Rating: Summary: Roberts proves why she's considered the best there is.... Review: The Key series is another fabulous trilogy by Roberts. She returns to the supernatural and takes us into the story where 3 women must find 3 "keys" to release the souls of 3 demi-goddesses. I couldn't put it down. And I'm eagerly awaiting the completion of the trilogy.
Rating: Summary: I'm sorry Review: I really do like Nora Robert's books and I love the JD Robb series, but I could not get into this book. I've read fantasy books before, I've read books like Laurell K. Hamilton and Kelley Armstrong, so nothing is too far fetched for me to read. But I tried and tried and very soon lost interest in this book. There was nothing that kept my interest, kept me wanting to read to find out how it ended and there was nothing in this first book that sparked the desire to read the next two in the series. I'm sorry, but this was not one that I would recommend.
Rating: Summary: Nora Roberts at her best Review: I absolutely loved this book! Nora Roberts once again gives us a story that absolutely grabs and pulls at you. Once you start to read, it's hard to put the book down. The book does read a lot like the Three Sisters Island trilogy but you can't deny that those books weren't fabulous either. Anyone who loves mystery, romance, and danger all rolled into one should definitely give this book as well as the series a try.
Rating: Summary: Liked it, but............... Review: I liked the story but as other reviewers have mentioned been there done that. The story line is engaging and its a fun read. However i was really disappointed at how many times Ms. Roberts used the God d*** word. She is known as one of the best writers, so why does she have to use this kind of language? I think if i counted how many times she used that it would probably be in the 30-40's. I expected more from a best selling author.
Rating: Summary: Booooooooooooring Review: Once again, we have another trilogy focusing on 3 women that are somehow "mysteriously" connected. Roberts was once one of my favorite authors, but lately, she churns out these series that are so boringly formulaic, I wonder even if she writes them herself or has a team of "aides" that write them for her. Nora, if you read this, whatever happened to stories like "Honest Illusions"? I fear success has commercialized this once talented author.
Rating: Summary: Gotcha! Review: This is the first book in a trilogy. Nora Roberts enjoys writing exciting trilogies and this book is no exception. Key of Light is the first in her new series and explores ancient celtic mythology in today's contemporary environment. This books will definitely get you hooked! I can't wait for the finale later this month!
Rating: Summary: I Usually Don't Write A Review Unless I Finish The Book Review: I borrowed this book from a friend, began reading it, and then decided that it was not worth my time. This is a very unusual thing for my to do, as I typically slog through a book, no matter how disappointing I find it. I neither liked nor disliked this book; it left me with no real impression at all. All of the ingredients are there for a good plot, but I just never bought in to the characters. It seemed like the author wrote a good outline for a novel, then spent the least amounyt of time possible turning the outline into the novel.
Rating: Summary: What happens when you write too many books...? Review: I'll tell you, they all end up sounding the same. An art gallery? Been there. A small, picturesque town? Been there. Otherworldly Celtic beings whose fate depends on the three mortal couples and their copulating... BEEN THERE TOO!!! I ask you, is there anything at all new about this story? Oh yeah, her gay best friend... just proves Roberts can keep up with what's cool in the world. The thing is, the story's not terrible. Her dialog has gotten wittier; the barbed banter between all of the characters is highly amusing. But the plot, the advancement of it, the descriptions of people and places - we've been there before, and I'd come to expect better from the woman dubbed "America's #1 women's fiction writer." In comparison to many other less-celebrated romance authors, she's not at all creative or half as engaging. Where I used to buy all of her novels, I'm now contented to get them from the library.
Rating: Summary: What a book!!! Review: Wow! What a book! I have not loved three main female characters since the women of Montana sky. Nora Roberts once again creates a stunning trilogy of mystery, fantasy, friendship, and love. The three main women have never meet before the night at the manor, but they soon bond together to become more like sisters then Friends. They change each others lives, while learning to accept change within their own. We also get all the classic "girls" night activates, such as wine night and sleepovers. There is even a memorable scene where they whip out the ouji board. On the flip side, we are introduced to all three main male characters, and their relationships with the women. And I am very pleased to say not only do we get the wonderful female friendships, we all get the male ones. All three men grew up together, and stayed the best of friends. If this book is any indication of the books to come, This Key trilogy may even be rated higher then the Ardmore series. Buy this book, because you will want to read it more then once.
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: In Pleasant Valley Malory Price is upset as her orderly professional life looks over. Seven years at the Gallery with the last three as the manager means little when the owner marries a young woman who decides to make the place her pet rock. Malory knows she must leave, but her choices are limited to either leaving western Pennsylvania or changing professions. Needing to escape, Malory changes her mind and decides to attend a reception at Warrior's Peak. Hosting the event is two odd individuals Rowena and Pitte. Also there are two other guests Dana Steele and Zoe McCourt. Rowena and Pitte offer the mortals one million dollars each to find three missing mystical keys that together will free these Daughters of Glass. Though skeptical, the human trio begins the quest, not yet understanding the danger they face. They are joined by Dana's brother Flynn. As they search for the first key with a Celtic God trying to stop them, Mal and Flynn fall in love, but is it real or is it an outsider's spell? The biggest problem wit THE KEY OF LIGHT is that it is so good that fans will be angry by Jove with Nora Roberts because they will have to wait a month each for the of audience want to believe that Celtic gods and the supernatural and paranormal are everyday reality. The key to Ms. Roberts is her talent to continually write powerfully entertaining tales that raise the quality bars of multiple genres. Harriet Klausner
