Summary: Another classic!!
Review: Having read the first three installments of the Harry Potter series aloud with my children, I was interested in the continuing exploits of Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the gang at Hogwarts. This time around, my kids decided to read the book on their own so I decided to go through it as well. Despite the substantial length, it was generally a fast and easy, yet compelling, work. Readers of the first three novels will be familiar with the style, the characters and the various storylines. In The Goblet of Fire, Rowling tells another intriguing story of a year in the life of Harry Potter, with the usual twists, turns and intricacies that her readers have come to expect. In this work, the plot -- although definitely more intense -- is build upon what preceded it. The book clears up some of the mysterious unknowns from the previous books, thus pulling things together quite well in the end, while also setting the stage for the next installment. All-in-all, the Goblet of Fire is a very good effort and is well worth the time……even for an adult.

Summary: best of the best
Review: I have been a Harry potter fan since i picked up the first book. In fact i love this book so much that i fought with my mother over who gets to read the books first. That is how good they are. But this book however is by far the best. It is full of alot of twist and turns. You will laugh at the weasleys, the twins fred and george and their bags of tricks, Mr. weasley and his facination with plugs, ron and hermoine's bickering, and you will finally get to meet the other weasley brothers as well as many other characters such as mad eye monney. You will aslo see that the characters develop more fully in this story than in the others. You will see how harry tackles his promblems. You'll get so nervous and excited in parts of the book that you will not be able to put it down. There however are emotional parts in this book to that you may shed a tear over. But all in all this is one of the best books in the series as of yet. People think that harry potter is only for children, but you will discover when you read these books especially this one that these books are for kids from nine years old to hundred and one. Considereing that I am in college and love this book you will to. You won't be sorry that you bought it!

Summary: Harry Potter is not promoting Satan...
Review: The books never even mention the guy! Those children the reader included in the review were clearly having confused interpertations of Harry Potter as was the reader. I hope that the reader comes back and sees that the review was not helpful to several people--people who actually read the book and understood what it really was. Also, J.K. Rowling said no such thing. Whatever you read, it was a fat lie. If you need anymore proof, I suggest you actually read the books and see that it is simply fiction and people who misinterpret it for something real obviously have a big problem. Once again, there is no such mentioning of Satan or Jesus being weak or anything along those lines in the books. Even more, the students of Hogwarts celebrate Christmas! I seriously hope that the Christians against Harry Potter will wake up from their own spell of ignorance and paranoia and realize that Harry Potter is nothing more than a series of books that are popular as other series have been and are. I suggest that all of you stop burning the books and start doing something actually useful. To all the other readers, I suggest you stop reading any of the horrible reviews attacking Harry Potter because the reviewers don't know anything about the books.

Summary: Cliffhanger
Review: All the Harry Potter books seem to leave you craving for more. JK Rowlings fourth hit, is no exception. With no indication as to when the next one will emerge, read it slowly and take your time!

Summary: Review & Response to "reader in PA"
Review: This book and series is delightful. I have read all 4 books and listened to all 4 with my 5 & 8 yr olds on CD. We will read and listen to them and enjoy them for years to come.

No where in any of the books have I read one word about religion or spirituality of ANY sort. I refuse to buy into unsubstantiated, implied scare tactics of "reader from PA's" review - Harry Potter books somehow turning "20 MILLION" young people to Satanism???? This sort of sensationalism is a discredit to Christianity.

The beauty of this series is that Harry's world is close enough to ours to be familiar and comfortable, yet delightfully magical, keeping us amazed. Plus, Harry, et al, gets to deal with frightening situations and do it well. What kid doesn't feel more capable, if only for a while, when letting themselves be Harry for a chapter or two?

Doffing my Gryffindor hat to JK Rowling.

Summary: The Greatest Review EVER!!! Maybe...
Review: Okay, you're probably all wondering why I am writing a review of a book that came out a year ago, and the answer is I've been at school an extra year and have more juicy adjectives and writing knowledge at my disposal. Harry Potter is like the Star Wars fims in book form. The storylines are totally different, you will find no wookiees or lightsabres in this book, nor will you find magic wands or massive wizardy schools in any of the Star Wars films, but they are both phenomenons. Like George lucas, J.K Rowling has managed to draw you in with her knowing what we (I.e you) want. Each book in the series has a totally different plotline, but with the characters you know and love. People don't realise how similiar these two phenomenons are, but when you start wondering whether Lord Voldemort is Harry's father, you can't help noticing a similarity. Everyone should know the plot by now, so I won't explain who Voldemort is. The whole series is filled with enough twists and turns, you could make a roller coaster out of it. Irresistable, irreplacable and errr.... unputdownable.
