Rating: Summary: Perfect Finale - more please! Review: Although never able to match up to the brilliance of In the Hand of The Goddess (well it would be impossible, wouldn't it?), this book rounded up the series really well. I particulary liked Buri, and we got to know more about minor characters like Eleni. The return of Ralon was good too. And I liked the idea of Liam too. I've read other reviews where people say it was a wrong idea to put in this relationship, but Alanna was pretty confused, and showing this affair and its difficulties was one way of showing the other side of the heroine. And anyway, no-one complains about all Jon's women! (at least three)! Anyway, read this book, it is fabulous, but if you've read the first three, you'll be so addicted, you'll have to read this anyway!
Rating: Summary: Action packed and full of adventure Review: Out of all the books I'v read over the years, the "Song of the Lioness Quartet" still are my favorite books! Being a fanatic of fantasy novels, I'v got to say that this is the best so far! After I read the books, I recommended this book to all my friends. I guess because of my annoyance, they decided to give it a try. And BOOM, they automatically loved it even though they were like only on the second book. Next time they shouldn't take me for granted! I highly recommend these books along with her other two series and the new one Pierce is making: "The First Test" which is also great!
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL! Review: I love this book, a new romance, more adventure, and brand new characters. Defaintely, one of Tamora Pierce's best books. If you like romance and magic/fantasy, read Tamora Pierces books today!
Rating: Summary: Absolutly Wonderful! Review: I loved this book! In fact, I like all of Tamora Pierce's books. I liked the idea of the Dominion Jewel, but the relationship between the Shang Dragon and Alanna could have been left out. If you like science-fiction and fantasy, this is the book for you! Alanna has so much courage! She does amazing things that I never could have done. Other than her many relationships, Alanna is my role model! I don't usually like science-fiction and fantasy, so these books suprised me! These books are awesome! Keep up the good work, Tamora Peirce!
Rating: Summary: Great! So far......... Review: It's pretty good, but I didn't like the Shang Dragon. She shouldn't be with him! She loved George in the last books, and now it's like "O.k. he's not here so I'll go on and have some fun...". I'm in 6th grade, and no body in MIDDLE SCHOOL is _that_ fickle. I was upset to learn that grown ups might be this way. Ohhh no, don't you go and say that I'm to young to be reading this. I've had a Sex Education! Anyways, _I_ think this is one of the best books in the series....so far....Also reccomended: harry potter series, mindwarp, etc.
Rating: Summary: Good Review: This book was really good but i liked the first 2 better. In them Alanna was a knight. In bk3 she was a girl and she's always crying and blushing. However in this book she sort of finds her balance. I like this book but is it just me or wasn't the dominion jew introduced till the end? This whole series is really good but more for its characters then its plot. To tell the truth i liked "Alan" better than "Alanna" and although i like George it was still i bit of a shock. His too old for her. I liked Jon better but i suppose he did treat her more like a squire.
Rating: Summary: One of the best young people's fantasies around! Review: To begin with, I had a hard time deciding which of the Lioness books to review. I picked this one because it ties as my favorite with IN THE HAND OF THE GODESS. But it was a hard choice. The Lioness books, first read when I was twelve, really got me started on fantasy. Of course, I'd read Tolkien and Beagle, but not much else. I read Pierce's books and have been a devoted fantasy reader ever since. I'm now nineteen and I still reread the Lioness books and love them just as much. Alanna is a firey, spirited young woman and a wonderful hero--human and complete with fualts. By this time she has grown and progressed as a character so that she feels very, very real. The other characters always make me smile, and the ending always makes me cry. The writing style, well suited to young readers, moves you along and keeps you turning pages. This book, granted a darker one than the others, resolves many of the issues presented in the previous books in a believable and entertaining fashion. Finally, I am extremely glad Alanna marries George. He is one of my favorite rouges in all fantasy. Unfortunetly, this series has ruined Tamora Pierce for me. It was so good that her other series simply don't measure up. I entreat any lover of fantasy to read these books--I hope you love them as much as I do!
Rating: Summary: The First Two Were Better Review: I read this series and thought that 1 and 2 were the best. This one disappointed me a little. It does give a nice twist though. I hoped that Alanna would marry either Jon or that Shang Dragon Guy (forgot his name). But George?! It put a real shock on me when I read that last page. I still recommend it but the first two were much better.
Rating: Summary: Good plot, but no substance Review: I liked the first book in this series. I found the idea of a female knight very entertaining. But by the fourth book I was downright disgusted! Not only did Alanna get over her fear of love, but she slept with three guys! There is a word for that today and the only thing preventing me from saying it is because Amazon probably considers it profanity. Great idea, but it sizzled out after the first book.
Rating: Summary: This book refuses to be left alone!!! Review: Watch out this book absolutely refuses to be left alone! and I was enthralled by the way it did so. Once you are consumed by its' many events and interesting characters...Mithros help you!!!It takes you to beautiful places with kings and queens, and all kinds of warming thoughts it conveys. I hadn't read any T.P. books before this one and after I did it, violently, pushed me to the remaining three. Oh no, I couldn't stop there, not after all it gave me to endure! I promise that those amoung you who are more passionate towards life, will be suckt into this one as I have been. "Everybody dies. Not everybody really lives." Alanna has a most intriguing life (I recommend this book for females who, themselves, want to be a warrior.)
