Summary: Another Great Harry Book
Review: Like all of the Harry Potter series, this book is excellent. If you liked the other three, buy this one too! It is a wonderful book over all. I don't think it is the best book of the four, however, because it is a little too long. I think that as the Harry grows older and the books grow longer, younger children could lose interest in the series. For me, (I'm 20) the books are a great escape from college studies but my 10 year old brother didn't finish it.
I've noticed that some reviewers feel compelled to compare it to other (adult) fantasy novels like Tolkien's Ring series. I would like to say to them that although millions of adults (like me) enjoy HP, it is a children's book and is marketed that way. If you want complex adult fiction don't read Harry Potter and then criticize it for being the wrong genre! I would personally compare it with Roald Dahl's work--another children's favorite!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This is the best book I have read in ages! I might be a little old (so some people say) to read the Harry Potter books but I just couldn't put it down. I bought the first book about a week before I had bought all four and read them. Rowling has created an astonishingly real life world and the characters seem so real I got caught up in the whole story and read it like it was real life. The fourth book is the best of the lot and that is saying a lot. It is filled with intrigue and plots to resurrect "You Know Who" and to kill our hero Harry Potter. An excellent book, you won't be able to put it down. I just can't wait for the next installment

Summary: Fun to read, but good literature it isn't
Review: I have read all four Harry Potter books. And, I have to admit, they are fun and entertaining to read. But what irks me is when people constantly refer to these as "the best books ever" or "great literature for children." Talking to a friend (who also is a non-fanatical reader of Harry Potter), we both agreed on this sentiment. Yet when confronted by such criticisms, people blinded by Harry Potter mania tend to scoff and say, "Who cares? I read it for the entertainment value." (People have said this to me before!) Really? That's great. So do I. But then please shut up about how it's a masterpiece in the making! Popularity does not equal great literature.

For one thing - and this is one of my biggest gripes - the characters are TOO one-dimensional. Dumbledore is way too perfect. He is trusting, believes in Harry when no one else will, was the only one who Voldemort was afraid of, blah blah blah. Boring! With JK Rowling's depiction of Dumbledore as so infallible, why not just change his name to Jesus and be done with it? Please...give the guy some depth!

And then there's Harry. Poor, orphaned Harry, who just happens to be the youngest Seeker in a century! Not to mention he is put in the "best Hogwarts house," which has won the Interhouse Cup whatever each year he's been a member (he helped break Slytherin's winning streak!!!) Ugh. The whole poor orphan (equipped with a wicked "step" family) who just so happens to be insanely talented (or, in many female stories, beautiful) storyline has been done to DEATH. Cinderella, anyone?

And the girls. There is so much sexism in the books, but it's mainly little, subtle things...so I don't think Rowling put it there on purpose...but please, how come it's only the female characters who lose their heads and scream whenever a crisis dawns, and the males are the only ones that keep their cool? Example: when Harry flies on his broom for the first time, Ron gives an "admiring whoop" and the girls just shriek in alarm. Excuse me while I go pay homage to the porcelain gods.

The enemies are too one-dimensional, also. They are always beaten by the good guys, they are never very smart, they are shown only as evil, evil, not to mention strongly disliked and jealous, fools. I'm going to repeat what I said for Dumbledore: give the poor people some depth!

Well...I know that my review borders mainly on character development, etc., but that was my biggest gripe with the books, and therefore is my focus. Now I just wait for the spiteful HP fans to start swooping in...

Summary: One of the best books of all time
Review: After reading the first three, I had to get my hands on this book. This book has the same ol' Harry Potter highlights like suspense, action, and plot twists. It has some great, new characters that really grow on you. Even though it is a great book, it is the saddest book I have ever read. I've read it six times and everytime I've cried at the end beacause it leaves you felling empty inside. I cannot wait for the fifth book to some out because this one leaves you on a major cliffhanger.

Summary: Cool Special Edition Book!
Review: This is the exactly the same as "Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire" and I thought that it was a great book. This is a special edition version! Buy it if you don't already have the normal edition, or if you already have the normal edition and want it because you are a huge Harry Potter fan.

Summary: A Must Read for all Kids
Review: Harry Potter is an experiance every kid should enjoy. An all out book for a kid's imagination. This book was a great way for me to stretch the limits of a magical world. Harry potter is a perfect way for a kid to feel he or she can do somthing important. Reading this book will help you learn the world.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: This book was worst book I had ever read. All of the other Harry Potter book were great, but this one was just dumb. Now if you like book that are hundreds of pages long and go around in circles than read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Summary: Gripping and far better than the other three
Review: What makes the fourth book of J. K. Rowling's famous orphan wizard so good to read is that it has plot twists, fresh new characters (as always), wickedly funny, and the length of it make it impossible to put down. I won't reveal the plot, to discourage spoilers, but I will say one thing. JKR, keep on writing. Your loyal U. S./British fans are waiting for the fifth book! :) (Too bad she doesn't answer her fan mail, like a good author should, the reason why I deducted a star... :( )

Contains mature themes of death and torture, not for wee children to read.

Summary: Awesome Book!
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I have read all four books and now I'm a fanatic (and I'm 20)!!! The book just reaches in and grabs a hold of ones inner child. It puts you in a place that allows you to wander free. I couldn't put this book down and I can't wait for book 5 or the movie.

Summary: Absolutely Incredible and Extremely Imaginative
Review: I LOVE THIS BOOK AND THE OTHER SERIES!! I have all 4 books and I can not get enough of them! I can't wait until the movie comes out but especially the 5th book! In this book...Harry escapes from the Dursleys and watches a Quidditch game, he dreams about his crush, Cho Chang, and he discovers about the mysterious events happening at Hogwarts who involve two other rival schools of magic and a competion that hasn't happened for about a hundred years! He wants to be a normal 14 year old wizard but however Harry isn't normal BY wizarding standards and in this case, different can be deadly....
