Summary: You Can't Read Just One!
Review: I picked up the first Harry Potter book to see what all the fuss and media hype was about. Now, I'm hooked. I had to read the second book and now I'm searching for the third.

Harry returns to Hogwarts against the advice of a mysterious visitor, only to find that life there is not the same as it was his first year. There's an egotistical new professor on the faculty, mysterious attacks against Muggle-born students, and a new ghost that haunts the girls' bathroom. Harry and his cohorts must get to the bottom of the mystery and, in the process, discover the real reason Hagrid was expelled.

These books are not just for kids. They're for anyone who enjoys a light, fast read with a little injection of mystery.

As for those critics who insist that the books are about the occult, that's nonsense. I grew up watching "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie", and these books are as "evil" as these television programs. The plot is the classic "good vs. evil" with a magical twist and a young, likeable hero.

Summary: Interesting and fun even for adults!
Review: I picked up the first in Rowling's series in an airport, and at 22, was a little embarassed buying it. However, I am hooked! These books are interesting, fun and full of adventure. The Harry Potter books are a great series that I think would get any child hooked on reading. They also provide nice light reading for adults every once in a while or as a book that parents and children can read together.

Summary: I loved this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I positively loved this book!! My friend is always saying that I speak Harry Potter language! I believe her! Anyone who reads this book will instantly fall in love with it, without a doubt; Chamber of Secrets is in the place of honor on my teacher's desk, and my nightstand! Five star rating is definetly not enough. I think it deserves infinite stars-that's how good it is!!!

Summary: My students wouldn't let me stop reading this book to them!
Review: I pre-ordered this book to read aloud to my 5th grade students after having read the first Harry Potter book to them, which they absolutely LOVED. It arrived about two weeks before the end of school, so we had marathon reading sessions, and once again fell under the spell of J.K. Rowling. I'm absolutely amazed that she can write with such an uncanny ability to say exactly the types of things kids want to hear -- Ron and the slugs was a masterful touch! As a teacher, anything that keeps my students enthralled with books is a winner with me, and the Harry Potter books are a phenomenal success; I even did a bulk order through Amazon for half my class after they begged me to order the books for them! Truly amazing!!

Summary: a wonderland for the mind
Review: I purchased the first book for my grandchildren, and found myself enchanted by it. A must read for children young and old. the second in this series is as delightful as the first. Don't hesitate to read this just because it is a "childrens book" it is much more than that.

Summary: Just Wonderful!
Review: I purchased two of the books for my niece and decided to see what all the fuss was about. I read both of them in two days! I was amazed that they were very good and appropriate for children without being childish. I can't wait for the rest!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Review: I rate Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets four stars. The reason I didn't rate this book five stars is because I liked the first Harry Potter better. This book was written by J.K. Rowling. The book was about a boy named Harry Potter and his friends in their second year at Hogwarts. Doby (a house elf) tried to warn Harry not to go to Hogwarts, because Harry might have been in danger. Harry went to Hogwarts anyway, because he could not spend another day at the Dursleys (his aunt and uncle's house). At Hogwarts students were being petrified from a monster. Harry found out that he could speak parseltoungue, which means he could speak to snakes. When Hermione got petrified and Ron's sister got taken away by the monster, Harry is destined to find out where and what it is. To find out what happens next, read "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets!"

Summary: Harry Potter
Review: I rated Harry Potter 1 star becuase I did not think it wasn that exciting. Harry Potter was not a realistic book, it was just a made up fantasy. I think an adult might enjoy Harry Potter becuase they could understand it better. However someone my age could not understand many of the things the author states in the book.

Summary: Harry Potter and the chamber of secerets
Review: I rated this book a three star, and the three reasons why i did is First, I thought the author had a good imagination, she made cars fly and a certain plant had a baby growing. Second, I thought she was very discriptive, she described certain things like the whomping willow tree that crushed a flying car and she described how the tree looked. Third, I thought it was interesting. At one part there was a dead cat hanging from a torch post. The age group i rated this book for was grade six or you could say eleven year olds, and interest would be witchcraft and wizardry. In sixth grade they kind of get into books that might be similar. And they might read discriptive books like this.
