Rating: Summary: Good enough for grown ups too Review: I am 35 years of age and a fan of fantasy and science fiction novels since I was a kid. I thought the Prydain Chronicles by Lloyed Alexander was the best fantasy series ever written for kids until this series came along. I bought all the three Harry Potter's novels after reading all the hype on Amazon.com and in the local newspaper; and I have to say this is one series that lives up to its hype. It is fun, exciting...a real page-turner...not only for kids but adults as well.
Rating: Summary: CLASSIC FAIRYTALES! Review: I am 42 years old and my mother is 67. We both lost sleep reading all three Harry Potter books. We couldn't put them down! As far as I am concerned, J.K. Rowling has created a world that is both fascinating and captivating and we are anxiously awaiting the 4th book. They are the BEST fairytales ever written!
Rating: Summary: Awesome for kids!!!! Review: I am a 14 year old girl who has read all 3 books in the Harry Potter series so far and I plan to read all of the others when they come out. I find that these books aren't just for kids but for adults also. I have enjoyed the books and hope that everyone else who has read them has too.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I am a 20-yr-old college student and I took a course on literature for children and young adults. When it was time for me to read this book I didn't really want to b/c it was so long, but once I started reading it I couldn't put it down! I read it all in one sitting. It was great! I really enjoied reading all about harry's adventures and such. I especially enjoied when he freaked out about using magic in the "muggle" world. :) J.K. Rowling must be a very creative person to have come up with such words like quiddich and muggle an Azkaban! Bravo! In class we talked about why people would ban this book; personaly I think they are crazy. Sure it is about wizards and such, but that shouldn't matter. You can't keep your children's minds pure forever. A child's imagination is a marvelous thing, don't ruin that.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful series for any age group. Review: I am a 22 year old English major who has now read all three Harry Potter books and can't wait for the rest. It may have been written with children in mind, but I think they are fabulous.

Rating: Summary: A wonderful story Review: I am a 33 year old teacher and I loved the magical adventures that Harry Potter seems to have. The real magic about Harry Potter is that he is getting so many young readers excited about reading. The book is written for children and adults who still are a child at heart. Even though J.K. Rowling has a wonderful series and tells a wonderful story, she sometimes has sections that aren't written all that well. The clearest example of one of her poorly written passages is chapter 18 of this book. (Prisoner of Azkaban) However, there are some books that can really capture the imagination of the reader and make the characters come to life. This is one of those rare books that can do so. When the reader has finished reading, it is as if they have left their three friends Harry, Ron and Hermoine. That is one of the true marks of a good childrens book. Harry Potter books constanly have a conflict dealing with ethics and being a morally good person. Knoble and sinister qualities of these characters comes clearly through the print and gets the reader to start thinking about what makes their real life freinds a good or bad freind. I highly recomend that this and the other Harry Potter books should be on your bookshelf.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Review: I am a 35 year old mom, who started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to my daughter. But I couldn't put it down. I have now read all three - Prisoner of Azkaban in two days. These books just keep getting better. The plot twists in this one are incredible! I also like the fact that there are strong female characters as well as male. There are also great lessons about love, trust, truth and friendship.
Rating: Summary: More twists than I expected Review: I am a 45 year-old librarian who has been reading fantasies and mysteries since I was 8 years old. I'd heard that this series was really good, so when I spotted this book yesterday, I bought it. While I was enjoying the book I was feeling smug because I thought I'd already guessed three "surprises" that would be revealed in the end. Well, the Bible says that pride goes before disaster and a haughty spirit before a fall. While it wasn't a disaster, I *was* humbled. Two of my guesses were correct, but in each case I'd figured out the unimportant secret and completely missed the more important ones about the characters. My third guess was only half correct. I've had less trouble figuring out several adult mysteries. My hat is off to the author. I'm going to end this review so I may order the previous two books.
Rating: Summary: Kids are excited about reading! Review: I am a 47 year old teacher/media specialist. I can't believe how these books have gotten kids to read. I have read all three and I have so much fun discussing them with the students. The third book dragged a little, but I can't wait for the fourth. Let's hope Spielberg does the movie!
