These may be located in the young reader section of the bookstore, however they are written for all ages! I love them.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Grandmother loves Harry Potter Review: I bought the 1st three books in the series and started reading them to my 6 year old granddaughter. She may be a little young to understand all the humor and lessons to be learned but I am really enjoying these books! She looks forward to the next chapter(and so do I). I know she will read these books again. And I will read them to the younger grandchildren when they are ready. They are an instant classic and I can't wait for number 4!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It all started with the hype Review: I bought the book after hearing the hype about Harry Potter. I completed the book in under 3 hours. It was the non complicated but plain and narrative way that got me hooked. I'm 18 this year and this is one of the best reads i would recommend for someone who just wants to retreat after a hard day at work or in college. Everyone has a child within and Harry Potter would be the one for me, maybe of a different gender *laughs* I guess the book is worth its hype ! going off to get the next one.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (book 1) Review: I bought the book because I wanted to understand what all the fuss was. I have to tell you, this book is fantastic. I could not put it down. It is full of adventure, heart, and fun. Rowling, does an exceptional job of bringing the characters and and their surroundings to life. From the beginning when Harry is at Privet drive to Hogwarts, to coming face-to-face with "you know who", the reader is embraced by the lead character and all that he experiences. I am hooked. I am on the 3rd book of the series and am looking forward to the 4th book. In each tale, you become more attached to Harry and his friends, you can really appreciate their innocenence, their bravery and their sense of adventure. It does not matter what age you are, these are just really fantastic books. I cant wait to see the movie!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: But... I'm an Adult! Review: I bought the book because it's a (pop) cultural phenomenon and because I do like to read juvenile or YA fiction now and then, especially if it has a fantasy theme. But I dragged my feet at opening it. After all, I had a pile of wonderful and worthy books to read, and what could possibly be so good about the Harry Potter books? I mean, I'm sure they are just fine for the kids, but I've been an adult for a VERY long time. Well--I was WONDERFULLY surprised when I finally did start reading! Sure, the territory wasn't blazingly new--but it still had that quality that puts you right back into your childhood--with all the fun and fears and terrors and adventure and MAGIC that goes along with it. I totally devoured this book and the two sequels and can hardly wait to read the 4th. I feel like a kid again, and it's just wonderful!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is fantasy just the way it has to be. Review: I bought the Collector's Edition of this title - unfortunately it seems that it is no longer available from Amazan directly, but maybe it is listed in one of the z-shops. The CE is really nice, bound in leather, gold-randered pages, an original drawing of Harry Potter by the author. But the story between the heavy leather covers is just fantastic. This is an extraordinary return to fiction in the range of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings - although it is definitely no reflection of this fantasy classic as another reviewer mentioned. This is a very original book, beautifully written, full of heart and full of mind - a rare combination only the person can achieve who writes not for a living but lives for writing. By the way, this is no children's book! As a matter of fact, I imagine the book to be very creepy for somebody who still goes to Elementary School. I enjoyed reading. There are lots of wizards, dragons, flying broomsticks, and loads of magic. This is fantasy just the way it has to be.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: You won't be able to put it down! Great for kids or adults. Review: I bought the first four harry potter books about a year ago and did not have the time to read them until last week. I was wondering why the series was such a big hit and I found out. The books put you in a made up world you do not want to stop reading about. When I did pick up the first book to read I could not put it down. There are not too many characters which would confuse children (and adults who try to read real fast like I do), there are interesting twists in the story, and JK Rowlings Harry Potter world is just a nice escape from reality. A very enjoyable read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: i want to be a wizard Review: I bought the Harry Potter books for my 13 year old son. While waiting for an appointment I began reading and did not put it down until I finished all three of the books. (I even admit to reading them all a second time, and enjoyed them just as much- or more!). This is a brilliant series of books that are not only for children. They combine the trials and tribulations of a growing adolescent today with a rich and magical world of make-believe. The vocabulary is complex and creative, and my entire family is now 'hooked' on Harry Potter.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great reading for all ages Review: I bought the Harry Potter series for my daughter since I have heard so much from other kids. I always skim through the books she reads and these books, I actually could not put it down. I enjoyed the book very much and would recommend them to all.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Well put together, absorbing, & delightful Review: I bought the paperback edition because I had been curious about a children's book that adults wanted to read. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Ms. Rowling has put together a very well constructed, thoroughly absorbing, and what is really to the point, a tale that delights, surprises, and thoroughly entertains the reader, even one who has been reading for far more years than most of the purchasers of the book have been alive. To those who condemn the book because it allegedly promotes necromancy, nihilism, and other nefarious practices I can only say that I respect your opinion but beg to differ. This is a work of fantasy designed to entertain. Many (very young) readers have been quoted as understanding fully the difference between fantasy and reality. If you've been thinking about getting it -- stop thinking and add it to your cart. You're in for a delightful few hours.
