Summary: Change of heart
Review: Before, I thought I HATED HATED HATED this book because Alanna married stupid ole George and not Jonathan. Now I see that that is a snap judgement and I was worng. Although I really wanted Alanna and Jonathan to marry each other, I see that this couldn't happen without changing the plotline to the whole series. Tamora Pierce is a genius to have realized that Alanna couldn't marry Jonathan (or either she just wanted her to marry George in the first place). Well, I guess everything can't turn out you like (although I am REALLY REALLY rooting for the Sandry and Briar union in her Circle of Magic bks). In conclusion, I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bk and think that it is the best one in the series (although the 2nd one is right up there). PS: George is pretty cool...

Summary: Not bad! . . .
Review: Well, Alanna's attitude is still hopeless: striving to be "tough", falling in love with everyone in sight, sleeping with them, and still unable to decide when a proposal comes along.

Okay, I'm tired from saying the same thing to all the books in the Lioness Quartet. This one at least deserves some recognition. Alanna, well, she's still the stuck-up, bratty player all right. And the people around her seem to love her for it, but oh, well, the plot in this book was great. Tamora Pierce could've sped things up at bit, though. The ending was superb - not just because it finally freed me from reading the books (I wanted to see if Alanna changed at all in between the books), but there was lots of action and excitement and the resolution wasn't bad. This and IN THE HAND OF THE GODDESS were the better ones in this series.

Summary: Gooooood book! But Really sad.
Review: I read Alanna #1 (The first adventure) when I was seven and Iread it maybe ten times a year. My poor books are falling apart. Thiswhole series is Marvelous and Wonderful! (With capitals) If you like fantasy and are between the ages of six and nine thousand I suggest you ransack every bookstore to find these books. You'll be hooked! Not only is the reading good for you, It's good for the universe, It'll have more sense! Believe me it's worth it! Recommend them to the world. Every person I have given it to (most of my reading friends) have loved it! Borrow it from the library! Buy it for the library! Quick! It'll change your life! (I'm just a little enthusiastic) (No really?)

Summary: sad
Review: I can't really say anything about this book except that I HATED HATED HATED it....I thought the writing was phenomenal, the characters exceptional, the plot fantastic. How can I hate it, you say? ALANNA MARRIED STUPID OLE GEORGE! She and the prince were MEANT for wach other. I cried...

Summary: Brilliant read
Review: I love how the 4 books describe Alanna's strong personalities: brave, smart, loyal, talented in magic and fighting, and stubborn in her own ways. But I must admit I was surprised when I see Alanna with George at last because all along I think the Prince and Alanna are meant for each other. But I think the weak Thayet's appearance ruined everything. ( I dislike every noblewomen in the book, but I like Mistress Cooper and Kara and others)

Overall, I like the ending very much and I just wish if only Alanna is a real person I can meet in real life..

Summary: The first ones were better
Review: After the first books set such a good standard, it was quite shocking that this one slipped so badly. Hauling up an old enemy and wandering from place to place were no substitute for a good plot.

Summary: ONE OF THE GREATIST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ!
Review: This series was the BEST group of books that I have ever read in my life! I liked it because of the vivid discription of the majical world. Even if it was majical it feels like you could really be apart of Alanna's life. In this book Alanna is finishing up her known adventures as a knight. In the book before it discribes how her twin brother Thom, the greatist sorrcer living, brings her arch enmy,Duke Roger of conte, back to life.Alanna knows he is tying to kill her friend Prince Jonathan, and gain the thrown.[Jonathan is the only heir] Meanwhile she is restless and is wanting to visit the rest of the countries anround Tortal, where she is living now.On this trip she will sort out her future. Part of that future is who she will finially marry...

Summary: eeeehhhh
Review: It could have been worse. After the wham-bam duo of ALANNA and IN THE HANDS OF THE GODDESS i don't think it could have been much better either. now that the whole jon thing is out of the way, ms. pierce felt the need to add in ANOTHER guy to confuse alanna...does 'monogamy' mean anything to her? not that i didn't think the karate guy was cool, i did. but come on! and i totally agree with one of the other reviews (scroll down a bit)...i had always pictured george as 40 too! what's that all about? i had to tape "George" over my poster of ethan hawke to get myself into the right mind frame! :) but it's good, just don't expect it to be as good as the first two!

Summary: sad but good
Review: This book rocks! It's awesome and highly exciting. I loved it although I found it sad Faithful, Liam, and Thom die! Plus Roger and Josiane but I was REALLY sad about them. I loved everything about this book I don't know where Tamora gets these ideas but they are WONDERFUL! I have read them all like five times each, if not more. and I am glad she picked George I htought that was wonderful Jon put on way to much pressure I'm glad that he found Thayet I'm glad George and Alanna got together I knew they belonged together when they saw each other in the market that first day she became a page. It was a wonderful book and it tied up all the loose endings. It's almost perfect the reason it's not is because nothing can ever be perfect but this comes pretty darn close.

Summary: awesome book just like the rest
