Summary: I am surprised...
Review: I am very shocked at how some people think of this book. I mean, I always knew there were weirdos out there who think Harry Potter is dangerous...people who think that it puts bad ideas into kids' minds. There is nothing terrible about these books. It's fantasy, and some people don't have any imagination to believe in it. Just because the book says something doesn't mean that it's real. I read about some fool kid who jumped off his house's roof on a broom because the book said brooms flew. HONESTLY! It's fantasy, people, it's not real! I also read about some girl who was so scared of the books that she had nightmares for a month. Obviously she wasn't old enough not to be scared, so why were they read to her, or why did she read them? They are thrilling and chilling, but not scary! Someone else said that the only people who read Harry Potter are people who are uneducated, don't pay attention in class, or slackers who need something to read for a summer reading list at the last second. NOT TRUE! I'm a sixth grader, a straight-A student, and I don't procrastinate. All of my friends are the same, and we adore Harry Potter and its capturing story. J.K. Rowling has really outdone herself, and it shows! We all expect something as perfect for the fifth book, and we're sure it will deliver!

Summary: The Story's Just Beginning....
Review: In the fourth novel of her epic Harry Potter story, J.K. Rowling weaves the LARGEST and most complex tale of mystery, suspense, magic and fantasy yet, picking up right where Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban leaves off. Far more complicated and gripping than the first three novels, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will leave you on the edge of your seat as Rowling takes you on a suspenseful magical ride of mystery as Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, battle the forces of evil and indeed a fight for survival itself. Weaving together characters and stories from the previous three novels, the Goblet of Fire is THE pivotal book in the series. As the ending of this novel alludes to, the story is JUST BEGINNING!!! As has become her M.O., not all is as it seems. The ending will leave you in complete shock and surprise, and even horror!!!

The Main Story:

Against his will Harry is entered into a deadly tournament which has not been held in over a hundred years, pitting the best and the brightest of Hogwarts and two rival wizarding school against each other. Now Harry is in a battle for survival as the tournament progresses. Can Harry survive the tournament and discover who has entered him and more importantly WHY?

Also, Lord Voldemort unleashes a last ditch effort to return himself to full power.

Supporting Stories:

- Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys travel to the Quidditch World Cup.

- What became of Sirius Black?

- Has Hagrid finally found love?

- For the fourth year in a row, a new Defense Against the Dark Arts instructor arrives at Hogwarts, the eery and strange Mad-Eye Moody, a former Dark Wizard capturer, brings his unique brand of defense to Hogwarts and reveals the forbidden curses to the students.

- Trouble in paradise, again? Harry and Ron's friendship undergoes a major test.

- The return of Dobby!!! S.P.E.W. Hermione begins a campaign for elfish rights.

- Blossoming into teenagers, will the gang be able to find dates to the ball? Will Harry, Ron and Hermione find love?

- A new nemesis arrives for the gang in the form of Rita Skeeter, a nosy and trouble-making reporter for the Daily Prophet.

- The signs are appearing everywhere. Will Voldemort make his return?

- What are Fred and George up to?

- What's the deal with Percy and his new boss?

What We Find Out:

- Rowling expands the wizarding world as she introduces the foreign schools of Dumstrang and Beauxbatons into the Harry Potter world, and the unique students they enroll.

- We learn a little more about life as it was at the height of Voldemort's power.

- We learn (and confirm some suspicions about) who Voldemort's supporters are.

- We take a look into the past, again, to see the fall of Voldemort's supporters.

- We learn a little more about Snape's background.

Far more gripping, engaging and horrifying than the first three novels, fans of Harry Potter will love and enjoy the voluminous fourth chapter in his epic story. Rowling continues to expand upon the world of Harry Potter at a great rate, slowly revealing more about his mysterious past and the world around him and interweaving elements and revelations from the first three novels into a great web of mystery and suspense.

Harry Potter mania has swept the nation, if not the world, for the past several years. Rowling's gripping stories of mystery, suspense, shock, fantasy and magic are a true treat. This book is another shining example of why her characters are beloved by both children and adults the world over.

Even at a little over a whopping 700 pages, the book still reads fast.

My total read time: 16 hours, three evenings.

Summary: WOW
Review: Since I first bought Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire one week after it came out,it was so fun to read. Anyway,I love to read but I was totally sure my brother was going to really like it,and he doesn't read books that long!

This book has so much crammed into it you will never want to stop reading it. It amazed me how she could fit sports, magic, frendship, bravery, loyalty, school, monsters, and the occasional gillyweed into one fantastic book!

Summary: No "Ghost" Writers, Please!
Review: I'm one of the 4000 reviewers who enjoys "Harry Potter" books. The books are clever, imaginative, descriptive, and exciting. There is one caution I agree with that was astutely pointed out by a Nov. 22, 2001 reviewer from England who suggested that parents take the trouble to explain to children Harry's little lying, cheating, and breaking the rules when he thinks he needs to. That's the only problem I saw with the books. But, nothing is perfect. Right? These are all great fictional stories presented within the framswork of fantasy. For those who enjoy fantasy, I would also recommend you read, while waiting for "Harry Potter - Book 5", a little known book that does the same thing --- except the stories presented within the framework of fantasy are true stories that have educational benefit toward teaching character and leadership. The book is called "West Point" by Norman Thomas Remick, and I got a tip about it from another "Harry Potter" reader who said it kind of picks up on what J.K. Rowling had Dumbledore say to Harry at the end of Book 4, namely, choose the difficult right from the easy wrong. I'm reading it while breathlessly waiting to see what J.K. Rowling comes up with next in Book 5. And I assume it is written exclusively by her? Please, no "ghost" writers. We want it to be all J.K. Rowling!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: A very detailed book with some adult words that help readers to acquire a better vocabulary. I personally also bought all the unabridged tapes of all four books and am delighted with how Jim, the reader is able to change his voice for each of the characters. This also helps draw a slow reader into the story as they read along with the book by introducing how the words are pronounced. J.K.Rowling deserves applause from me for how she leads up to the recreation of Valdamort (hope I spelled this right). Any estimate on the 5th year and Holbart's School for Wizards?

Summary: makes you think......
Review: harry potter and the goblet of fire is really the best book i have ever read!i've read half my school's library(10,000 books) and i have yet to read better.the other harry potter books are very good, and highly interesting, but in this one your heart really goes out to him. another twist is thrown into the highly complicated plot in the form of cho chang, a fifth year who harry has a very big crush on. she is totally a very very nice person, and you can see why he likes her. though this is my favorite book, i admit that my favorite moment of all the books so far was in the 3rd book, when harry notices cho for the first time. many people i know hate harry potter, say its boring, immature, blah blah blah, but they havent even read the stinkin books!(they don't stink, i just got carried away there.) as you read re read and read again these books, you begin to not want harry potter ever ever ever to grow up. he starts out as a nice eleven year old, and he's going to be 15??????? my how time flies.

harry potter is definately the coolest person there ever was, even though he's fictional, and i was watching TV one year ago, an interview with jk rowling. they asked her what would happen to harry after he finished school, and her reply was "how do you know he won't die at the end?" i'll say this;if harry potter dies at age 17, i'll be so so so so so so mad. jk rowling definately doesn't know what would happen if she did that. she would definately make the world sad!!!!!!!!!!
