very late reading.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An exotic journey Review: Unlike most other works by Wilbur Smith, this novel is set in the context of ancient Egypt. Smith has been successful in taking the reader through the journey to past. It is a wonderful book to read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Ancient Egypt, land of the Pharaohs Review: Interested in a novel of Ancient Egypt? Then you'll love this book. Tatia the Slave tells you the story of his life, from his mistress, Lotris, to his master, Lord Intef, to the merciless, cruel, Rasfer, to the almighty Pharaoh. See the mysterious world of Ancient Egypt, from the eyes of a slave. Tatia is unlike all other slaves, he is a doctor, teacher, playwright, author, and reader of the mazes of Ammon-Ra, which tell the future in code through hallucination. This book is truly worth the time and money to read. With a plot that is thick and complicated, and characters that a reader can connect with, and read between the lines without too much difficulty, how can you lose?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Awesome, can't wait to read more Wilbur Smith.... Review: I was very impressed with River God....The characters were great, the descriptions were good and I didn't want the book to end. This was my first book of smith's and I look forward to the semi-sequel and other smith novels.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Book Review: Wilbur Smith is a genius. River God is an excellent book for anyone who enjoys historical fiction and action. Set in Ancient Egypt, this is an epic novel that spans about 50 years and is incredibly entertaining. All of Smith's stuff is great. The follow up to River God, The Seventh Scroll, is great too, but read River God first, then The Seventh Scroll. Incredibly intruiging and thought-provoking.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great historical romance Review: I wish there were more books like this. I really loved it, it never bored me, and the historical background is so accurate.
