Rating: Summary: A Worthy Sequel Review: It's not often i enjoy a book so much that i read it once and immediatly purchase them. This was such a book. This was just so moving, i cried. If you loved the first book, A Voice on the Wind, this will definetly be worth it!
Rating: Summary: Best of the Mark of the Lion series Review: Rivers captures the heart of Christianity and the importance, and poignancy, of our personal search for a relationship with God.
Rating: Summary: Engrossing first century historical fiction. Review: Rivers clearly researched thoroughly to present this fascinating tale of early Christians including John the apostle. With real struggles and personalities
we learn how we can grow through prayer and recall of the Scriptures as we see the outcome of trials and testings beyond 20th century American experience. Book 2 of a series but could easily stand alone.
Rating: Summary: SUPERB FOLLOW ON Review: The sequel to VOICE IN THE WIND and second in the 'MARK OF THE LION' trilogy, continues the story of the Valerian family. Sometimes sequels can leave you feeling a little let down, but not so with this book. It flows with superb detail from where the story left off in the first book. The characters are so believable and you find yourself thinking about them even when you are not reading the book. Without giving anything away there are a few surprises. The unbending faith found in some of the characters leaves you feeling challenged as you read. Definitely a book not to be left on the shelf
Rating: Summary: Encouraged and blessed Review: There are times in our Christian walk that we may not see all that the Lord is doing - yet He is doing much on behalf of His children. The power of God - through His mercy and grace was displayed throughout the entire book - God moving through every situation and circumstance in the life of all those associated with Hadassah. The faith of one woman inspiring others to look to Jesus. There were times when she felt unsure of herself - but God always gave her a scripture to remind her of His promises. Francine shows the reader how truly frail we are, and how much we need God in our lives. To the Christian, how we need to be more compassionate to win the lost to Christ and reminding us just exactly where we were before we received Him in our lives. Hadassah's character at the beginning of "Voice in the Wind", was one of timidity and fear - but God helped her to overcome this as her relationship with Him grew she was more faithful to His voice.
Rating: Summary: A definite page-turner. Review: This book is much darker than the first. I would not recommend reading this book without reading the third afterwords. Much of this story is graphic. Definitely not intended for younger readers. This book has many parallels to current day life. It will cause you to look at the world around you. An excellent book.
Rating: Summary: Very well could be the greatest book I've ever read!!! Review: This book was absolutely phenomenal! Rivers provides a gift that will never be forgotten. Her extensive knowledge and research of the times combined with her discriptive ability led to a truly remarkable piece of work. She breathed life into the characters in a way that may have never been done before. She created a sense of longing for the main characters that has never been felt before. My only wish is that Rivers will continue to write stories about this time period or perhaps about the lives of the main characters during their time of persecution. If you read this review, please get the series as soon as you can--it will change your life!

Rating: Summary: Read this book! Really! Review: This is an excellent book, exciting and always real. The characters are true to life, so much that you miss them when you're done with the series. Rivers is an amazing, descriptive, powerful writer and I can confidently recommend every one of her books. Some say that Rivers overdoes the parallels between ancient Rome and modern America. However, though the similarities are accentuated in the books, they are included only because they are historical--Rivers spent six months researching ancient Rome and was herself astounded by its similarity to modern America. I encourage you, as one who reads much and knows good literature--read this series! Especially the first two books.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievably Good Review: This is the second book in the series Mark of the Lion by Francine Rivers. I really enjoyed reading it. The ending is so pleasing, you want to read it again and again! Absolutely delightful...
