Summary: Let your imagination run free
Review: I have never read a book so filled with imagination. If i could've closed my eyes and read at the same time, I don't think I ever would have returned to reality.

Summary: Terrible
Review: I have never read anything so astonishingly unoriginal in my life. It is a SHAME that this has received the popularity that it so vehemently does not deserve. J.K. Rowling "borrows" many of her plots and characters from other children's writers of the past and defiles them into convoluted obscurity. She rarely creates, such is the talent of a true artist, and in those rare moments when her individual expression shines, it seems as strange and random as a nine year olds day dreams. If you indeed do decide to read Harry Potter, I recommend you read the first few chapters and the conclusion. The content in the middle of the book can be disregarded. In my opinion there are three options. Stay away from the Potter series. Buy the book and burn it. Or lastly read it and ponder suicide. Its that bad!

Summary: Are you convinced yet? The book rules!
Review: I have never spent a better 4 hours than reading the adventures of Harry, Ron, Hermoine and Neville. It's a great book that and the answer to the long unanswered question to who's the heir to Roal Dahl throne.

Summary: I haven't read a book in ten years, but I love these books!
Review: I have not read a book since I graduated from Law School ten years ago. I have a full time job, three active boys, and a part time job in the Nebraska National Guard. If I had any spare time it was spent gardening, remodeling, or paging through a magazine.

However, I recently was deployed for six months in Macedonia. My son sent me his Harry Potter books. Being deployed in this area of the world is much like spending time in a minimum security prison. Just work and exercise. No television, no leaving camp--except official business, a USO show every 2-4 weeks. That is it!

Every night I looked forward to crawling into my bed and reading Harry Potter as a pleasant diversion from my day to day duties. It was the highlight of a very long six months in the Balkans. I was particularly amused that Albania and Bulgaria were both mentioned by name in Ms. Rowling's books. My duties took me to both of those countries, but I didn't see any dragons. I am anxiously awaiting another book and when I get home my sons and I are going to see the movie.

Summary: Beyond Great Audio
Review: I have not read any of the Harry Potter books. I have only listened, enraptured, to all of the unabridged audio versions. These are unquestionably the MOST EXTRAORDINARY audio books I have ever experienced. I have used audio books extensively for 15 years and these are the best, most engaging, most entertaining, most adictive books I have ever encountered.

The presentation is flawless, enthusiastic, and perfectly paced. The reader is extraordinary. If I could find him, I would give him every audio award available.

I have just seen the movie, and, as wonderful as it was, it can not compare to the total experience of listening to these brilliant works of art.

This is an experiience no one should miss in their lifetime.

Trust me, get the first one and see.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I have not yet finished the book yet, in fact I just started today. But already I have fallen in love with the characters!

Summary: I am HOOKED on Harry Potter now
Review: I have only read Sorcerer's Stone so far, but I do NOT plan on stopping there, I plan to go out and buy the other two ASAP. Before Harry Potter, basically the only book series I read was the Redwall series, and I still love Redwall, but now that I've read Harry Potter books I've found something even better than Redwall.

Summary: So imaginative & addictive!!
Review: I have probably never found an author so imaginative. I could never think up all the names & gadgets in this novel. What great about it is it's not just for kids. It has the simplicity of a children's book yet I didn't get bored with it like other books that are way too young for me. In fact,I was quite addicted to it -- I read far into the night & couldn't stop after the first in the series--I had to start the second one. There is a lot of controversy over this book but what it really comes down to is it's a great novel & since it is imaginative that is good. Children need imaginations & that doesn't mean they will try to study witchcraft. My goodness!! That's why it's called "pleasure reading". Anyhow: it is a fantastic book---go read it!!!! :)

Summary: A book that turns kids unto reading!
Review: I have purchased copies of this book for four grandchildren, boys and girls. They all love it and have read it several times. They could hardly wait for the other two books to be published. In this day and age of computers, tv, videos, etc., it is wonderful to see and hear of the excitement that this book creates. There is nothing like your own imagination that is developed by reading. I loved the book as well. We have been to the authors book signing and I would say she is the premier author of this century as she has done what no one else could do....bring kids back to the joy of reading!!
