Rating: Summary: Good story, but I've seen it before... Review: Nothing new here, as Mulder and Scully investigate a strange case (but then again, isn't that always the way on The X-Files?) involving nanotechnology and a possible cure for cancer. While an entertaining read, and certainly a plausible story, it read too much like an episode of "The Outer Limits" - a scientist tests his nanotechnology on himself, and the nanites get out of control, "improving" him until it's too late, then being transferred to his wife and unborn child. There is another book out there that read very similar to this one, and was done in a much more effective way - Dean Koontz' "Watchers". Still, as far as the novel standing alone goes, it was an entertaining read and a worthwhile purchase to add it to my collection
Rating: Summary: It feels like I'm watching the show Review: In this and other X files novels, I find the Mulder and Scully characterizations excellent. Of course they don't have the actors quirky delivery but they are the next best thing. This book did a great job of describing the details so you could easy follow what was going on. Let's face it X-files has some pretty interesting situations, so the author here had to do a more than adequate job of getting their point across.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Review: As a fan of The X-Files and Kevin J. Anderson, this novel is all I could have hoped for. It has an interesting plot, a wonderful storyline, and everything that made the show great in written form. It's always hard to tell if a TV show novel is good because of the popularity of the show or if the author is actually a decent writer but in this case, I can tell you it's both. Even if you're not a fan of The X-Files, it still makes for an interesting read. It's a must!
Rating: Summary: antibodies Review: This book was easy to follow and very creative. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Buy it and read it.
Rating: Summary: Anti-Bodies Review: The book is incredible. The author uses a easy-understanding discriptive terms. It is sometimes unpredictable but it's not confusing, at all.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: I have to admit that for me most all of the books fall well short of the appeal of the show. There was nothing all that great in the characterizations of Mulder and Scully in the novel. Nothing that stood out in my mind as being dead on characterizations of them, however the plot is interesting and appropriately conspiracy-esque. It has the elements of a solid "monster" episode, but I'm still left wanting more. It would be great if someone connected to the show would pen a novel Chris Carter or Darren Morgan would be great(at least Morgan would bring the twisted humor into the writing). And I agree with a reviewer that a Gibson book would be outstanding. Still this book is solid in the monster/conspiracy category though lacking in Mulder and Scully characterizations.
Rating: Summary: antibodies Review: Although the book is a fun read for any of us x-philes, I would like to see a really well-written x-files book. Maybe William Gibson could cut it. The text tends to be a little juvenile; great for the kids, but the rest of us could use something more mentally stimulating. Still, it's always great to meet our favorite heros in text.
Rating: Summary: the Virus Review: I just finished Kevin J. Anderson's x-files antibodies. It was an exciting book but it took a few pages to get going. It was great from the second chapter on. From when the building burnt down with the guy who got the virus was in it. Now they have to find the guy who made the virus, because it's spreading more and more. I like the way the book had alot of mysteries for instance one would get solved and another one would start up. the book concerns a chemical lab that burnt down and a guy working with an effective technology died in the fire. Now Mulder and scully have to find the guy who made the virus David Kennesey
Rating: Summary: Hackwork galore Review: This book is awful. No doubt it will appeal to some (there's no accounting for taste), but at the core of it, the plot is weak, the writing mediocre and the characterizations untrue.
Rating: Summary: Great book, but predictable Review: This is a great book and I really loved it. However, if you didn't read the back summary and you read it, you would have been able to realize, "there's going to be a coverup, that dog's involved somehow and the boy's nanocritters will disappear so there's no proof." But it was deserving of four stars.
