We recommend this book for every Dad/Mom to read for their kids or for families to read together. We just finished reading it today, and we came online to place an order for book 4! Go Harry, Ron and Hermione!
Rating: Summary: Best since The Chronicles of Narnia Review: Great plot, great characters; I read this without reading the two preceding books after my 15-year-old daughter told me not to. I just couldn't resist it after I read about the biting books! Now I get to read the others!

Rating: Summary: Tell EVERYONE with kids-pre-teens. Review: Had some friends that were reading this books with their kids -they kept coming to work and talking about the story. Then my Dad got a the copy on tape and we took it with us on a car trip. My husband and his 15 year old son hum-bugged the idea of listening to it where we all had to listen but I kept slipping it in and wouldn't you know - we ALL got hooked and practically raced to the car to be the first one to plug in the next tape after any/all interruptions. Even the 15 year old "young man" was not wanting to miss out on anything that happened in the story. We all loved it and are starting on the next books.
Rating: Summary: HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN Review: HAPPRY POTTER WAS THE GREATEST BOOK EVER AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT! J.K. ROWLING IS ONE OF THE GREATEST AUTHOR EVER, SHE WROTE THE BEGINNINGS OF THE FIRST HARRY POTTER ON SCRAPES OF PAPER AT A LOCAL CAFE`! HER WRITING IS SIMPLY WONDERFUL AND EVER ONE OF ALL AGES SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Great fantasy that seems it could really happen. Review: Harry and his cohorts have captivated my fifth and sixth graders. Many of them are not book lovers, but there is a waiting list for the books in my classroom and they are read in less than a week. He even beats out talk of Pokemon'! Only one child who has started the books has failed to finish the first one and I am sure she wasn't a fantasy reader. I loved the books and am purchasing the set for my classroom because the children have asked for them a second time already. Harry and his friends have fun and there is just enough scary stuff to satisfy my boys. I would like to visit Hogwarts but don't think they would let me teach there. I am glad that Harry has a new hold on his mean uncle to get him through the summer.
Rating: Summary: Longer, Yet Stronger Review: Harry and the gang are back for their third year at Hogwarts, and as usual, the trio find themselves in another magical adventure. It seems that each year, Harry finds trouble around every corner; however, in this third book, trouble may just find our young hero.Harry is again spending another summer with his muggle aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, whose pension it is to make his life miserable. They succeed, and it comes to a head when Aunt Marge, makes a surprise visit to 4 Privet Drive. She is the sister of Uncle Vernon, a witch in her own right, one of the muggle variety, so mean that she makes Harry's guardians look like domesticated wildcats. Being on his best behavior will be a real challenge, so much that his uncle strikes up a deal to sign a release form for Harry to visit Hogsmead, a weekend getaway for all third years. From the moment Aunt Marge walks in the front door of the Dursley home, the temptation to turn her into a toad becomes a very enticing alternative; however, Harry chooses to inflate her like a balloon to the reader's delight. Although it is a well-deserved punishment for the old hag, Harry knows that it is time to fly the coup while his uncle tends to his soaring full-of-hot-air sister. Fleeing the Dursley home does not land Harry out of trouble, but smack dab in the middle of it, because lurking in the shadows is an escaped murderer of incredible notoriety, Sirius Black. Not only did Black breakout of Azkaban, he fled from the clutches of the dementors, a seemingly impossible feat. Harry running away from the Dursleys and no place to go for the remainder of the summer, hitches a ride on a magical bus, and lands safely into the Leaky Cauldron Pub, where he overhears some dreadful news... "Black has escaped to kill Harry Potter." What will become of our hero this time? With the school on alert and the dementors stalking around the campus looking for Black, it will be a most interesting third year for Harry, Ron, and Hermione. JK Rowling introduces some new characters as she reveals more of Harry Potter's background. The mysterious Professor Lupin becomes a main character in this one as he assumes the teaching role for Defense Against the Dark Arts, and the eccentric Professor Trelawney the students' teacher in Divination. Moreover, the scariest by far are the dementors, the Grim Reaper-like creatures that effect Harry in a terrible way. Of course, back again are the regulars like the loveable Hagrid, who becomes the new professor for Care of Magical Creatures, and Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall. In addition, Draco Malfoy and Snape are more sinister than ever, wishing they could rid themselves of Harry Potter. The Prisoner of Azkaban is a delightful book and Rowling again weaves a delicious plot that seemingly arrives at a screeching halt in the end. Infused within the plot are several subplots, and Rowling's imagination and storytelling ability keep Potter fans reaching for the next sequel. Bill Fyffe
Rating: Summary: Stil a great great book Review: Harry does not live in a sun dappled, happy world that seems to have invaded children's fiction of late. His classmates are not all model perfect, his clothes don't come from the Gap. In fact, Harry lives in a world of danger, and excitement, and that is so much more fun. Being 29, I thought I would be briefly amused by these Harry Potter books and then move on. Instead, I am a huge Harry convert and have honestly not been this excited about a series of books in a long time. Not only has Rowling brought back the joy of reading, but she has breathed new life in children's fantasy. As a former student in library school, i know full well what will be the popular books for years to come, and deservedly so. For those of you willing to pooh pooh these books and relegate them to the children's bin, open these books up and read them. We hear that kids have all the fun..well, hee's your second chance! Long live Harry and Hogswarts! I especially liked the introduction of the Dementors in this book, fearsome beings that can suck all the happiness out fo you. These are among Rowlings most terrifying creations. The rest of the gang is here as well, getting themselves into more trouble than ever. The only bad thing is the wait until the 5th book comes out! Hurry JK, hurry!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Review: Harry doesn't like his aunt Petunia; Harry doesn't like his uncle Vernon; Harry doesn't like his cousin Dudley; and Harry does not like his 'aunt' Marge: To put it bluntly. So maybe some of us wouldn't lose out tempers and inflate our 'aunts', but I think we can safely sympathize with Harry's temper. And we would also probably pack our bags and leave the house as well. Unfortunately for us, though, we would not be so lucky as to have the wizards Night Bus to pick us up and take us away. But Harry did, and spent the last few weeks before going to school in great comfort. He gets back to the school he loves, with all the friends he loves, with all the food he loves, and with all the teachers - some of which I'm not sure he loves so much. But there is a killer abroad, and here and there Harry learns that the killer is after him. Not to mention that Dementors are almost always around, searching for the killer; beings that suck all the happiness out of you and make the air go cold. It may not be such a fun year after all....
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter 3 star Ratings Review: Harry gets 5 stars because J.K Rowling get's realy caught up in the wizard and witch stuff. The characters that Harry hangs out with are kind of like the people in my class, except they aren't wizards or witches. I like how the author made the teachers like ours.
